She’s the “love of my life” to every man she meets—but only because she’s learned to love one thing: money.
SHAYLA can’t keep running from her past, and now, it’s coming back to collect.
Is she ready to face the truth… or will she sell her soul again?

EXT. SHAYLA’S APARTMENT – NIGHT

The camera zooms in on a modest apartment. Inside, SHAYLA sits on the couch, staring blankly at the TV. A half-empty wine glass sits on the coffee table. The faint sound of a ringtone rings from the corner of the room.

SHAYLA
(muttering to herself)
Another one. Another “love of my life.”

Her phone screen lights up. The name ANTHONY flashes. She hesitates for a moment, then picks up the phone.

SHAYLA
(sweetly)
Hello, Anthony?

INT. ANTHONY’S LUXURY PENTHOUSE – NIGHT

ANTHONY stands by the window, the city lights reflecting off his expensive suit. He takes a deep breath before speaking.

ANTHONY
(concerned)
Shayla, I’ve been thinking… You’re still okay, right? You know I can always help.

SHAYLA
(playful, masking her distress)
I’m always okay, Anthony. You know that.

ANTHONY
(sighs)
I don’t believe that. You’ve been avoiding me… and I don’t like it. I can take care of everything for you again, just like before.

SHAYLA
(mocking)
Oh, so now you’re my knight in shining armor again? Is that how it is?

ANTHONY
(guilty)
You know I never left, Shayla. I can help with anything. Just… just say the word.

SHAYLA
(pauses, voice trembling slightly)
Anthony, I don’t know anymore. I—(cuts herself off) I don’t want to talk about it right now.

There’s a moment of silence. ANTHONY frowns, concerned.

SHAYLA
(softly, almost pleading)
I’m just tired of everything, you know? Everything seems so empty…

INT. COFFEE SHOP – DAY

IMAN, a charming, slightly naive man in his late twenties, sits with DELICE, his long-time friend. They are having coffee, talking. IMAN is clearly smitten with SHAYLA, but he’s trying to hide it.

IMAN
(nervously)
I mean, you’ve seen her, right? Shayla… she’s amazing. I can’t stop thinking about her.

DELICE
(forcing a smile, pretending to be supportive)
I mean… yeah, she’s great. But she’s a complicated one. You don’t want to get too involved.

IMAN
(determined)
I’m serious about her. She’s been through a lot. She deserves someone who really cares.

DELICE
(under her breath)
She doesn’t deserve you, Iman.

EXT. SHAYLA’S APARTMENT – EVENING

A quick, silent montage. SHAYLA walks out of her apartment, dressed in designer clothes that don’t seem to fit her mood. IMAN is waiting outside, holding a bouquet of flowers.

Their eyes meet, and SHAYLA smiles faintly, but there’s a sense of detachment in her.

IMAN
(earnestly)
I was hoping I could take you out for dinner tonight… Maybe we could talk?

SHAYLA
(glancing at him, almost annoyed)
Why would I want to do that, Iman?

IMAN
(heartfelt)
Because I care about you, Shayla. You’ve been through so much, and you need someone who will listen, not just fix things with money.

SHAYLA
(laughs bitterly)
I don’t need your pity. I need something real.

She turns to walk away, and he watches her leave, frustrated.

INT. ANTHONY’S PENTHOUSE – NIGHT

ANTHONY sits in his lavish living room, alone. His phone rings again—this time, it’s SHAYLA. His face softens as he answers.

ANTHONY
(gentle)
Shayla?

SHAYLA
(breaking down, unable to hold it in)
I can’t do this anymore, Anthony. I can’t keep pretending that I’m fine. I don’t know what I’m doing with my life. I’m falling apart, and you’re the only one who’s ever been there. But… you’re not really here for me. You’re only here when things get bad.

ANTHONY
(softly, trying to reassure her)
Shayla, I’m here. You know that. Whatever you need, I’ll take care of it.

SHAYLA
(through tears)
I don’t want your money, Anthony. I want you. I want someone who’s not just going to bail me out when it’s convenient. I need someone who sees me—really sees me.

INT. SHAYLA’S APARTMENT – NIGHT

DELICE is there, sitting on the couch. She watches SHAYLA, who is sitting at the kitchen table, looking lost.

DELICE
(hesitantly, avoiding eye contact)
You should talk to Iman. He… he really cares about you, Shayla.

SHAYLA
(laughs bitterly)
Iman? He’s just like all the others. Another guy who’ll end up disappointed when he realizes how messed up I really am.

DELICE
(serious now)
Maybe. But he’s different. He doesn’t just want to fix you. He wants you. For you.

SHAYLA
(angry)
And you think I’m just supposed to throw everything away for someone who doesn’t even understand me?

The phone rings again. SHAYLA glances at the caller ID. It’s ANTHONY.

She stares at the phone for a long beat.

SHAYLA
(softly)
I can’t… I can’t do this anymore.

INT. ANTHONY’S PENTHOUSE – NIGHT

ANTHONY looks at the phone in his hand, the call rejected. His face falls.

INT. SHAYLA’S APARTMENT – LATER

A dramatic silence fills the room. SHAYLA finally breaks down, tears streaming down her face. DELICE watches her from across the room, helpless.

INT. COFFEE SHOP – DAY

IMAN sits at a table, waiting. He looks out the window, hoping to see SHAYLA. She walks past the shop, ignoring the glance he throws her way.

She doesn’t see him. She’s already walking towards her next fix.

SHAYLA
(to herself, as she walks past him)
Love… it’s just a word. A lie.

EXT. CITY STREET – NIGHT

A final shot of SHAYLA, walking alone in the night.
