The Trip to Philadelphia Turns Into a Family Showdown
A dramatic story about Isaiah, Maria, and an unexpected confrontation.
The Plan to Leave for Philly
Finally, the moment Maria had been worried about arrived.
Isaiah and Maria had made plans to go to Philadelphia, or “Philly,” together. Isaiah had already started preparing for the trip. Brooke had also sent the money they needed, so Isaiah wanted Maria to get ready and leave with him. But he knew Maria could not simply walk away from her family without a serious conversation.
That was why Isaiah decided to visit Maria and talk to her privately. He wanted to convince her that they could make the trip together and start the next chapter of their lives.
A Quiet Conversation
When Isaiah arrived at Maria’s house, he quietly went into her room. Maria looked surprised and a little nervous to see him.
Neither of them realized that someone else was already inside the house.
The Unexpected Discovery
Maria’s father was home.
He had been in another part of the house, completely unaware that Isaiah was sitting in his daughter’s room. As the conversation continued, neither Isaiah nor Maria noticed the footsteps approaching down the hallway.
Suddenly, Maria stopped talking. She looked toward the door.
Isaiah noticed her expression and asked, “What’s wrong?”
Before she could answer, the bedroom door suddenly opened.
Maria’s father was standing there.
The moment he saw Isaiah, his expression changed. He stared at him for several seconds before demanding:
A Talk?
Maria’s father was furious.
The Confrontation
He moved closer to Isaiah and began demanding answers.
Maria tried to defend him.
He picked up Isaiah’s belongings and threw them outside the room.
Maria’s father pointed toward the door.
The Difficult Goodbye
Isaiah picked up his belongings and slowly walked toward the door.
Before leaving, he looked back at Maria.
She stood there with a worried expression, clearly torn between her father and Isaiah. She wanted to say something, but the tension in the room made it difficult.
Isaiah finally walked out.
The door closed behind him.
The Philly trip was still ahead of them, but everything had suddenly become much more complicated.
A New Problem
Isaiah and Maria had thought the hardest part would be making the journey to Philadelphia.
They were wrong.
Before they could even leave for Philly, they now had to face their biggest obstacle: Maria’s angry father.
What happens next could determine whether Isaiah and Maria ever make that trip together.
