Larry Catches Brooke Hiding Why She Wants Her Car Keys Back

The Keys Were Still On The Table

Brooke walked into the room determined to get one thing back: her car keys.

She stopped in front of Larry and held out her hand.

“Larry, give me my car keys.”

Larry didn’t even move. He slowly picked the keys up from the table and looked directly at her.

“After everything that happened? No.”

Brooke stared at him.

“I already apologized.”

“That wasn’t an apology,” Larry replied. “That was you saying sorry because you wanted these back.”

Bethany was sitting nearby when she suddenly laughed.

“Girl, you might be waiting a long time.”

Brooke turned toward her.

“Bethany, please stay out of this.”

Bethany smiled. “I’m just watching.”

Larry Starts Asking Questions

Larry placed the keys back on the table but kept one hand over them.

“Let me ask you something. Why do you need the car so badly today?”

Brooke hesitated.

“I have somewhere to go.”

“Where?”

Brooke looked away.

“Just somewhere.”

Larry shook his head.

“That’s exactly the problem. Every time I ask you a simple question, you give me another answer.”

Brooke became frustrated.

“It’s my car!”

“It was given to you for school,” Larry said. “Not so you could disappear whenever you wanted.”

Bethany smiled. “Now we’re getting somewhere.”

The Name Larry Wasn’t Expecting

Brooke reached toward the keys.

“Larry, just give them to me.”

Larry moved them away.

“No. Tell me the truth first.”

Brooke took a deep breath.

“I just need to see somebody.”

“Who?”

Brooke said nothing.

Larry’s expression suddenly changed.

“Isaiah?”

“What?” Brooke quickly replied.

“You’re trying to find Isaiah.”

Brooke’s face went completely still.

Bethany’s smile disappeared.

“Wait… Isaiah?”

Brooke finally admitted it.

“He’s leaving for Philly. I need to talk to him before he goes.”

But Larry Had One More Question

Larry stared at her for a moment.

“Why didn’t you just tell me that?”

“Because I knew you wouldn’t let me go.”

Larry picked up the keys again.

“You’re right. I’m not letting you take this car until I know exactly what you’re planning.”

Brooke stepped closer.

“Larry, you don’t understand. If Isaiah leaves tonight, I may never get another chance.”

Larry looked at her carefully.

“Another chance for what?”

Brooke went completely silent.

THE BIG SUSPENSE

Brooke wanted the car keys for a reason Larry still didn’t know. Was she really only trying to say goodbye to Isaiah before Philly, or was there another secret she was hiding?
