Lauren’s Secret Lawyer Meeting

Lauren’s Secret Lawyer Meeting

The Secret That Changed Everything

The Secret Comes Out

Lauren had been holding that secret in her chest all day, and by the time she finally got Wayne on the phone, her voice was already shaking.

Wayne answered with his usual careless tone, like nothing in the world could touch him.

“Yeah, Lauren?”

Lauren looked around her office before speaking. The blinds were half closed, her laptop was still open on the desk, and the papers from the lawyer’s meeting were spread out in front of her like evidence. Her heart beat hard in her chest.

“We need to talk right now.”

Wayne frowned on the other end.

“About what? You sounding too serious for this early.”

The Lawyer’s Meeting

Lauren swallowed before finally revealing why she had called.

“Because this is serious. I just left a meeting with the lawyer.”

That single sentence immediately changed Wayne’s attitude. He had been lounging on his couch, but the moment he heard the word lawyer, all the laziness disappeared from his face.

“What lawyer meeting? Why you meeting a lawyer and not telling me?”

Lauren closed her eyes for a moment before answering.

“That’s exactly what I’m trying to tell you. It was about us.”

Everything Gets Serious

Lauren explained that she had waited because she wanted to understand the situation before saying anything. But according to the lawyer, things could become much more complicated if they did not deal with the situation immediately.

“I didn’t want to say nothing until I knew everything for sure, but the lawyer told me things are about to get messy if we don’t handle this now.”

Wayne became impatient.

“Lauren, stop talking in circles. What did the lawyer say?”

Honey Pot’s Papers

Lauren finally revealed the biggest part of the secret. The papers Honey Pot had filed were legitimate, and Lauren said Honey Pot was prepared to pursue the dispute over property, money, and other assets.

“The papers Honey Pot filed are real. She’s not bluffing. She’s trying to come after everything, Wayne. The house, the money, the cars, all of it.”

Wayne immediately rejected the idea.

“Nah, you lying. Honey Pot would never be able to do all that.”

Lauren’s expression hardened.

“That is exactly why I didn’t want to meet with you first. You keep acting like this is some game. It is not.”

Lauren Defends Herself

Wayne questioned why Lauren had gone to a lawyer without telling him first.

“So you went behind my back and met with a lawyer?”

Lauren refused to accept the blame.

“I went to protect myself. And maybe you should be asking why I had to do that in the first place.”

Wayne became more serious.

“What does that mean?”

Questions About the Money

Lauren explained that the lawyer had asked difficult questions about money transfers, property, signatures, and the timeline of certain decisions.

“He thinks somebody has been moving reckless.”

Wayne’s expression changed.

“Are you saying this looks bad on me?”
“I’m saying it looks bad on both of us if we don’t get honest right now.”

The Truth Comes Out

Wayne wanted to know exactly what Lauren had told the lawyer. She hesitated, and that hesitation immediately caught his attention.

“Lauren… what did you tell him?”

Lauren finally admitted that she had told the lawyer the truth—at least most of it.

“I told him the truth. Mostly.”

Wayne was stunned by the answer.

“Mostly?”

Lauren explained that she had given the lawyer enough information to understand that the situation with Honey Pot had become serious and that both of them needed to be prepared.

Wayne Feels Betrayed

Wayne became angry that Lauren had discussed his business with the lawyer.

“So you really went in there and talked about my business?”

Lauren immediately pushed back.

“Your business? Wayne, I am in the middle of this too. Don’t act like I’m some outsider you can just throw under the bus when things go bad.”

Wayne reminded her that she should have come to him first.

“You should have come to me first.”
“You should have given me a reason to trust you first.”

Silence fell between them. Neither of them had an easy answer.

What Happens Now?

Wayne finally asked the question that had been weighing on him.

“So what happens now?”

Lauren told him that they had a choice: become completely honest with each other, or continue pretending everything was fine while the legal dispute became more complicated.

“Now we decide if we are going to be honest with each other or if we’re going to keep acting like everything is fine.”

The Lawyer’s Warning

Wayne asked Lauren to explain everything the lawyer had said. She told him they needed documentation, timelines, and a clear understanding of what had happened.

“He said if Honey Pot brings those documents in court, then we need our side ready. He said we need receipts, timelines, and a clean story.”

Lauren then delivered the warning that Wayne needed to hear.

“The biggest mistake people make is trying to hide the truth until it’s too late.”

Wayne realized the situation was far more serious than he had initially believed.

Lauren’s Final Warning

Wayne asked what Lauren was really trying to tell him. She took a deep breath before answering.

“I’m telling you that if you care about saving this relationship, and saving yourself, then you need to come clean before somebody else does it for you.”

Wayne was stunned.

“You really think it’s that bad?”
“I know it is.”

The Secret Is Out

For the first time all day, Wayne had nothing to say. Lauren stood in her office, still holding the phone and staring at the lawyer’s papers.

The secret was no longer hidden. The lawyer’s meeting had opened the door to a much bigger problem, and both Wayne and Lauren knew that the situation had changed completely.

Outside the office, people continued walking, laughing, and talking as if everything were normal. But inside that phone call, everything had shifted.

Wayne was shocked. Lauren was finally honest. And the secret of the lawyer’s meeting had become the beginning of a much bigger storm.
