Bethany & Larry – Confrontation Scene

1. Bethany’s Bedroom – Day

Bethany sits alone on the sofa in her bedroom, scrolling through her phone.

The room is quiet. She looks completely lost in her own thoughts.

Suddenly, Larry walks into the room.

He crosses over and sits on the edge of the bed directly across from Bethany.

Bethany looks up from her phone. Larry begins talking to her.

For a moment, everything seems normal.

Then Larry’s phone suddenly starts ringing.

Larry looks down at the screen. His expression immediately changes.

SHARRA CALLING

Larry freezes. He glances at Bethany, then looks back at the phone.

He knows this is going to cause a problem.

LARRY
(thinking)
Sharra is calling me, and Bethany is sitting right here. What am I supposed to do now?

2. Bethany Questions Larry

Bethany notices Larry staring at his phone. She narrows her eyes.

BETHANY
Larry, who’s calling you?

Larry remains silent. Bethany watches him carefully.

BETHANY
Larry, I asked you. Who is calling you?

Larry finally looks at her.

LARRY
It’s Sharra.

Bethany’s expression instantly hardens. She tries to remain calm.

BETHANY
Pick up.
BETHANY
And put it on speaker. I want the volume up.

Larry hesitates. Then he answers the call.

SHARRA
Larry, how are you?
LARRY
I’m good. How are you?

3. Sharra’s Call

Bethany sits beside him, listening.

Her anger slowly grows as she hears Sharra’s voice.

Sharra explains that she wants Larry to go with her to meet Attorney Bianca.

Larry listens quietly.

Bethany’s face becomes tense. She can barely contain her anger.

Suddenly, Bethany reaches over and snatches Larry’s phone from his hand.

Larry looks shocked.

Bethany puts the phone to her ear.

BETHANY
Sharra, if you want to go, then go.
BETHANY
But Larry isn’t going with you.

There is a brief silence on the other end.

Sharra clearly hears Bethany’s tone.

Without arguing, Sharra ends the call.

4. Larry Decides to Leave

Bethany lowers the phone. Larry stares at her.

LARRY
What did you just do?
BETHANY
I told her the truth.

Larry stands up.

LARRY
I’m going with Sharra.

Bethany immediately turns toward him.

BETHANY
You’re not going anywhere.
LARRY
I’m going. What does it have to do with you?

Bethany gets to her feet. Her eyes fill with anger.

BETHANY
Larry, if you go with Sharra today, then whatever relationship we have left is over.

Larry looks at her for a long moment. There is no fear in his expression. Only frustration.

LARRY
Okay.
LARRY
I don’t care.

Those words hit Bethany hard.

Larry turns around and walks out of the room.

5. Bethany’s Plan

Bethany remains standing there. Her breathing becomes heavier.

She watches the doorway after Larry disappears.

A mixture of anger, jealousy, and desperation takes over her face.

She sits back down on the sofa.

For several moments, she says nothing.

Then an idea crosses her mind.

It is not a good one.

Bethany picks up her phone and makes a call.

BETHANY
I need you to come to my house.

She listens.

BETHANY
There’s something I need you to take care of.

Bethany looks toward the bedroom door.

BETHANY
It’s about Larry’s car.

She ends the call.

6. Bethany’s House – Later

A car mechanic arrives at the house.

Bethany meets him outside and quietly explains what she wants.

She leads him toward the car.

Her expression remains cold
