1. A Morning That Changed Everything

The morning sun slowly appeared over the ocean as the luxurious cruise ship continued its journey through the calm blue waters. Most of the passengers were beginning to wake up, preparing themselves for breakfast and another exciting day aboard the ship. But inside Purnell’s room, something was terribly wrong.

Purnell slowly opened his eyes and reached toward the other side of the bed, expecting to find Jade sleeping beside him. Instead, his hand touched an empty pillow. He turned his head and immediately noticed that Jade was nowhere to be seen.

At first, Purnell thought she might have woken up early and gone outside to enjoy the ocean breeze. He sat up, looked toward the bathroom, and called her name.

“Jade? Are you in the bathroom? Come on, it’s time to wake up!”

There was no answer. Purnell got out of bed and checked the bathroom, the balcony, and the small sitting area. Nothing. Jade’s belongings were still there, but she was missing.

A strange feeling began to settle inside him. Jade had not mentioned going anywhere, and he could not understand why she would leave without telling him.

“Where could she have gone this early in the morning?” Purnell whispered.

He grabbed his phone and called her, but there was no response. He tried again, hoping she would answer this time. The call continued ringing until it disconnected.

Purnell’s concern quickly turned into fear. He had no idea that his search for Jade would lead him toward a discovery that could change his life forever.

2. Purnell Searches the Entire Ship

Purnell hurried out of his room and began searching the cruise ship. He checked the nearby corridors, the outdoor seating area, and the places where passengers usually gathered in the morning.

Every time he saw a woman standing alone, he looked more carefully, hoping it would be Jade. But each time, his hopes disappeared. He even asked a member of the ship’s staff whether anyone had seen her.

“Excuse me, have you seen a woman named Jade? She was with me last night, but now I can’t find her anywhere.”

The staff member explained that several passengers had already gone out for breakfast, but he could not confirm whether Jade was among them.

Purnell thanked him and continued searching. He checked the breakfast area, the lounge, and the main passenger corridors. Minutes passed, and his frustration grew.

Meanwhile, Larry was in his own room, trying to act as though everything was perfectly normal. He had barely slept, and every sound outside the door made him nervous.

When Larry heard footsteps moving quickly through the corridor, he approached the door and listened. Then he heard Purnell’s voice asking another passenger whether they had seen Jade.

Larry immediately stepped away from the door. His face became tense, and his thoughts began racing.

“Oh no. Purnell is looking for Jade. What if he finds out what happened last night?”

He tried to calm himself, telling himself that there was still a chance Purnell would leave the ship’s corridors without discovering anything. But deep inside, Larry knew that the situation was getting out of control.

He looked toward the door again, afraid that Purnell might come directly to his room. Larry wanted to avoid him, but he also knew that running away would only make him look more suspicious.

Outside, Purnell was becoming increasingly desperate. He had searched almost everywhere he could think of, yet Jade remained missing. Finally, exhausted and frustrated, he decided to check the rooms and corridors near Larry’s cabin.

3. The Terrifying Discovery Outside Larry’s Room

Purnell walked down the corridor toward Larry’s room. He was not entirely sure why he had chosen that direction, but something told him that he needed to keep searching.

As he approached Larry’s cabin, he suddenly stopped. Something on the floor near the doorway caught his attention.

Purnell took another step forward, and his heart seemed to stop for a moment. Jade was lying motionless on the floor outside Larry’s room, her eyes closed.

“Jade! Oh my God, Jade! Wake up! Can you hear me?”

He rushed toward her and knelt beside her, calling her name repeatedly. He could not understand why she was there or what had happened to her.

For a moment, Purnell hoped she had simply fainted. But when she did not respond, his fear became overwhelming. He immediately called for help and asked the nearby crew to contact the ship’s medical staff.

Then he looked at Larry’s closed door.

His expression changed. Jade was missing from their room, and now he had found her directly outside Larry’s cabin. The coincidence was too disturbing for him to ignore.

“Larry! Open this door right now!”

Purnell knocked hard. When Larry finally opened the door, he looked startled to see Purnell standing there.

Purnell pointed toward Jade, his voice shaking with anger and confusion.

“Why is Jade lying outside your room? How did she get here? What happened to her?”

Larry stared at Jade for a moment before looking back at Purnell. He tried to keep his face expressionless, but his nervous behavior made Purnell even more suspicious.

“I don’t know anything about this,” Larry replied quickly. “I haven’t seen her.”

Purnell slowly stood up. He looked directly into Larry’s eyes, searching for even the smallest sign that Larry was telling the truth.

“You haven’t seen her? Then why do you look so frightened? I’ve been searching for Jade all morning, and now I find her right outside your door!”

Larry swallowed nervously. He tried to explain himself, but his words sounded confused even to his own ears.

Purnell realized that this was no longer an ordinary search for someone who had gone missing. Something had happened during the night, and Larry might know far more than he was willing to admit.

4. Purnell Confronts Larry Face-to-Face

Purnell stepped closer to Larry, unable to hide his anger any longer. He wanted answers, and he wanted them immediately. The thought of Jade being missing throughout the night while Larry claimed to know nothing made him furious.

“Larry, look me in the eyes and tell me the truth. Why was Jade here? What happened between you two?”

Larry shook his head and insisted that he knew nothing. He claimed that he had spent the night in his room and had not seen Jade since the previous day.

But Purnell was no longer convinced. He remembered how nervous Larry had looked when he first opened the door. Larry’s answers were rushed, and he seemed more concerned about defending himself than finding out whether Jade was safe.

“Purnell, you’re making a mistake. I don’t know how she ended up outside my room. Maybe you should stop accusing me and let the crew handle this.”

Purnell stared at him in disbelief.

“Stop accusing you? Jade was missing, and now she’s lying unconscious outside your cabin! You expect me to walk away without asking questions?”

Larry tried to move past him, hoping to escape the confrontation. But Purnell stepped aside only long enough to keep the doorway clear, then demanded that Larry stay and explain himself.

At that moment, a member of the crew arrived to assist Jade. Purnell briefly turned toward them, making sure they understood that she needed immediate medical attention.

When he looked back, Larry was still standing by the door, visibly shaken.

“I know you’re hiding something,” Purnell said quietly. “And I’m going to find out what it is.”

Larry’s eyes shifted toward the corridor. He appeared to be calculating whether he could leave before Purnell asked another question.

Purnell noticed the movement and shook his head.

“Don’t even think about walking away. Tell me what happened last night!”

For several seconds, neither man spoke. The noise of the cruise ship seemed to fade into the background as Purnell waited for Larry’s response.

Larry finally lowered his head. His carefully constructed story was beginning to fall apart, and he could see that Purnell was not going to accept another excuse.

5. Larry Finally Reveals His Secret

Purnell folded his arms and waited. His anger was still visible, but beneath it was a deep fear for Jade’s safety. He needed to know what had happened before the situation became even worse.

“Larry, this is your last chance. Tell me the truth. What did you do?”

Larry remained silent at first. He looked toward the floor, rubbed his face, and took a long breath. He knew that denying everything was no longer working.

Finally, he began to speak.

“Yesterday morning, when I saw Jade, I couldn’t stop thinking about her. Last night, after you had gone to sleep, I went to your room and brought her with me.”

Purnell’s expression changed immediately. He could hardly believe what he was hearing.

“You went into my room while I was sleeping? You took Jade away without telling me?”

Larry nodded, unable to meet his eyes.

He admitted that he had spent the night with Jade and had enjoyed their private time together. But what happened afterward had turned his secret into a nightmare.

According to Larry, he later discovered that Jade had recorded a video of their private moments. He became convinced that she might use the recording to blackmail him in the future.

“When I found out about that video, I panicked,” Larry confessed. “I thought she would use it against me. I was afraid of what would happen if anyone found out.”

Purnell listened in disbelief. His face grew pale as he tried to process Larry’s words.

Larry’s voice became quieter as he admitted that his fear and anger had led him to make a terrible decision. He confessed that he had harmed Jade and left her outside his room.

Purnell stepped backward, overwhelmed by the confession. He looked toward the corridor where Jade had been found, then back at Larry.

“You did this because you were afraid of a video? You put Jade in danger just to protect yourself?”

Larry had no answer that could make his actions understandable. He had allowed panic to take control, and now the consequences were unfolding in front of him.

Purnell could barely believe that the man standing before him was Larry, someone he had known and trusted. Every excuse Larry had offered earlier now sounded like another attempt to hide the truth.

“I can’t believe you,” Purnell whispered. “I trusted you, Larry. How could you do something like this?”

His anger was mixed with shock and sorrow. He had spent the entire morning searching for Jade, hoping to find her safe, only to discover that Larry had concealed a terrible secret.

6. Purnell’s World Falls Apart

For several moments, Purnell could not move. Larry’s confession echoed in his mind, and he struggled to understand how everything had gone so wrong.

Slowly, Purnell sank into a nearby chair. His hands trembled as he looked down at the floor. He had started the morning searching for someone he cared about, believing that the worst possibility was that Jade had simply disappeared somewhere on the ship.

Now he was faced with a truth far more disturbing than anything he had imagined.

“Jade trusted us,” Purnell said, his voice breaking. “She deserved to be safe. And you knew exactly what you were doing when you decided to hide everything.”

Larry tried to speak, but Purnell raised his hand, refusing to hear another excuse.

“Don’t tell me you were scared. Don’t tell me you didn’t know what else to do. You had choices, Larry, and you chose to hide the truth.”

The sounds of the crew moving through the corridor brought Purnell back to the present. He stood up and immediately demanded that the ship’s authorities be informed of Larry’s confession.

Larry’s expression changed. Until that moment, he had hoped that admitting the truth to Purnell might somehow end the confrontation. Now he realized that the situation was much bigger than a private argument between two men.

“Purnell, please. You don’t understand everything that happened,” Larry pleaded.

“Then explain it to the people who are coming to investigate,” Purnell replied. “I’m not covering for you.”

Purnell looked toward the corridor one more time, hoping the medical team would bring some reassuring news about Jade. He could not erase what he had just heard, and he knew that the consequences would follow Larry long after the cruise ended.

When the ship’s staff returned, Purnell informed them that Larry had admitted to being involved in the incident. The situation was no longer something that could be kept secret behind a cabin door.

Larry stood silently as the reality of his actions began to sink in. His fear of being exposed had caused him to make choices that could destroy the lives of everyone involved.

Purnell, meanwhile, remained seated for another moment, trying to collect himself. He had questions that Larry still had not answered, and he desperately wanted to know whether Jade would recover and tell her own side of the story.

Just when Purnell thought he had heard the worst, a member of the medical team returned with an update. Jade had been taken for urgent medical attention, and the crew was working to establish exactly what had happened to her.

Purnell immediately stood up.

“Can she tell us what happened? Is she going to be okay?”

The crew member explained that they could not yet promise anything. Jade needed time and proper medical care, and the investigation would have to establish the full sequence of events.

Purnell looked back at Larry. The confession had answered some questions, but it had also raised others. Why had Jade recorded their private moments? Had she been planning to confront Larry? And was there more to the previous night than Larry had admitted?

Purnell did not want to make assumptions. He wanted the truth to come from the evidence and from Jade herself, if she was able to speak.
