The News Brooke Never Wanted to Hear
Cameron knew the moment he approached Brooke that she was already struggling. Her eyes were swollen from crying, and she looked emotionally exhausted after everything that had happened with Isaiah. He stood quietly for a few seconds, unsure how to tell her what he had just learned.
Finally, Cameron took a deep breath and gently said, “Brooke, there’s something you need to know. Isaiah has officially left Atlanta. He moved to Philadelphia.”
Brooke froze. For a moment, she didn’t respond. It was as if the words had reached her ears but her heart refused to understand them. Then her eyes filled with tears.
“Philadelphia?” she whispered. “He actually left?”
Brooke’s First Love
The tears quickly began streaming down Brooke’s face. She covered her mouth, trying to hold herself together, but the pain was too overwhelming. Isaiah wasn’t just someone she had dated. He had been her first love—the person who made her believe that someone could truly understand her.
“I loved him so much,” Brooke cried. “He was my first love, Cameron. I gave him everything I had. How am I supposed to just wake up one day and act like he meant nothing?”
Cameron listened without interrupting. He could see that Brooke wasn’t simply grieving a relationship. She was grieving the future she had imagined with Isaiah.
Then Brooke revealed the part that hurt her the most.
“He chose Mariah,” she said through tears. “He didn’t just leave Atlanta. He chose another life. He chose her.”
The Emotional Breakdown
Brooke’s voice became weaker as she tried to explain everything. She told Cameron about their final goodbye, the memories they shared, and how difficult it had been to watch Isaiah walk away.
“I keep thinking maybe he’ll come back,” she admitted. “Maybe he’ll realize he made a mistake. But now he’s gone. He’s actually gone.”
Cameron stepped closer and gently placed a hand on her shoulder. Brooke couldn’t hold herself together anymore. She leaned into him and clung to him for comfort, crying against his shoulder.
Cameron remained calm, giving her a moment to release everything she had been holding inside.
Cameron Gives Brooke a Difficult Truth
“Brooke, I know you love him,” Cameron said softly. “And I’m not going to tell you that you can stop loving someone overnight. But you can’t keep holding onto somebody who has already chosen a different path.”
Brooke pulled back slightly and wiped her tears.
“But what if I wasn’t ready to let him go?”
Cameron looked at her seriously. “Sometimes the hardest part isn’t letting someone go. It’s accepting that they already let you go.”
Those words hit Brooke harder than she expected. She lowered her eyes, realizing that Cameron wasn’t trying to hurt her. He was trying to help her survive the heartbreak.
Larry Sees Something He Never Expected
What Brooke and Cameron didn’t know was that Larry was nearby.
Larry had been watching from a distance when he suddenly noticed Brooke crying while holding onto Cameron. His expression immediately changed.
He stopped walking and stared at them.
“What is going on?” Larry quietly asked himself.
From where he stood, he couldn’t hear the conversation. All he could see was Brooke emotionally clinging to Cameron while tears covered her face.
Larry’s concern quickly turned into suspicion. He knew Brooke had already been struggling emotionally, but seeing her like this made him realize something much deeper was happening.
A Father’s Concern Turns Into Questions
Larry slowly moved closer but stopped before interrupting them. He watched Cameron comforting Brooke and noticed how devastated she looked.
His mind immediately went back to Isaiah.
“Did something happen with Isaiah?” Larry wondered.
He had no idea that Isaiah had officially moved to Philadelphia. He also didn’t know that Brooke had just learned the news.
Larry’s face became serious. He wanted answers, but he could tell Brooke was already emotionally fragile.
For the first time, Larry wondered whether Isaiah’s departure had caused Brooke to completely break down.

Cameron finally noticed Larry standing nearby. His expression changed instantly.
Brooke was still wiping
