SHARRA’S FINAL WARNING

A CINEMATIC SCREENPLAY

SCENE 1 — SHARRA’S HOUSE — LIVING ROOM — AFTERNOON

The house is quiet.

Sharra sits on the couch, scrolling through her phone. She looks relaxed until a message suddenly appears on her screen.

She reads it once.

Then again.

Her expression changes.

Brooke is going to Philadelphia.

And Sharra was never consulted.

Sharra slowly puts her phone down.

Her eyes narrow.

She stands.

SHARRA

Brooke is going to Philly?

She takes a breath, clearly trying to control her frustration.

SHARRA

And she didn’t even ask me?

Sharra grabs her purse and phone.

She walks quickly toward the door.

Her decision is made.

She is going to confront Brooke herself.

SCENE 2 — BROOKE’S HOUSE — LIVING ROOM — AFTERNOON

Brooke is preparing her things.

A small suitcase sits nearby.

She checks her phone and smiles slightly.

Everything appears to be ready.

Bethany is also there, watching Brooke carefully.

The front door suddenly opens.

Sharra walks inside.

Everyone turns toward her.

Her face is serious.

Brooke freezes.

SHARRA

So you’re really going to Philadelphia?

Brooke looks surprised.

BROOKE

Yes. I am.

Sharra takes a step closer.

SHARRA

And when were you planning to tell me?

Brooke looks uncomfortable.

BROOKE

I was going to tell you.

Sharra shakes her head.

SHARRA

No, Brooke. You already made the decision. You didn’t even consult with me.

Bethany watches the confrontation silently.

Sharra looks directly at Brooke.

SHARRA

Who did you ask before deciding you’re leaving?

Brooke takes a breath.

BROOKE

I don’t need permission to make every decision about my life.

The room becomes quiet.

Sharra looks stunned by Brooke’s response.

SCENE 3 — THE CONFRONTATION — CONTINUOUS

Sharra steps forward.

Her voice becomes firmer.

SHARRA

You may think you’re ready to make this decision, but I’m still going to speak up when I think something isn’t right.

Brooke crosses her arms.

BROOKE

I’m going to Philly because I have plans there.

SHARRA

Plans?

Sharra gestures toward the suitcase.

SHARRA

You packed your bags, made your arrangements, and now everyone is supposed to find out afterward?

Brooke looks away for a moment.

Bethany finally steps into the conversation.

She looks at Sharra.

BETHANY

Who are you to stop Brooke from going?

Sharra turns toward Bethany.

The tension rises immediately.

SHARRA

Excuse me?

BETHANY

You heard me.

Bethany remains calm, but her words are firm.

BETHANY

You can’t just walk in here and decide that Brooke isn’t allowed to go.

Sharra’s expression hardens.

SHARRA

This isn’t your decision either.

Bethany doesn’t back down.

BETHANY

And it’s not yours alone.

Brooke stands between them, visibly uncomfortable.

SCENE 4 — SHARRA LOSES HER PATIENCE — LIVING ROOM

Sharra looks at Brooke.

Then at Bethany.

She takes a deep breath.

Her frustration is obvious.

SHARRA

Everybody keeps talking about Brooke like she’s a decision that belongs to them.

She points toward Brooke’s suitcase.

SHARRA

But nobody is going to pretend this doesn’t matter.

Brooke looks at Sharra.

BROOKE

I understand that you’re upset.

Sharra shakes her head.

SHARRA

I’m upset because you didn’t even talk to me.

Brooke responds quietly.

BROOKE

I didn’t think you would listen.

That sentence hits Sharra hard.

For a moment, she says nothing.

Her expression changes from anger to hurt.

But the frustration quickly returns.

SHARRA

Then maybe you should have given me the chance.

Brooke lowers her eyes.

SCENE 5 — SHARRA MAKES A DECISION — EVENING

The argument continues.

Sharra looks at Brooke and finally makes up her mind.

SHARRA

Brooke, you’re coming with me.

Brooke looks shocked.

BROOKE

What?

SHARRA

We’re going to my house. We need to talk about this without everybody arguing around you.

Brooke looks toward Bethany.

Bethany immediately objects.

BETHANY

You can’t just take her with you.

Sharra turns toward Bethany.

SHARRA

I’m not asking you for permission.

Bethany steps forward.

BETHANY

And I’m telling you that Brooke can make her own decision.

Sharra looks at Brooke.

SHARRA

Brooke, come with me.

Brooke hesitates.

The room falls silent.

After a moment, Brooke picks up her bag.

She walks toward Sharra.

Bethany watches them leave.

SCENE 6 — OUTSIDE THE HOUSE — EVENING

Sharra and Brooke walk toward the car.

Brooke remains quiet.

Sharra opens the passenger door.

Brooke gets inside.

Before closing the door, Sharra looks at her.

SHARRA

We’re going to talk.

Brooke nods slowly.

Sharra closes the door.

She walks around to the driver’s side.

The car pulls away.

Bethany remains standing near the doorway, watching them disappear down the street.

SCENE 7 — SHARRA’S HOUSE — LIVING ROOM — NIGHT

Sharra enters with Brooke.

Brooke places her bag down.

Sharra closes the door behind them.

For a moment, neither speaks.

Then Sharra turns toward Brooke.

SHARRA

I need you to understand why I’m upset.

Brooke looks at her.

BROOKE

Because I didn’t tell you?

SHARRA

Exactly.

Sharra sits down.

Brooke remains standing.

SHARRA

If you’re going to make a major decision, at least talk to me first.

Brooke sighs.

BROOKE

I knew you were going to tell me not to go.

Sharra looks at her.

SHARRA

Maybe I would have.

A pause.

SHARRA

But you still should have talked to me.

Brooke finally sits down.

SCENE 8 — THE TRUTH COMES OUT — NIGHT

The tension begins to soften.

Brooke explains why Philadelphia matters to her.

BROOKE

I feel like Philly is an opportunity for me.

Sharra listens.

BROOKE

I don’t want everyone deciding my future for me.

Sharra nods slowly.

SHARRA

And I don’t want you making a huge decision without thinking about what could happen.

Brooke looks at her.

BROOKE

I have thought about it.

Sharra takes a breath.

SHARRA

Then show me that you’re prepared.

Brooke nods.

The conversation becomes calmer.

But Sharra still isn’t convinced.

SCENE 9 — BACK AT BROOKE’S HOUSE — SAME NIGHT

Bethany sits in the living room.

She is still frustrated.

She picks up her phone and calls someone.

BETHANY

Sharra took Brooke to her house.

She listens.

BETHANY

I know Brooke wants to go to Philly, but Sharra can’t just decide everything for her.

Bethany ends the call.

She looks toward the door.

Her expression remains concerned.

SCENE 10 — SHARRA’S FINAL STATEMENT — NIGHT

Back at Sharra’s house, Brooke sits quietly.

Sharra stands near the window.

She turns around.

Her voice is calm now, but completely firm.

SHARRA

Brooke, I want you to hear me clearly.

Brooke looks up.

SHARRA

I’m not going to stand by while you rush into something without thinking it through.

Brooke nods.

SHARRA

And everyone needs to understand something.

Sharra looks directly at Brooke.

SHARRA

You are important to me.

Brooke’s expression softens.

Sharra continues.

SHARRA

That’s why I’m speaking up.

A long silence follows.

Brooke looks down at her hands.

BROOKE

I understand.

Sharra nods.

But then she adds one final sentence.

SHARRA

And everybody needs to know this: I am not going to let Brooke go to Philadelphia without making sure she’s ready.

The room becomes completely silent.

Brooke looks at Sharra.

The decision is still unresolved.

But one thing is certain.

The argument has only just begun.

SCENE 11 — THE NEXT MORNING — SHARRA’S HOUSE

Morning light fills the room.

Brooke walks downstairs.

Sharra is already awake.

A cup of coffee sits on the table.

Brooke notices a folder beside it containing information about Philadelphia.

She looks surprised.

BROOKE

What’s that?

Sharra looks at the folder.

SHARRA

Everything you need to think about before you leave.

Brooke opens it.

Her expression changes.

BROOKE

You actually looked into all of this?

Sharra nods.

SHARRA

Of course I did.

Brooke closes the folder.

BROOKE

So what now?

Sharra looks at her.

SHARRA

Now we talk.

Brooke sits down.

For the first time, neither of them is yelling.

They are finally listening to each other.

Outside, the morning continues normally.

Inside, Brooke’s future remains uncertain.

Philadelphia is still waiting.

But before Brooke takes that journey, Sharra wants one thing:

To make sure Brooke understands exactly what she is choosing.

And somewhere else, Bethany is already preparing for another confrontation.

Because she has no intention of letting Sharra make the final decision alone.
