Cameron’s House
🚪💔 A quiet afternoon turns into a doorstep confrontation — Cameron’s mom throws Brooke out, and neither boy nor girl gets a say in it.

Scene 1 — Cameron’s House

The afternoon is quiet inside Cameron’s house. Cameron and Brooke sit together in the living room, talking and enjoying each other’s company. Brooke smiles as Cameron tells her something.

CAMERON: I’m glad you came over, Brooke. I really needed someone to talk to.

Brooke looks at him warmly.

BROOKE: I’m glad I came too. I just wanted to spend some time with you.

Cameron smiles. For a brief moment, everything feels peaceful. But they don’t realize someone is watching them. Cameron’s mom stands in the hallway, staring at the two of them. Her expression immediately changes. She looks angry and disappointed. She slowly walks toward the living room.

CAMERON’S MOM: Brooke.

Brooke turns around, surprised.

BROOKE: Yes?

Cameron’s mom looks at her coldly.

CAMERON’S MOM: What are you doing here with my son?

Cameron immediately stands up.

CAMERON: Mom, please. Brooke hasn’t done anything wrong.

His mother ignores him. She walks toward Brooke and picks up Brooke’s bag from the chair. Brooke looks confused.

BROOKE: Ma’am, what are you doing?

Cameron’s mom holds the bag out toward the door.

CAMERON’S MOM: You’re leaving.

Brooke looks at Cameron. Cameron steps forward.

CAMERON: Mom, stop. Brooke is my friend. You can’t just throw her out.

His mother gives him a stern look.

CAMERON’S MOM: I said she’s leaving.

Cameron shakes his head.

CAMERON: But why? She hasn’t done anything to you.

His mother refuses to argue. She takes Brooke gently but firmly by the hand and leads her toward the main door. Brooke looks uncomfortable and shocked by what is happening.

BROOKE: Cameron, I—

Cameron follows them.

CAMERON: Mom! Please listen to me!

His mother opens the front door. She takes Brooke outside and hands her bag to her.

CAMERON’S MOM: Go home.

Brooke looks at her silently. Cameron stands in the doorway, clearly upset.

CAMERON: Mom, you’re being unfair.

His mother turns toward him.

CAMERON’S MOM: I’m protecting my son.

Cameron takes another step toward the door.

CAMERON: You don’t even know what happened between us.

His mother shakes her head.

CAMERON’S MOM: I don’t need to know anything else.

Brooke holds her bag tightly. She looks at Cameron with sadness.

BROOKE: It’s okay, Cameron. Don’t fight with your mom because of me.

Cameron looks at Brooke.

CAMERON: No, Brooke. You shouldn’t have to leave like this.

Cameron’s mom interrupts him.

CAMERON’S MOM: Enough, Cameron.

She points toward the street.

CAMERON’S MOM: Brooke, leave this place and don’t let me see you around my son again.

Brooke looks down for a moment. Then she slowly turns away. Cameron tries to follow her. His mother blocks the doorway.

CAMERON: Mom, please move.

CAMERON’S MOM: No.

CAMERON: Just let me talk to her.

CAMERON’S MOM: I said no, Cameron.

Cameron looks frustrated. He realizes his mother isn’t going to listen to him. Brooke walks a few steps away from the house. She stops and looks back. Cameron is still standing at the door. Their eyes meet. Cameron looks heartbroken. Brooke gives him a small, sad look before turning away again.

CAMERON: Brooke!

She stops.

CAMERON: I’m sorry.

Brooke nods quietly.

BROOKE: It’s not your fault.

Cameron’s mom closes the door. Cameron immediately turns toward her.

CAMERON: Why did you do that?

His mother remains firm.

CAMERON’S MOM: Because I don’t want you getting distracted from your future.

CAMERON: Brooke isn’t distracting me from anything!

His mother doesn’t respond. Cameron looks toward the closed door. His expression changes from anger to sadness. Outside, Brooke walks away from the house with her bag in her hand. She looks back one last time. Then she continues walking. Inside, Cameron stands silently near the door. He knows he tried to stop his mother, but she refused to listen to a single word he said. The room becomes quiet again. But this time, it doesn’t feel peaceful. It feels like something between Cameron and Brooke has just been torn apart.

A door closed between them — but the feeling Cameron and Brooke shared didn’t disappear with it.
