Bethany could see that Larry was still thinking about Sharra and the trouble surrounding Sharra’s mother. She knew Larry had always struggled to completely walk away from people he once cared about, and this situation worried her deeply.

One evening, Bethany finally decided to confront Larry about it. She looked at him seriously and said, “Larry, you need to stay out of Sharra’s mother’s situation. Why do you even need to get involved? Sharra is your ex-wife. You have nothing to do with this.”

Bethany continued, telling Larry that she did not want him getting dragged into a situation that could involve the police. She feared that if Larry helped Sharra or her mother, he could end up facing consequences himself.

“I don’t want to see you going to jail because of someone else’s problems,” Bethany told him. “I would never let you go through that.”

Larry remained quiet for a moment. Bethany’s words clearly made him think. Finally, he sighed and said, “You know what, Bethany? You’re right. Maybe I shouldn’t get involved.”

Later, Sharra arrived at Larry’s house hoping that Larry would stand beside her during one of the hardest moments of her life. She believed that even though she and Larry were no longer together, he still cared enough to help her family.

But when Sharra entered the house, Larry’s attitude was completely different from what she expected.

Larry looked at Sharra and calmly said, “Sharra, I don’t want to get involved in anything concerning your mother.”

Sharra immediately became confused. She asked Larry why he was suddenly refusing to help.

Larry explained that the situation was too serious and that he could not risk becoming involved with the police. Then he said something that completely broke Sharra’s heart.

“Your mother has criminal problems, Sharra. I’m sorry, but I can’t take the side of a criminal,” Larry told her.

For a few seconds, Sharra simply stared at him. She had expected Larry to understand her situation, but instead, she felt as if he had completely abandoned her.

Sharra’s eyes filled with emotion. She couldn’t believe that Larry, someone who had once been such an important part of her life, was now refusing to stand beside her.

With a hurt expression on her face, Sharra said, “Larry, I never expected this from you.”

She reminded him that difficult times were when people needed support the most. According to Sharra, Larry was supposed to understand how much pressure she was under because of her mother’s situation.

“You left me alone when I needed you the most,” Sharra said emotionally. “I know Bethany must have gotten into your head. You listened to everything she said.”

Larry tried to explain that his decision had nothing to do with choosing Bethany over Sharra. He simply didn’t want to become part of a criminal investigation.

But Sharra wasn’t convinced. To her, Larry’s decision felt like a personal betrayal.

Larry then became even more serious. He told Sharra that he could not help her in this matter and asked her to leave his house.

“I’m sorry, Sharra, but there is nothing I can do,” Larry said. “Please go. I don’t want the police showing up here and making this situation even worse.”

Sharra looked at Larry one last time, hoping that he might change his mind. But Larry stood firm.

With tears in her eyes and a broken heart, Sharra slowly walked toward the door. She never imagined that Larry would be the person to turn his back on her when she needed him most.

As Sharra stepped outside, she looked back at Larry. There was pain in her expression, but she said nothing. She simply walked away from the house.

Bethany had been watching the situation closely. When she saw Sharra leaving Larry’s house with a broken expression, she couldn’t hide her happiness.

For Bethany, this was proof that Larry had finally listened to her. Sharra was no longer standing between them, and Larry had chosen to stay away from Sharra’s family problems.

Bethany smiled as she watched Sharra disappear down the road. She believed that everything had finally gone according to her plan.

But what Bethany didn’t know was that Sharra wasn’t leaving without thinking about what had just happened.

Sharra wiped her tears and reached for her phone. Her expression slowly changed from sadness to determination.
