Wayne’s Cost-Cutting Contract Sparks a Revolt
Wayne’s Cost-Cutting Contract Sparks a Revolt
Scene 1 – The Conference Room
A bright morning fills the company headquarters. Every employee gathers around the long conference table, expecting another routine meeting. Some quietly sip coffee while others organize their notes. Nobody realizes the meeting is about to take a dramatic turn.
The conference room door slowly opens. Wayne confidently walks inside carrying a thick stack of contract papers. A smile spreads across his face because he believes he has finally discovered the perfect way to reduce production costs.
WAYNE
Good morning, everyone.

Thank you all for coming today. I’ve spent weeks looking for a way to reduce production costs without shutting down any projects. After discussing everything with management, we’ve prepared a new contract. I simply need each of you to sign it today so the company can move forward.
Wayne begins handing one contract to every woman sitting around the table. The room becomes completely silent except for the sound of papers turning.
Scene 2 – The Contracts Are Read
Lauren carefully reads every page. Charlotte adjusts her glasses and studies the details. Brooke continues reading while Sharra flips through every section. Within moments, smiles disappear from every face.
LAUREN
Wait a minute… Is this serious? Our bonuses have been reduced.
CHARLOTTE
Overtime pay has been removed. Vacation days have also been reduced. This isn’t fair.
BROOKE
You expect us to work longer hours while receiving fewer benefits? Who approved this?
The atmosphere inside the conference room changes instantly. Confusion turns into disappointment, and disappointment quickly becomes anger.
WAYNE
Please… Listen before making a decision. These changes are necessary if we want the company to survive financially.
Scene 3 – The Revolt Begins
Lauren suddenly stands up. She tightly grips the contract before looking directly at Wayne with disappointment.
LAUREN
This isn’t protecting the company. You’re asking loyal employees to sacrifice everything while expecting us to smile and sign. I refuse.
Lauren throws the contract across the table toward Wayne. The paper slides directly in front of him. The room falls silent. Only for a second.
CHARLOTTE
If Lauren isn’t signing… Neither am I.
Charlotte throws her contract toward Wayne. Immediately after her… Brooke throws hers. Then Sharra. Then Lynette. Within seconds every woman angrily throws her contract papers toward Wayne. Papers fly across the room in every direction while Wayne stands frozen in complete shock.
Wayne’s confident smile disappears. His eyes widen as contract papers cover the conference table and scatter across the floor. He never imagined every employee would reject his proposal.
WAYNE
I… I never expected this reaction. I thought everyone would understand why these changes were necessary.
SHARRA
A real leader asks people before making decisions that affect their lives. You didn’t ask us. You simply expected us to obey.
Final Scene – What Will Wayne Do Next?
Wayne slowly looks around the room at the scattered contract papers. He realizes this meeting has become one of the biggest failures of his leadership. Now he faces an important choice: Will he continue defending the unfair contracts, or will he apologize, rebuild trust, and create a better agreement together with his team? The future of the company now depends on Wayne’s next move.
