ISAIAH’S FATHER DISCOVERS THE TRUTH
EXT. ISAIAH’S FAMILY HOME – LATE AFTERNOON
Golden sunlight stretches across the quiet neighborhood.
Cars pass slowly along the street.
The house looks peaceful from the outside.
But inside, tension is about to explode.
A car suddenly pulls up in front of the house.
The driver’s door opens.
A WOMAN in her forties steps out.
She looks nervous but determined.
She takes a deep breath and walks toward the front door.
This is the MOTHER OF THE GIRL connected to Isaiah.
She reaches the door.
KNOCK. KNOCK. KNOCK.
After a few seconds, the door opens.
ISAIAH’S FATHER stands there.
He looks surprised to see her.
ISAIAH’S FATHER
Can I help you?
The woman looks directly into his eyes.
She hesitates for a moment.
GIRL’S MOTHER
Yes. I need to talk to you about Isaiah.
Isaiah’s father immediately becomes more serious.
ISAIAH’S FATHER
What happened?
The woman looks toward the street before stepping inside.
GIRL’S MOTHER
Can we talk somewhere private?
Isaiah’s father moves aside.
She enters.
He closes the door behind her.
INT. ISAIAH’S FAMILY HOME – LIVING ROOM – CONTINUOUS
Isaiah’s father points toward the couch.
The woman sits down.
He remains standing.
His expression shows concern.
ISAIAH’S FATHER
You’re making me nervous. If something happened, just tell me.
The woman takes a deep breath.
GIRL’S MOTHER
I didn’t want to come here. But I can’t stay quiet anymore.
Isaiah’s father slowly sits across from her.
ISAIAH’S FATHER
What is this about?
She looks down at her hands.
Then she looks back at him.
GIRL’S MOTHER
It’s about my daughter.
Isaiah’s father’s expression changes.
ISAIAH’S FATHER
Your daughter?
GIRL’S MOTHER
Yes. She told me everything.
A long silence fills the room.
ISAIAH’S FATHER
Everything about what?
The woman struggles to find the right words.
GIRL’S MOTHER
She told me about what happened between her and Isaiah.
Isaiah’s father becomes visibly uncomfortable.
ISAIAH’S FATHER
Are you saying Isaiah did something to your daughter?
The woman nods slowly.
GIRL’S MOTHER
I’m saying there was a situation between them that should never have happened.
Isaiah’s father stands up.
His voice becomes louder.
ISAIAH’S FATHER
When did this happen?
GIRL’S MOTHER
Recently. And my daughter has been carrying this around by herself.
Isaiah’s father begins pacing across the room.
ISAIAH’S FATHER
Why didn’t anyone tell me?
GIRL’S MOTHER
Because my daughter was scared. She didn’t know who to trust.
Isaiah’s father stops walking.
ISAIAH’S FATHER
And you’re telling me now?
GIRL’S MOTHER
Yes. Because I believe you deserve to know the truth about your son.
The words hit him hard.
He slowly sits down again.
ISAIAH’S FATHER
What exactly did Isaiah tell you?
GIRL’S MOTHER
He didn’t tell me anything. That’s part of the problem.
Isaiah’s father looks toward the hallway.
His anger begins to rise.
ISAIAH’S FATHER
Where is he?
GIRL’S MOTHER
I don’t know. But you need to speak to him.
Isaiah’s father immediately reaches for his phone.
INT. ISAIAH’S BEDROOM – MOMENTS LATER
Isaiah sits on his bed.
He scrolls through his phone.
Suddenly—
ISAIAH’S PHONE RINGS.
He looks at the screen.
His father’s name appears.
Isaiah answers.
ISAIAH
Hello, Dad?
His father’s voice is cold.
ISAIAH’S FATHER
Come downstairs. Right now.
Isaiah sits up.
ISAIAH
Why?
ISAIAH’S FATHER
Don’t ask questions. Just come downstairs.
The call ends.
Isaiah stares at his phone.
Something feels wrong.
He slowly stands.
INT. LIVING ROOM – MOMENTS LATER
Isaiah walks into the room.
He immediately notices the woman sitting on the couch.
His face changes.
He stops.
ISAIAH
What is she doing here?
His father looks at him.
The disappointment in his eyes is obvious.
ISAIAH’S FATHER
You know why she’s here?
Isaiah says nothing.
ISAIAH’S FATHER
Answer me!
Isaiah looks away.
ISAIAH
Dad, I can explain.
His father shakes his head.
ISAIAH’S FATHER
Explain what?
The woman watches silently.
Isaiah’s father steps closer.
ISAIAH’S FATHER
Her daughter came to her because she was afraid. And now her mother is standing in my house telling me things I should have heard from you.
Isaiah becomes nervous.
ISAIAH
It wasn’t like that.
ISAIAH’S FATHER
Then what was it like?
Isaiah struggles to answer.
ISAIAH
I made a mistake.
His father’s face hardens.
ISAIAH’S FATHER
A mistake?
He takes a breath.
ISAIAH’S FATHER
You don’t get to call something serious a mistake just because you don’t want to face the consequences.
Isaiah looks down.
ISAIAH
I’m sorry.
ISAIAH’S FATHER
Sorry doesn’t erase what happened.
The room becomes completely silent.
The girl’s mother slowly stands.
GIRL’S MOTHER
I didn’t come here to destroy your family. I came because my daughter deserves to be heard.
Isaiah’s father nods.
ISAIAH’S FATHER
And she will be.
He turns back toward Isaiah.
His anger is now mixed with disappointment.
ISAIAH’S FATHER
I raised you to understand right from wrong.
Isaiah’s eyes fill with emotion.
ISAIAH
Dad, please.
ISAIAH’S FATHER
No. You’ve had enough chances.
Isaiah looks shocked.
ISAIAH
What are you saying?
His father points toward the front door.
ISAIAH’S FATHER
You’re leaving this house.
Isaiah freezes.
ISAIAH
Dad, where am I supposed to go?
ISAIAH’S FATHER
I don’t know. But you’re not staying here tonight.
ISAIAH
Please give me one chance to explain.
His father shakes his head.
ISAIAH’S FATHER
You should have thought about that before you put yourself and that girl in this situation.
Isaiah looks toward the woman.
She doesn’t say anything.
He slowly walks toward his bedroom.
INT. ISAIAH’S BEDROOM – MINUTES LATER
Isaiah throws a few clothes into a backpack.
His hands shake.
He stops and looks around his room.
Photos.
Books.
Memories.
Everything suddenly feels different.
He wipes his face.
Then he picks up his backpack.
INT. LIVING ROOM – MOMENTS LATER
Isaiah returns with his bag.
His father stands near the door.
Isaiah stops in front of him.
ISAIAH
Are you really doing this?
His father looks at him.
For a moment, the anger fades.
Only disappointment remains.
ISAIAH’S FATHER
I’m doing this because you need to understand that actions have consequences.
Isaiah lowers his head.
ISAIAH
I never thought you’d throw me out.
ISAIAH’S FATHER
Neither did I.
He opens the front door.
Isaiah steps outside.
Before leaving, he turns around.
ISAIAH
Dad…
His father looks at him.
Isaiah wants to say something.
But nothing comes out.
He finally walks away.
The door slowly closes behind him.
EXT. ISAIAH’S FAMILY HOME – CONTINUOUS
Isaiah walks down the driveway with his backpack.
He looks back at the house.
His eyes are filled with regret.
Inside, his father remains standing near the door.
The girl’s mother looks at him.
GIRL’S MOTHER
I’m sorry this happened.
Isaiah’s father doesn’t answer immediately.
He looks through the window as Isaiah disappears down the street.
ISAIAH’S FATHER
So am I.
He takes a deep breath.
His expression remains troubled.
For the first time, he realizes that his son’s choices have consequences far beyond their family.
The camera slowly pulls away from the house.
Isaiah continues walking alone.
The evening sky darkens.
His future is suddenly uncertain.
FADE OUT.
