Larry Takes Brooke Home

LARRY TAKES BROOKE HOME

INT. LARRY’S HOUSE – LIVING ROOM – EVENING

The house is unusually quiet.

Larry stands near the window, staring outside.

His phone suddenly vibrates on the table.

He picks it up and listens carefully.

The moment he hears the news, his expression changes.

Brooke is at Cameron’s house.

Larry’s jaw tightens.

He slowly lowers the phone.

LARRY

Brooke is at Cameron’s house?

He takes a deep breath.

His anger begins to rise, but underneath it is fear for his daughter.

Larry grabs his jacket and keys.

He heads toward the door.

LARRY

I’m going to bring her home.

Larry walks out.

EXT. LARRY’S HOUSE – EVENING

Larry gets into his car and starts the engine.

His hands grip the steering wheel tightly.

His face is filled with anger and worry.

He drives toward the police station.

EXT. POLICE STATION – EVENING

Larry parks outside.

He quickly gets out of the car and walks inside.

INT. POLICE STATION – EVENING

Two officers are standing near the front desk.

Larry approaches them with a serious expression.

LARRY

I need your help.

OFFICER

What happened?

Larry takes a breath before answering.

LARRY

My daughter Brooke is at Cameron’s house. I need you to come with me.

The officer notices the seriousness in Larry’s voice.

OFFICER

Do you believe she’s in danger?

Larry hesitates.

His anger mixes with fear.

LARRY

I don’t know what Cameron is planning.

The officer exchanges a glance with the other officer.

OFFICER

All right. We’ll go with you and make sure everyone is safe.

Larry nods.

EXT. POLICE STATION – MOMENTS LATER

A police vehicle pulls out of the station.

Larry follows behind in his car.

The vehicles disappear down the road.

EXT. CAMERON’S HOUSE – NIGHT

Cameron’s house stands quietly under the night sky.

Inside, Brooke sits in the living room.

She looks nervous and keeps glancing toward the window.

Cameron notices her expression.

CAMERON

Brooke, are you okay?

Brooke looks toward the window again.

BROOKE

I don’t know.

She lowers her eyes.

BROOKE

I feel like something is about to happen.

Suddenly—

Police lights flash across the windows.

Brooke looks up.

Cameron freezes.

CAMERON

What the—

A loud knock echoes through the house.

KNOCK. KNOCK. KNOCK.

Cameron slowly walks toward the door.

Brooke stands behind him.

CAMERON

Who is it?

OFFICER

Police. Open the door.

Cameron slowly opens the door.

Larry stands behind the officers.

His face is filled with anger.

Brooke’s eyes widen.

BROOKE

Dad?

Larry looks directly at her.

For a moment, he says nothing.

His anger softens slightly when he sees that Brooke is safe.

Then he turns his attention toward Cameron.

LARRY

Cameron.

Cameron remains silent.

LARRY

Step outside.

CAMERON

Larry, you don’t understand—

LARRY

I understand enough.

The officers step forward.

OFFICER

Cameron, we need you to come with us.

CAMERON

For what?

OFFICER

We need to ask you some questions.

Cameron looks at Brooke.

CAMERON

Brooke, tell them I didn’t do anything.

Brooke looks uncomfortable.

BROOKE

Cameron…

She cannot finish the sentence.

Larry walks toward Brooke.

LARRY

Brooke, come with me.

Brooke stays where she is.

BROOKE

Dad, please.

Larry stops.

His voice becomes calmer.

LARRY

I was worried about you.

Brooke looks down.

BROOKE

I’m okay.

Larry nods slowly.

LARRY

Then come home with me.

Cameron watches them.

The officers move closer to him.

CAMERON

Brooke, don’t let him do this.

Larry turns toward Cameron.

LARRY

This has nothing to do with you anymore.

OFFICER

Come on.

Cameron resists for a moment.

But then he realizes there is nothing he can do.

He walks toward the police vehicle.

Brooke watches him with tears in her eyes.

Larry gently places a hand on her shoulder.

LARRY

Don’t worry about him right now.

BROOKE

Why did you bring the police?

Larry sighs.

LARRY

Because I didn’t know if you were safe.

Brooke’s expression softens.

EXT. CAMERON’S HOUSE – NIGHT

Cameron is escorted toward the police vehicle.

The door opens.

Before getting inside, Cameron turns around one last time.

He looks directly at Brooke.

CAMERON

Brooke…

Brooke takes a step forward.

Larry gently stops her.

LARRY

No.

BROOKE

I just want to talk to him.

Larry shakes his head.

LARRY

Not tonight.

Cameron is placed inside the police vehicle.

The door closes.

The vehicle begins to move.

Brooke watches silently.

Larry stands beside her.

INT. LARRY’S CAR – NIGHT

Brooke sits in the passenger seat.

Larry drives.

Neither of them speaks for several seconds.

The silence feels heavy.

BROOKE

Dad, you’re angry with me.

Larry keeps his eyes on the road.

LARRY

I’m angry because I was scared.

Brooke looks at him.

BROOKE

I didn’t mean to hurt you.

Larry takes a deep breath.

LARRY

You’re my daughter, Brooke.

His voice becomes emotional.

LARRY

When I heard you were at Cameron’s house, I couldn’t just sit there and do nothing.

Brooke wipes a tear from her cheek.

BROOKE

I understand.

Larry glances at her.

LARRY

I just want you to be safe.

Brooke nods quietly.

EXT. LARRY’S HOUSE – NIGHT

The car pulls into the driveway.

Larry turns off the engine.

Brooke remains seated for a moment.

She looks toward the house.

BROOKE

Everything feels different now.

Larry looks at her.

LARRY

Maybe.

A long pause follows.

LARRY

But you’re home.

Brooke looks at him.

For the first time that night, she smiles faintly.

INT. LARRY’S HOUSE – LIVING ROOM – NIGHT

Larry opens the door.

Brooke walks inside.

She stops in the middle of the room.

Larry closes the door behind them.

The house is quiet again.

But this time, Brooke is not alone.

Larry walks over to her.

LARRY

Whatever happens next, we’ll deal with it together.

Brooke looks at her father.

BROOKE

Thank you, Dad.

Larry gently hugs her.

Brooke closes her eyes.

The tension finally begins to fade.

Outside, the police vehicle carrying Cameron disappears into the distance.

Larry holds Brooke tightly.

The night has changed everything.

And neither of them knows what tomorrow will bring.

FADE OUT.
