Sharra opens the door and sees Dre standing outside.

“Dre… what are you doing here?”
DRE 😐
“I came because I wanted to talk to you.”
SHARRA
“About what?”
DRE
“Your mother.”

SCENE 2 — THE SERIOUS CONVERSATION

Sharra immediately becomes emotional when Dre mentions her mother.
SHARRA
“I’m trying everything I can. I just need to find a way to get her out.”
DRE
“And who are you expecting to help you?”
Sharra pauses for a moment.
SHARRA
“Larry.”

“Do you really think your ex-husband is going to help you?”

“Why wouldn’t he?”

“You’re forgetting something. Larry went to Montana when Lynette was in jail.”
Dre remains silent.
SHARRA
“He didn’t just sit at home and watch everything happen. He went there.”
“And he helped get Lynette out of jail.”
DRE
“That was different.”
SHARRA
“Why was it different?”
Sharra steps closer to Dre.
SHARRA
“When Lynette needed help, Larry went. Now my mother needs help.
So why wouldn’t he come for me?”

SCENE 4 — DRE WARNS SHARRA

“Larry may care about you. He may care about your daughter.
But that doesn’t mean he is going to risk getting himself involved in this.”
DRE
“This is your mother’s case. You cannot simply expect Larry to fix everything.”
⚠️ “You need to stop putting all your trust in him.” ⚠️
A long silence fills the room.
Sharra’s expression suddenly changes.
SHARRA 😡
“Don’t tell me not to trust Larry.”
DRE
“I’m only trying to protect you.”

SCENE 5 — SHARRA LOSES HER TEMPER

“No. You’re trying to make me believe Larry won’t help me.”
DRE
“I’m telling you what I think is going to happen.”
Dre shakes his head and gives Sharra one final warning.
DRE
“Larry is never going to come, Sharra. You need to accept that.”
Sharra suddenly becomes furious.

Dre steps back in shock. The room becomes completely silent.
SHARRA 😡
“Don’t you ever talk about Larry like that again!”

SCENE 6 — SHARRA DEFENDS LARRY

SHARRA
“He is my ex-husband.”
“And he is the father of my daughter.”
Sharra’s anger slowly turns into determination.
SHARRA
“You think I don’t know Larry? I know what kind of person he is.”
“When Lynette needed him, he went to Montana.”
“He showed up.”

SCENE 7 — DRE LEAVES

DRE
“I hope you’re right.”
DRE
“Because if Larry gets involved and something goes wrong,
you could lose more than you realize.”
Dre slowly walks toward the door.
DRE
“Think carefully before you bring him into this.”
Dre leaves. The door closes.
Sharra stands alone in the living room.

THE PHONE CALL

Sharra picks up her phone.
Larry’s name appears on the screen.
SHARRA
“Larry… I need you.”
She finally presses CALL.
One ring… Two rings… Three rings…
LARRY
“Sharra? What happened?”
SHARRA
“Larry… it’s my mother.”
LARRY
“What about her?”
SHARRA
“She’s still in jail, Larry. I need your help.”
Larry doesn’t answer immediately.
Sharra waits anxiously.
SHARRA
“Please.”
The screen slowly fades to black.
