Delicia, Shayla, and Iman — A Heated Confrontation
SCENE 1 — DELICIA ARRIVES AT WAYNE’S HOUSE
The afternoon is quiet when Delicia arrives at Wayne’s house. She expects an ordinary visit, but the moment she walks inside, she notices something that immediately changes her mood.
Delicia stops in her tracks. Her eyes widen as she sees Shayla sitting closely with Iman. The unexpected sight leaves her shocked and confused.
DELICIA
What is going on here?
Iman looks toward Delicia. He can immediately tell from her expression that she is upset.
IMAN
Delicia, wait. Please don’t jump to conclusions. It’s not what you think.
DELICIA
Not what I think? Then what exactly am I supposed to think when I walk into this house and see you with Shayla?
Shayla remains surprisingly calm. Instead of becoming nervous, she looks directly at Delicia with confidence.
SHAYLA
Why are you so surprised?
DELICIA
Because I never expected to see you and Iman together like this.
SHAYLA
Iman is my boyfriend. I can do whatever I want with him.
Those words leave Delicia stunned. She looks at Iman, waiting for him to explain what Shayla has just claimed.
DELICIA
Your boyfriend?
SHAYLA
Yes. You heard me correctly.
DELICIA
So you’re telling me that you and Iman are actually together?
SHAYLA
That’s exactly what I’m telling you.
Iman stands up, realizing that the situation is quickly turning into a serious confrontation.
IMAN
Both of you, please calm down. We can talk about this.
DELICIA
Iman, I’m talking to you now. If Shayla is really your girlfriend, then why didn’t you tell me?
IMAN
Delicia, there are things you don’t understand yet.
DELICIA
Then explain them!
Iman hesitates. Shayla watches the conversation carefully, while Delicia waits for an answer.
SHAYLA
He doesn’t have to explain anything to you.
DELICIA
This has nothing to do with you anymore.
SHAYLA
It has everything to do with me because Iman is with me.
Delicia looks at Iman one final time. She is clearly hurt by what she has seen and heard.
DELICIA
Fine. But this conversation isn’t over.
SCENE 2 — IMAN VISITS DELICIA
Later that evening, Delicia is at home. She is still thinking about the confrontation at Wayne’s house. She tries to calm herself, but the situation continues to bother her.
Suddenly, there is a knock at the door. Delicia opens it and finds Iman standing outside.
DELICIA
Why are you here?
IMAN
I came here because I want to talk about what happened earlier.
DELICIA
About what?
IMAN
About you seeing me with Shayla.
Delicia allows him inside, but her expression remains cold and disappointed.
DELICIA
Then talk. I’m listening.
IMAN
I know you’re angry, but I never wanted things to happen this way.
DELICIA
You never wanted this? I walked into that house and saw you with Shayla. Then she looked me in the eyes and told me she was your girlfriend.
IMAN
Delicia, please listen to me.
DELICIA
No. You listen to me. I trusted you.
IMAN
And I never wanted to hurt you.
DELICIA
But you did.
Iman lowers his head for a moment. He knows Delicia has every reason to be upset.
IMAN
There’s more to the story.
DELICIA
Then tell me the truth.
IMAN
Shayla and I have been spending time together, but—
DELICIA
But what?
Delicia becomes increasingly frustrated. She feels that Iman has been avoiding the truth.
DELICIA
You came here expecting me to calmly accept everything after what I saw?
IMAN
I came here because I wanted to explain everything.
DELICIA
Then explain it!
The argument reaches its emotional peak. Delicia reacts in anger and slaps Iman. Iman steps back, shocked by the sudden reaction.
DELICIA
Fine! Go to Shayla now!
The room becomes completely silent. Iman looks at Delicia, realizing that the situation has become much more serious than he expected.
IMAN
Delicia, why would you do that?
DELICIA
Because you already made your choice!
IMAN
No. You’re not listening to me.
DELICIA
Then what am I supposed to believe?
IMAN
Believe that I came here because I wanted to fix this.
SCENE 3 — THE TRUTH
Iman takes a deep breath. Instead of arguing, he decides that the only way forward is to finally be honest.
IMAN
Shayla and I have been spending time together, but that doesn’t mean I stopped caring about you.
DELICIA
Then why did you let her say that she was your girlfriend?
Iman pauses. He knows he cannot avoid the question anymore.
IMAN
Because I was confused. I didn’t know what I wanted, and instead of being honest, I kept avoiding the conversation.
DELICIA
And now everyone is hurt because of it.
IMAN
I know. I should have handled everything differently.
DELICIA
Shayla believes you’re her boyfriend.
IMAN
I never promised her that.
DELICIA
But she believes it.
IMAN
Then I need to clear that up.
Delicia remains cautious. She wants to believe Iman, but the events of the day have made trust difficult.
DELICIA
What about me?
IMAN
I came here because I don’t want to lose you because of a situation I failed to handle properly.
DELICIA
Words are easy, Iman.
IMAN
Then I’ll prove it with my actions.
SCENE 4 — IMAN MAKES A DECISION
Iman stands near the door. He knows that another difficult conversation is waiting for him.
IMAN
I’m going to talk to Shayla.
DELICIA
And what are you going to tell her?
IMAN
The truth.
DELICIA
Even if she gets angry?
IMAN
Even then.
Delicia slowly nods. She is still hurt, but she wants Iman to understand that honesty is now the only way to move forward.
DELICIA
If you want me in your life, you have to stop putting me in situations where I have to question everything.
IMAN
You’re right.
Iman walks toward the door. Before leaving, he turns around one last time.
IMAN
Delicia, I know you’re angry with me. But I came here because I didn’t want to walk away without telling you the truth.
Delicia says nothing. She simply watches him leave.

Iman leaves Delicia’s house knowing that his next conversation with Shayla could change everything. Shayla believes she has a relationship with Iman, while Delicia feels betrayed and struggles to trust him again.
