Shayla stood quietly in the living room, staring at Anthony as he sat across from her. For several minutes, neither of them said a word. The tension between them was impossible to ignore.

Shayla finally broke the silence.

“Anthony, please… just tell me what you’ve decided.”

Anthony took a deep breath.

“I’ve been thinking about this for a long time,” he said. “And I know whatever I say next is going to hurt you.”
