BROOKE REVEALS ISAIAH’S BETRAYAL — LARRY CONFRONTS HIM
SCENE 1 — BROOKE’S HOUSE — LIVING ROOM — EVENING
The room is quiet.
Brooke sits on the couch, visibly upset. Her eyes are filled with tears as she struggles to find the right words.
Larry walks into the room and immediately notices that something is wrong.
He stops and looks at Brooke with concern.
LARRY
“What’s wrong, Brooke? You look like something happened.”
Brooke takes a deep breath.
She wipes her tears and looks down at the floor.
BROOKE
“Dad… I need to tell you something about Isaiah.”
Larry’s expression becomes serious.
He sits beside her.
LARRY
“Okay. Tell me what happened.”
Brooke hesitates for a moment.
Her voice begins to shake.
BROOKE
“Isaiah has been cheating on me.”
Larry freezes.
He looks at Brooke in disbelief.
LARRY
“What did you just say?”
Brooke looks up at him.
BROOKE
“He’s seeing another girl, Dad. He’s been in a relationship with her while he was still with me.”
Larry’s expression changes from concern to anger.
He tries to remain calm.
LARRY
“Are you sure about this?”
Brooke nods.
BROOKE
“Yes. I wouldn’t tell you this if I wasn’t sure. I trusted him, Dad. I believed everything he told me.”
Her eyes fill with tears again.
BROOKE
“He made me believe that I was the only one. But I wasn’t.”
Larry clenches his jaw.
He looks deeply hurt for his daughter.
LARRY
“He did this to you?”
Brooke nods silently.
BROOKE
“He betrayed me. He broke my trust, Dad. I don’t even understand why he would do this.”
Larry stands up.
His anger is becoming impossible to hide.
LARRY
“Where is Isaiah?”
Brooke looks at him nervously.
BROOKE
“Dad, please…”
Larry turns toward her.
LARRY
“No. If what you’re telling me is true, he needs to answer for what he did.”
Brooke reaches for Larry’s arm.
BROOKE
“Just don’t make things worse.”
Larry takes a breath.
He knows Brooke is hurting, but his anger is growing.
LARRY
“I’m not going there to make things worse. I’m going there to ask him one question.”
Larry looks directly at Brooke.
LARRY
“Why did he betray my daughter?”
Larry walks toward the door.
Brooke watches him leave, worried about what might happen next.
SCENE 2 — ISAIAH’S HOUSE — LATER THAT EVENING
Isaiah is standing in the living room when he hears a loud knock at the door.
He opens it.
His expression immediately changes when he sees Larry standing outside.
Larry walks inside with a serious expression.
Isaiah looks confused.
ISAIAH
“Larry? What are you doing here?”
Larry stares directly at him.
LARRY
“We need to talk.”
Isaiah notices the anger in Larry’s voice.
ISAIAH
“About what?”
Larry steps closer.
LARRY
“About Brooke.”
Isaiah becomes quiet.
Larry’s eyes narrow.
LARRY
“She told me everything.”
Isaiah looks away.
ISAIAH
“Larry, I can explain.”
Larry immediately responds.
LARRY
“Then explain it.”
Isaiah takes a breath.
ISAIAH
“It’s not as simple as you think.”
Larry shakes his head.
LARRY
“Don’t give me excuses.”
His voice becomes louder.
LARRY
“My daughter trusted you.”
Isaiah looks frustrated.
ISAIAH
“I never wanted to hurt Brooke.”
Larry responds firmly.
LARRY
“But you did.”
The room becomes tense.
Larry takes another step forward.
LARRY
“You were supposed to be honest with her. Instead, you were seeing another girl behind her back.”
Isaiah looks down.
ISAIAH
“I made a mistake.”
Larry immediately answers.
LARRY
“A mistake?”
He shakes his head in disbelief.
LARRY
“You call betraying someone who trusted you a mistake?”
Isaiah becomes defensive.
ISAIAH
“I said I’m sorry.”
Larry’s anger continues to rise.
LARRY
“Sorry doesn’t erase what you did.”
Isaiah looks at Larry.
ISAIAH
“This is between Brooke and me.”
Larry’s expression hardens.
LARRY
“She is my daughter. When someone hurts her, I’m going to ask questions.”
Isaiah takes a step back.
ISAIAH
“I understand that, but you can’t come here and threaten me.”
Larry points toward Isaiah.
LARRY
“I’m not threatening you. I’m demanding an explanation.”
SCENE 3 — THE CONFRONTATION ESCALATES
The tension between them grows.
Neither man wants to back down.
LARRY
“Tell me the truth, Isaiah. Why did you betray Brooke?”
Isaiah remains silent.
Larry waits.
LARRY
“I asked you a question.”
Isaiah finally responds.
ISAIAH
“I didn’t know how to end things with Brooke.”
Larry looks shocked.
LARRY
“So instead of being honest, you started seeing someone else?”
Isaiah doesn’t answer.
Larry shakes his head.
LARRY
“That’s exactly what you did.”
Isaiah becomes frustrated.
ISAIAH
“You don’t know everything that happened between us.”
Larry responds firmly.
LARRY
“Then tell me.”
Isaiah struggles to explain himself.
ISAIAH
“I cared about Brooke. I still care about her. But things between us weren’t the same anymore.”
Larry looks at him with disappointment.
LARRY
“Then you should have told her.”
Isaiah looks down.
LARRY
“She deserved the truth.”
Isaiah raises his voice.
ISAIAH
“I know that!”
Larry immediately answers.
LARRY
“Then why didn’t you tell her?”
Isaiah becomes silent again.
The silence says everything.
Larry shakes his head.
LARRY
“You hurt my daughter because you were too afraid to be honest with her.”
Isaiah becomes defensive once more.
ISAIAH
“I never meant for any of this to happen.”
Larry responds angrily.
LARRY
“But it happened!”
The argument becomes intense.
Both men speak over each other.
ISAIAH
“You don’t have the right to judge me!”
LARRY
“And you don’t have the right to treat Brooke like she doesn’t matter!”
Isaiah takes a deep breath.
ISAIAH
“I made my choice.”
Larry stares at him.
LARRY
“And Brooke is the one who has to live with the consequences of that choice.”
Isaiah looks away.
Larry’s voice becomes calmer, but his words remain firm.
LARRY
“You broke her trust. You hurt her. And you need to understand that your actions have consequences.”
Isaiah finally looks at him.
ISAIAH
“What do you want me to do?”
Larry answers without hesitation.
LARRY
“Tell Brooke the truth.”
Isaiah remains silent.
LARRY
“No more excuses. No more lies. If you don’t want to be with her, then be honest enough to say it.”
Isaiah looks conflicted.
SCENE 4 — OUTSIDE ISAIAH’S HOUSE — NIGHT
Larry walks out of the house.
He stops for a moment and looks back at Isaiah.
Isaiah remains standing in the doorway.
LARRY
“You may have made your choice, Isaiah. But remember one thing.”
Isaiah looks at him.
LARRY
“Brooke trusted you with her heart. You should have respected that trust.”
Larry turns around and walks away.
Isaiah watches him leave.
His expression is filled with regret.
SCENE 5 — BROOKE’S HOUSE — LATER THAT NIGHT
Brooke is sitting quietly in the living room.
She hears the door open.
Larry walks inside.
Brooke immediately stands up.
BROOKE
“Dad… what happened?”
Larry looks at her.
His anger has faded, but his expression remains serious.
LARRY
“I talked to him.”
Brooke waits for his answer.
BROOKE
“What did he say?”
Larry sits beside her.
LARRY
“He knows he hurt you.”
Brooke looks down.
BROOKE
“Did he say why?”
Larry pauses.
LARRY
“He gave me explanations, but none of them change what happened.”
Brooke wipes away a tear.
BROOKE
“I just wanted him to be honest with me.”
Larry nods.
LARRY
“And that’s exactly what you deserved.”
Brooke leans back against the couch.
Larry looks at her reassuringly.
LARRY
“Whatever happens next, don’t let someone else’s choices make you question your own worth.”
Brooke nods quietly.
For the first time that evening, she feels a little less alone.
Larry looks toward the door, still thinking about his confrontation with Isaiah.
The betrayal has changed everything.
And the conflict between Brooke, Isaiah, and Larry is far from over.
