The phone rang just after midnight.
Wayne stared at the unknown number before answering.
A cold voice came through the phone.
Wayne remained silent.
The line went dead.
Wayne slowly put the phone down.
He wasn’t going to stay away.
He was going to find out who was behind the warning.
SCENE 1 — WAYNE’S HOUSE — NIGHT
Wayne walked outside. Five men were waiting near the cars.
The men exchanged nervous looks.
Minutes later, the cars disappeared into the darkness.
SCENE 2 — DAN’S LOCATION — NIGHT
Dan was standing outside with several men when headlights suddenly appeared.
The cars stopped. Wayne stepped out with his men behind him.
Silence.
Dan’s smile slowly disappeared.
SCENE 3 — THE CONFRONTATION
Dan’s men moved closer.
The tension became unbearable.
Then, unexpectedly, Wayne slowly dropped to his knees and raised both hands.
Dan stared at him in disbelief.
But Wayne’s eyes told a different story.
He wasn’t surrendering.
He was buying time.
SCENE 4 — LAUREN ARRIVES
Suddenly, a car stopped nearby.
Lauren stepped out and immediately saw Wayne on his knees.
Wayne looked at her with a quiet, reassuring expression.
Dan motioned toward his men.
They began leading Lauren away.
SCENE 5 — THE UNEXPECTED TURN
Dan looked down at Wayne.
Wayne slowly looked up.
A faint smile appeared on his face.
Dan’s expression changed.
Suddenly, headlights appeared in the distance.
Then another set.
Then another.
Several vehicles were approaching from different directions.
Wayne slowly stood up.
Dan stepped backward.

More men stepped out of the approaching vehicles.
Dan’s confidence disappeared.
Wayne looked toward Lauren.
Then one of his men rushed toward him and whispered something in his ear.
Wayne’s face suddenly changed.
“Are you sure?”
The man nodded.
Lauren looked confused.
“Wayne… what’s wrong?”
Wayne didn’t answer.
He stared directly at Dan.
“Dan knows about her.”
Lauren’s eyes widened.
“About what?”
Wayne remained silent.
Then Dan whispered something that only Wayne could hear.
Wayne’s eyes widened.
Whatever Dan had revealed was the real reason Wayne had been warned to stay away from Lauren.
