SCENE 1 — THE CRUISE SHIP, LATE EVENING

The ocean stretched endlessly beneath the darkening sky. Gentle waves crashed against the massive cruise ship as passengers enjoyed music, drinks, and laughter.

Away from the crowded entertainment deck, LARRY stood alone near the railing, staring into the distance.

BETHANY appeared behind him, wearing an elegant outfit and a carefully prepared smile.

BETHANY:
Larry, baby, what are you doing out here all alone?

LARRY:
Just getting some fresh air. I needed a little space.

BETHANY:
Come inside with me. Let’s spend some time together.

LARRY:
Not right now, Bethany. I’m good out here.

SCENE 2 — THE INVITATION HE REFUSED

Bethany stepped closer, hoping Larry would finally change his mind. She had imagined this evening going very differently.

BETHANY:
Come on, Larry. Let’s go to the room. We can talk without everybody watching us.

LARRY:
Bethany, I already told you. I don’t want to go to the room with you tonight.

BETHANY:
You don’t feel like spending time with me?

LARRY:
I came on this cruise to enjoy myself. Please stop pressuring me into something I don’t want.

Bethany stared at him in disbelief. His rejection felt more painful than she wanted to admit.

SCENE 3 — BETHANY’S ANGER GROWS

Bethany walked away, trying to control her emotions. Around her, couples laughed and enjoyed the beautiful night.

BETHANY:
How can he do this to me after everything?

She had traveled all this way, imagining that the trip would bring them closer. Instead, Larry continued to keep his distance.

BETHANY:
I came all the way out here because I thought we still had something.

Her sadness slowly turned into resentment. Rather than accepting Larry’s decision, she began blaming him for the future she had imagined.

SCENE 4 — LARRY TRIES TO WALK AWAY

Larry checked his phone and headed toward the quieter end of the deck, hoping to escape another argument.

LARRY:
I just need this night to be over.

Bethany followed him, unable to accept that he wanted to be alone.

BETHANY:
Are you really going to keep ignoring me?

LARRY:
I’m asking you to give me some space.

BETHANY:
Maybe if you cared about my feelings, I wouldn’t have to keep asking for your attention!

SCENE 5 — A DANGEROUS DECISION

The night grew darker. Bethany stood alone, replaying Larry’s words in her mind.

She imagined him finding happiness with another woman and leaving her behind forever.

BETHANY:
You think you can just walk away from me?

For a moment, she could have walked away herself. She could have returned to her cabin and accepted that Larry had made his choice.

Instead, her anger clouded her judgment. She convinced herself that Larry was responsible for the pain she was feeling.

SCENE 6 — THE PUSH THAT CHANGED EVERYTHING

Larry returned to the outer deck, hoping for a few peaceful minutes alone beside the ocean.

LARRY:
Bethany, please. Not again.

BETHANY:
I just want to talk!

LARRY:
We’ve already talked. Please stop following me!

Larry turned and began walking away. Bethany rushed forward in a burst of anger and shoved him from behind.

He stumbled toward the edge, desperately trying to regain his balance.

LARRY:
BETHANY!

His voice disappeared into the darkness as he fell into the ocean.

SCENE 7 — THE OCEAN SWALLOWS THE SECRET

Bethany gripped the railing and stared into the black water below.

BETHANY:
Larry? Please answer me!

She could see nothing. The ship continued moving, and panic overwhelmed her.

A crew member stepped onto the deck and noticed her terrified expression.

CREW MEMBER:
Ma’am, are you all right?

BETHANY:
I think someone fell into the water!

The crew member rushed to the railing and shouted for help. Within seconds, alarms sounded throughout the ship.

SCENE 8 — THE QUESTIONS BEGIN

Crew members secured the area and began asking passengers what they had witnessed.

CREW MEMBER:
Were you with the man before he fell?

BETHANY:
Yes. We were talking.

CREW MEMBER:
Did you see how he went over the railing?

Bethany hesitated. She considered telling the truth, but fear of the consequences overwhelmed her.

BETHANY:
He was walking near the edge. I turned away, and then I heard something.

She lied. And once the first lie escaped her lips, she began building more lies around it.

SCENE 9 — PURNELL HEARS THE NEWS

Purnell was enjoying the evening when an emergency announcement interrupted the music.

PASSENGER:
I heard the missing man’s name is Larry.

PURNELL:
Larry? What happened?

He immediately called his brother. There was no answer.

PURNELL:
Come on, Larry. Pick up!

Then he heard that Bethany had been with Larry just before he disappeared. His concern quickly turned into suspicion.

PURNELL:
Bethany, tell me exactly what happened!

SCENE 10 — A BROTHER’S SUSPICION

Purnell found Bethany sitting near the emergency area. Her hands were trembling, and she avoided his eyes.

PURNELL:
Bethany, I need to know what happened between you and Larry.

BETHANY:
We were arguing. It doesn’t matter anymore.

PURNELL:
Did Larry tell you he wanted to be alone?

Bethany remained silent for too long.

PURNELL:
If you know something, you need to tell the truth.

Purnell walked away, shaken by the possibility that Bethany was hiding something terrible.

SCENE 11 — THE PHONE THAT COULD DESTROY HER

Later that night, Bethany locked herself inside her cabin. She stared at her phone, unable to stop thinking about Larry.

A message suddenly appeared from an unknown number.

UNKNOWN NUMBER:
I know what happened on the deck.

BETHANY:
No. That’s impossible.

Another message arrived.

UNKNOWN NUMBER:
You should tell Purnell the truth before someone else does.

Bethany’s heart pounded. Someone knew more than she had expected.

Then her phone rang. She answered with trembling hands.

UNKNOWN MAN:
Bethany, you need to listen carefully.

BETHANY:
Who are you?

UNKNOWN MAN:
Someone who knows Larry didn’t fall into that ocean by accident.

Bethany’s face went pale.

UNKNOWN MAN:
There’s something else you need to know. Larry might still be alive.

The call ended. Bethany stared at her phone, barely able to breathe.

One final message appeared on the screen.

UNKNOWN NUMBER:
Check the cabin next door. Someone has just returned from the water.

Suddenly, three quiet knocks echoed from the other side of her door.

KNOCK. KNOCK. KNOCK.

A familiar voice whispered through the door.

LARRY:
Bethany… I know you’re in there.

Bethany slowly turned toward the door, her entire body frozen with fear.
