BETHANY REUNITES WITH HER EX-BOYFRIEND — AND BREAKS DOWN IN TEARS IN HIS ARMS! 😭💔
The house is unusually quiet.
BETHANY sits on the couch, staring blankly at the floor. Her eyes are swollen from crying, and her face reflects the exhaustion of someone who has been carrying too much pain for too long.
Her phone rests on the table beside her.
She picks it up, scrolls through old photographs, and stops at a picture of herself with her former boyfriend, JASON.
A faint smile appears on her face, but it quickly disappears.
She remembers a time when she felt loved, protected, and understood.
Now, she feels completely alone.
Suddenly, a knock comes from the front door.
Bethany wipes her cheeks and slowly stands.
Who is it?
Bethany, it’s me.
She freezes.
Her eyes widen as she recognizes the familiar voice she never expected to hear again.
Jason?
She rushes toward the door and pulls it open.
Standing outside is JASON, her ex-boyfriend. He looks at her with concern, immediately noticing the tears in her eyes and the sadness on her face.
For a moment, neither of them speaks.
They simply stare at each other, overwhelmed by the unexpected reunion.
Bethany…
Before he can say anything else, Bethany throws herself into his arms.
She wraps her arms tightly around him and bursts into tears.
Oh my God! Jason!
Jason catches her and holds her close.
Hey, hey. What’s wrong? Why are you crying like this?
Bethany presses her face against his chest, unable to control her emotions.
I can’t do this anymore! I just can’t!
Jason’s expression changes immediately.
He gently rubs her back while she cries against him.
It’s okay. I’m right here. Just breathe, Bethany. You’re okay.
But Bethany continues sobbing.
She has held her pain inside for so long that seeing someone from her past—someone she once trusted completely—finally breaks down the walls she built around herself.
I missed you so much!
Jason closes his eyes for a moment, affected by her words.
I missed you too.
He gently pulls back so he can look at her face.
But, baby, you have to tell me what’s going on. What happened to you?
Bethany looks at him, her lips trembling.
Can you please just hold me for a minute?
Jason doesn’t hesitate.
He pulls her back into his arms.
As long as you need.
Bethany clings to him as though she is afraid that if she lets go, she will lose the only person who makes her feel safe.
Jason helps Bethany sit on the couch.
He sits beside her, keeping one hand wrapped around hers.
She looks embarrassed by how emotional she has become, but Jason doesn’t make her feel ashamed.
You don’t have to hide anything from me. Whatever it is, you can tell me.
Bethany takes a shaky breath.
You remember how things used to be between us?
Of course I remember.
You used to ask me if I was okay, even when I didn’t say anything. You could look at my face and know when something was wrong.
Jason gives her a sad smile.
I knew you better than anybody.
Bethany looks down at their joined hands.
That’s what hurts so much. I had somebody who cared about me, and I still ended up losing him.
Jason becomes quiet.
He remembers their relationship, the arguments they had, and the reasons they eventually went their separate ways.
We both made mistakes, Bethany. Things weren’t perfect between us.
I know. But at least I knew where I stood with you.
Her voice cracks.
I didn’t have to wake up every morning wondering whether somebody was going to hurt me. I didn’t have to pretend I was strong when I was falling apart inside.
Jason studies her face.
Who’s been hurting you?
Bethany hesitates.
She knows that once she starts talking, everything she has tried to bury may come rushing out.
Larry.
Jason’s expression becomes serious.
Larry? What happened with Larry?
Bethany wipes her tears, but more immediately fall.
Everything, Jason. It’s been one thing after another. I tried to make things work. I tried to keep everything together, even when I was hurting.
She shakes her head.
I kept telling myself that if I just tried harder, things would eventually get better.
And did they?
Bethany lets out a bitter laugh through her tears.
No. They got worse.
Jason squeezes her hand gently.
Talk to me.
Bethany takes a deep breath and begins explaining everything she has been going through.
She tells him about the arguments, the tension in the house, the misunderstandings, and the constant emotional pressure that has left her feeling exhausted.
She explains how difficult it has become to trust people and how lonely she feels, even when surrounded by others.
I was trying to keep my life from falling apart, but it felt like everybody expected me to handle everything by myself.
You shouldn’t have had to carry all that alone.
I know, but I didn’t know who else to turn to.
She looks at him with desperate honesty.
And the worst part is that I started believing I deserved it.
Jason immediately shakes his head.
No. Don’t say that.
Bethany looks away.
Listen to me. Whatever happened, whatever mistakes you made, that doesn’t mean you deserve to be miserable.
His words make her cry even harder.
I needed somebody to tell me that.
Jason gently wipes a tear from her cheek.
Then somebody should have told you a long time ago.
The sunlight outside begins to fade.
Bethany has calmed down slightly, but the sadness in her eyes remains.
Jason gets up, walks to the kitchen, and returns with a glass of water.
He hands it to her.
Here. Drink some water.
Bethany takes a few sips.
Thank you.
Jason sits beside her again.
You said there was more. What else happened?
Bethany stares at the glass in her hands.
I lost myself, Jason.
He looks at her carefully.
I used to be happy. I used to laugh without forcing myself. I used to wake up and feel excited about my life.
She pauses.
Now, I wake up wondering what kind of mess I’m going to have to deal with next.
Jason listens without interrupting.
I’ve cried so many nights that I don’t even know what to do anymore. Sometimes, I just sit there and wonder how everything became so complicated.
Why didn’t you call me?
Bethany looks at him.
Because I thought you had moved on.
