🎬 INT. BIANCA’S OFFICE – AFTERNOON
The atmosphere inside Bianca’s office is unusually tense. A large conference table
sits in the middle of the room, covered with legal documents, case files, handwritten
notes, and several folders. The blinds are half closed, allowing thin lines of sunlight
to fall across the floor.
Bianca sits behind her desk with a serious expression. Sarah is already sitting in one
of the chairs across from her, quietly waiting for the decision.
The office door suddenly opens.
Bethany walks in first, followed closely by Larry. Bethany looks confident at first,
but the moment she notices Sarah sitting there, her expression changes.
She stops. Larry looks from Sarah to Bianca, immediately sensing the tension.
BETHANY
“What is she doing here?”
Sarah looks at Bethany but says nothing. Bianca remains calm. She closes the file in
front of her and looks directly at Bethany.
BIANCA
“Bethany, please sit down. We need to talk about what happened.”
Bethany refuses to sit. She folds her arms across her chest and stares at Bianca.
BETHANY
“I already know what this is about. You’ve already made up your mind, haven’t you?”
Bianca takes a slow breath. She glances at Sarah before looking back at Bethany.
BIANCA
“I have reviewed the information, the statements, and the evidence. Based on what I’ve
seen, I have to rule against Sarah’s side of the matter.”
Bethany’s eyes widen. For a moment, she looks confused. Then her expression turns
furious.
BETHANY
“Wait. What did you just say?”
BIANCA
“I said that I have made my decision.”
Bethany steps closer to the desk. Her voice becomes louder.
BETHANY
“You’re ruling against Sarah?”
BIANCA
“Yes.”
Bethany turns toward Sarah. Sarah remains seated, trying not to react.
Bethany then turns back toward Bianca.
BETHANY
“This is unbelievable.”
BIANCA
“Bethany, I understand that you’re upset, but this decision is based on the case,
not on personal feelings.”
Bethany lets out a bitter laugh and points toward herself.
BETHANY
“Personal feelings? You think this is about personal feelings?”
“I didn’t do anything!”
BETHANY
“I have done nothing wrong. So why aren’t you standing up for me?”
Bianca remains silent for a few seconds. Bethany waits for an answer. When Bianca
doesn’t immediately respond, Bethany becomes even more emotional.
BETHANY
“I trusted you.”
BIANCA
“And I’m not saying that you intentionally did something wrong. But there are things
in this case that I cannot ignore.”
BETHANY
“No. That’s not good enough. You’re supposed to be helping me.”
BIANCA
“My responsibility is to look at the facts and make the right decision.”
Bethany’s face hardens. Sarah quietly watches the confrontation.
Larry slowly stands.
LARRY
“Bethany, maybe we should leave and talk about this somewhere else.”
Bethany immediately turns toward him. She is shocked by his suggestion.
BETHANY
“You too?”
LARRY
“I’m just saying that getting angry isn’t going to solve anything.”
Bethany stares at him. Then she looks between Larry and Bianca.
BETHANY
“So you’re taking Sarah’s side now?”
LARRY
“I’m not taking anyone’s side. I’m saying that Bianca has to make her decision based
on the evidence.”
Bethany’s jaw tightens. It suddenly feels to her like everyone in the room is against her.
BETHANY
“I cannot believe this.”
She points toward Sarah.
BETHANY
“She’s sitting here, and everyone is acting like I’m the problem.”
SARAH
“I never said you were the problem.”
BETHANY
“Then why are you sitting there looking so satisfied?”
SARAH
“I’m not satisfied. I just want the truth to come out.”
Bethany laughs bitterly.
BETHANY
“The truth?”
She looks at Larry.
BETHANY
“Larry, you hear this?”
Larry nods slightly.
LARRY
“Bethany, please.”
But Bethany is no longer listening. She turns back toward Bianca.
BETHANY
“I came here expecting you to understand me.”
BIANCA
“I do understand that you’re upset.”
BETHANY
“No, you don’t. If you understood me, you wouldn’t be doing this.”
Bianca stands from behind her desk.
BIANCA
“Bethany, I’m not attacking you.”
BETHANY
“It feels exactly like you are!”
⚡ THE TENSION RISES
The entire room becomes silent as Bethany steps closer to Bianca.
BIANCA
“You need to calm down before this gets worse.”
BETHANY
“Why should I calm down when nobody is listening to me?”
BIANCA
“I am listening.”
BETHANY
“Then listen to this!”
Bethany steps directly toward Bianca. Her anger has reached its breaking point.
BETHANY
“I did not do anything. I did not hurt anyone. I did not break any law. So why are you
dragging me into this case?”
Bianca tries to answer.
BIANCA
“Bethany—”
Suddenly, Bethany loses control and slaps Bianca across the face.
😱 THE OFFICE FREEZES
Bianca steps backward in shock. Sarah immediately stands. Larry’s eyes widen.
For several seconds, nobody says a word.
LARRY
“Bethany! What did you just do?”
Bethany looks at him. Her breathing is heavy.
BETHANY
“She pushed me too far.”
BIANCA
“You just assaulted me.”
Bethany points toward the door.
BETHANY
“Then get away from me! Dafa ho jao yahan se! I don’t care about this case anymore!”
Sarah steps forward.
SARAH
“Bethany, stop!”
BETHANY
“Stay out of this!”
Larry tries to calm everyone.
LARRY
“Enough! Everybody needs to stop!”
Bethany looks at Bianca with tears of anger in her eyes.
BETHANY
“When I didn’t get Sarah’s mother arrested, nobody thanked me. Nobody cared what I did
for her.”
Sarah looks down. Larry remains silent.
BETHANY
“I tried to stay out of this situation. I tried to keep everything from getting worse.
And now somehow I’m the one being dragged into this case?”
BIANCA
“Because your actions and your involvement are part of the information we have to consider.”
BETHANY
“I had nothing to do with this!”
BIANCA
“Then you should have nothing to fear from the truth.”
The sentence hits Bethany hard. She stares at Bianca.
BETHANY
“You know what? I’m done.”
She wipes a tear from her cheek.
BETHANY
“I never wanted this case.”
Larry moves toward her.
LARRY
“Bethany, please. Let’s go home.”
Bethany looks at him. For the first time, her anger turns into sadness.
BETHANY
“You really think I’m wrong, don’t you?”
Larry hesitates.
LARRY
“I’m standing beside you, but that doesn’t mean I can tell you that what you did was right.”
Bethany looks away. Her eyes fill with tears.
BETHANY
“I thought you would stand beside me.”
LARRY
“Come on.”
Bethany takes one final look at Bianca before turning toward the door.
BETHANY
“If I didn’t have anything to do with Sarah’s mother being arrested, then why am I being
dragged into this?”
Nobody answers immediately.
Bethany shakes her head and walks out. Larry follows her.
Sarah remains inside the office with Bianca. The atmosphere is heavy.
SARAH
“I never wanted this to happen.”
BIANCA
“Neither did I.”
Outside the office, Bethany walks down the hallway with tears in her eyes.
Larry follows closely behind.
The case is far from over, and Bethany’s explosive reaction may have changed everything.
Larry stops her.
LARRY
“Bethany, we need to talk.”
BETHANY
“What is there left to talk about?”
LARRY
“What happened in there.”
