BROOKE’S TERRIFYING MEDICAL EMERGENCY — LARRY AND BETHANY FEAR THE WORST!
SCENE 1 — BROOKE’S SUDDEN STOMACH PAIN
The house is quiet. Brooke is sitting on the couch, trying to relax, when a sudden pain strikes her stomach.
She immediately grabs her abdomen, her face twisting in discomfort.
BROOKE
Oh my God! My stomach hurts so bad!
She tries to stand, but the pain becomes unbearable. She bends forward, struggling to catch her breath.
Bethany notices something is wrong and rushes toward her.
BETHANY
Brooke? Baby, what’s wrong? Why are you holding your stomach like that?
BROOKE
Mom, I don’t know! It hurts so much. Please, make it stop!
BETHANY
Okay, sweetheart. Look at me. Just breathe slowly. We’re going to figure this out, okay?
Larry enters the room after hearing their voices. The moment he sees Brooke in pain, he hurries toward them.
LARRY
What happened? Brooke, what’s going on?
BETHANY
Larry, something is seriously wrong! She’s in terrible pain. We need to get her to the hospital right now!
LARRY
Come on, sweetheart. Lean on me. We’re getting you help.
Brooke struggles to walk, clutching her stomach. Larry and Bethany support her from both sides and quickly lead her toward the door.
SCENE 2 — BROOKE COLLAPSES IN THE CAR
Larry drives toward the hospital while Bethany sits beside Brooke in the back seat, holding her hand.
Brooke looks pale and frightened. Her eyes fill with tears as another wave of pain hits her.
BROOKE
Mom, please… I can’t take this anymore.
BETHANY
Stay with me, baby. Please, just hold on. We’re almost there.
Larry glances at them through the rearview mirror.
LARRY
Brooke, listen to me. We’re going to get you help. You’re not alone, sweetheart.
BROOKE
Dad, something is wrong with me. I’m scared.
LARRY
I know you’re scared, baby, but we’re right here with you.
Suddenly, Brooke begins vomiting blood. Bethany freezes in shock before urgently calling Larry’s attention.
BETHANY
LARRY! Oh my God! She’s vomiting blood!
LARRY
What?! Brooke! Baby, can you hear me?
Brooke becomes weak and loses consciousness. Bethany catches her as she slumps against her.
BETHANY
BROOKE! Baby, wake up! Please, wake up!
Larry pulls up to the hospital entrance, terrified.
LARRY
Get the doctors! Somebody help my daughter!
SCENE 3 — THE EMERGENCY ROOM PANIC
Larry and Bethany rush Brooke into the hospital’s emergency department. Bethany is crying uncontrollably while Larry desperately calls for help.
BETHANY
Please! Somebody help us! My daughter is really sick!
A nurse approaches with a hospital stretcher. Medical staff begin assessing Brooke’s condition.
DOCTOR
We need to take her to the emergency room immediately. Her condition is critical.
LARRY
Doctor, please! That’s my daughter. You have to help her!
DOCTOR
We’ll do everything we can. But you both need to wait outside while we treat her.
BETHANY
No, please! I can’t leave my baby in there alone!
DOCTOR
I understand you’re frightened, but we need room to work. Please wait outside. We’ll update you as soon as possible.
The medical team wheels Brooke through the emergency room doors. Larry and Bethany stare helplessly at the closed doors.
Bethany turns toward Larry and breaks down in his arms.
BETHANY
Larry, I’m so scared! What if something happens to our baby? What are we going to do?
LARRY
Don’t say that, Bethany. Please. Brooke is strong. The doctors are going to help her.
BETHANY
But you saw her! She was vomiting blood, Larry! I’ve never seen anything like that before!
SCENE 4 — THE DOCTOR REVEALS BROOKE’S CONDITION
Minutes feel like hours. Larry paces back and forth while Bethany sits in a chair, crying quietly.
Finally, the doctor comes out. Larry immediately approaches him.
LARRY
Doctor! Thank God. Please tell me something. What’s happened to Brooke? Is she okay?
DOCTOR
I’m afraid Brooke’s condition is very serious. We need to act quickly.
BETHANY
What do you mean, serious? Doctor, please tell us what’s wrong with our daughter!
The doctor takes a breath before explaining what the medical team has discovered.
DOCTOR
Based on what we’ve learned so far, Brooke had an injection intended to cause a miscarriage. It appears she has suffered a severe reaction, and she’s experiencing dangerous complications.
Larry stares at the doctor in disbelief.
LARRY
An injection? What are you talking about? Who gave her that injection?
DOCTOR
I can’t tell you who was responsible without more information. But right now, we need to focus on stabilizing Brooke. Her condition requires emergency treatment, and surgery may be necessary.
BETHANY
Oh my God. My daughter has been going through all of this, and we didn’t even know?
LARRY
Why would Brooke do something like that? Why didn’t she tell us she was in trouble?
DOCTOR
I understand you have questions, but we cannot afford to delay her treatment.
LARRY
Then do whatever you have to do! Please, just save my daughter!
SCENE 5 — THE SHOCKING ONE-MILLION COST
The doctor pauses before explaining the financial situation.
DOCTOR
The procedure and the treatment she may need will be extremely expensive. The estimated amount could reach one million. We’ll need to discuss the financial arrangements with the hospital team as soon as possible.
Larry looks stunned.
LARRY
One million? Doctor, are you telling me I have to find one million before my daughter can get the treatment she needs?
DOCTOR
I’m telling you that the estimated cost is substantial. Please speak with the hospital administration immediately. Her medical team will continue assessing her condition and determine the treatment she needs.
Larry looks toward Bethany, then back at the doctor.
LARRY
I’ll find the money. I don’t care what it takes. Just tell me what I need to do to help my daughter.
DOCTOR
Please contact the hospital administration now. We need to move quickly.
The doctor returns to the emergency department. Larry stands frozen for a moment, trying to process everything.
BETHANY
Larry, how are we going to get that much money? We can’t lose Brooke. She’s our daughter.
LARRY
We’re going to find a way. I’ll call everyone I know. I’ll do whatever I can. I’m not giving up on her.
SCENE 6 — BETHANY BREAKS DOWN IN THE HALLWAY
Larry immediately takes out his phone and begins thinking about whom he can call. His hands tremble as he tries to stay focused.
Bethany watches him, overwhelmed by guilt and fear.
BETHANY
Larry, I keep thinking about how much pain she must have been in before we even realized something was wrong. I should have noticed. I’m her mother.
LARRY
Bethany, don’t blame yourself right now. We don’t know everything that happened. What matters is getting Brooke the help she needs.
BETHANY
But she’s lying in there, fighting for her life, and I can’t do anything to help her!
LARRY
We can help her by staying strong and doing everything possible to get her through this.
Bethany begins crying again. Larry pulls her into a hug, and for a moment, both parents forget every disagreement they’ve ever had.
Their only concern is Brooke.
After a few moments, Larry takes Bethany’s hand.
LARRY
Let’s go see her. I need to tell my baby that we’re here for her.
SCENE 7 — LARRY AND BETHANY VISIT BROOKE
Larry and Bethany enter Brooke’s room after receiving permission from the medical team.
Brooke lies unconscious in the hospital bed, surrounded by monitoring equipment. Her face looks pale, and her parents approach her carefully.
Bethany immediately moves to the bedside and takes Brooke’s hand.
BETHANY
Brooke, sweetheart, it’s Mom. I’m right here, baby.
Her voice breaks as she gently strokes Brooke’s hair.
BETHANY
Please open your eyes. Please, baby. I need to hear your voice again.
Larry stands on the other side of the bed. He looks at his daughter, struggling to hold back his tears.
LARRY
Brooke, it’s Dad. You don’t have to face anything alone, sweetheart. Whatever happened, we’re here for you.
He gently holds her hand.
LARRY
You hear me, baby? We’re going to fight for you. We’re going to get you the help you need, no matter how difficult things become.
SCENE 8 — A MOTHER’S HEARTBREAK
Bethany bends down and kisses Brooke’s forehead.
BETHANY
I’m sorry, sweetheart. I wish I could take all your pain away. Please come back to us.
Larry puts an arm around Bethany as she cries beside the bed.
For the first time in a long while, neither of them argues or blames the other. They stand together, united by their love for their daughter.
Bethany looks at Brooke’s face, hoping for even the smallest sign that her daughter can hear her.
BETHANY
Baby, your dad and I are right here. You mean everything to us. Please don’t give up.
Larry gently squeezes Brooke’s hand.
LARRY
We’re not going anywhere, Brooke. We’re staying right here with you.
SCENE 9 — LARRY PROMISES TO SAVE HIS DAUGHTER
The doctor’s warning continues to echo in Larry’s mind. Brooke’s condition is critical, and the family still has to face the enormous cost of her treatment.
Larry looks at Brooke one more time, determination appearing through his tears.
LARRY
I’m going to find a way, Brooke. I promise you. Just keep fighting, baby.
Bethany holds Brooke’s hand with both of hers, silently praying for a miracle.
Larry looks toward the door, knowing that he must find a way to arrange the money and speak with the hospital administration.
He turns back toward his daughter before taking a deep breath.
LARRY
You’re my daughter, Brooke. I’ll do everything I can to help you.
SCENE 10 — A FAMILY WAITS FOR A MIRACLE
The camera slowly pulls away from the hospital bed as Larry and Bethany remain beside their daughter, terrified of what the next few hours may bring.
The hospital room remains quiet except for the sounds of the monitoring equipment.
Bethany continues holding Brooke’s hand while Larry stands beside them, trying to remain hopeful despite his fear.
They have no idea what the next day will bring, but neither parent is ready to give up on Brooke.
Will Larry manage to arrange the money in time? Will Brooke recover from her dangerous medical complications?
For now, all they can do is wait, pray, and hope that their daughter will open her eyes again.
