1. A Midnight Decision

It was midnight, and a deep silence hung over the entire mansion. Darkness was spread everywhere—just like the darkness in Brooke’s heart regarding her own life.

Brooke stood by the window in her room, staring at the deserted street. Dry leaves blowing in the wind created an eerie atmosphere. She was utterly fed up with her uncle Larry’s stubborn and controlling nature.

Larry had decided to get Brooke admitted to a prestigious university at any cost. But Brooke’s dreams were completely different. She wanted to dedicate her life to art, not spend her life chasing degrees just to satisfy someone else’s pride.

That sentence became the final straw. Brooke quietly packed a small backpack containing essential clothes, some money, and her precious sketchbooks. At exactly one in the morning, she unlocked the back door and slipped out of the mansion.

2. The Black Car

The cold night air touched Brooke’s face, giving her a brief feeling of freedom. She walked quickly along the deserted road while distant dogs barked and streetlights flickered.

Suddenly, a black car pulled up beside her with a sharp screech of brakes.

Before Brooke could understand what was happening, two masked men jumped out. One blocked her screams while the other forcibly pulled her toward the vehicle.

Brooke struggled desperately, but she could not escape their grip. Within seconds, she was forced into the backseat and the car sped away into the darkness.

Brooke had been kidnapped.

3. Larry Finds an Empty Room

At six in the morning, Larry woke up with the first rays of sunlight. He dressed in his finest suit, grabbed Brooke’s university admission file, and confidently walked toward her room.

There was no response.

Larry knocked harder before finally opening the door. The sight inside immediately destroyed his confidence.

The room was completely empty. Brooke’s bed was untouched, part of the wardrobe was open, and several belongings were missing. On the desk lay her university application form, crossed out with a pen.

Larry’s anger instantly turned into fear and panic.

He searched the entire mansion and questioned the servants. No one knew anything. Then they discovered the back door standing wide open.

4. Regret Takes Over

Larry realized that Brooke had left during the night. He immediately contacted her friends and searched every place where she might have gone.

But there was no sign of her. Her phone remained switched off, and none of her friends had heard from her.

As the hours passed, Larry’s confidence disappeared. His obsession with university and his desire to control Brooke had transformed into overwhelming regret.

He began asking himself the questions he had refused to consider before:

Larry paced through the grand hall, consumed by fear. His thoughts returned again and again to the deserted road and the black car.

Somewhere in the darkness, Brooke had disappeared—and only the men who drove away in that black car knew exactly where she had gone.
