Her voice broke as she continued.

Dev tried to approach her.
“Amber, please listen to me.”
She stepped back.
“No! You listen to me for once! You made me believe in love again, and now you are the one reminding me why I stopped believing in the first place!”
She shook her head, crying harder.
“I thought you were different. I thought you understood what loyalty meant. But today, you have reminded me that you are also a man who can betray the person who trusts him.”
“Maybe I was foolish to believe that you would be different. Maybe I was foolish to let myself love you.”
Scene 12: Dev Has No Answer
Dev had never seen Amber this devastated. He wanted to explain himself, but every possible excuse sounded meaningless in his mind.
He knew Amber had trusted him and that she had taken a chance on their relationship despite her previous disappointments.
“Amber, I made a mistake,” he finally said. “I never wanted to hurt you.”
Amber looked at him through her tears.

Dev opened his mouth, but no answer came.

He lowered his eyes. His assistant remained beside the couch, visibly uncomfortable.

Amber turned toward the assistant.
“Did you know about me?” she asked.
