Sharra, Dre and Larry — A Secret That Changes Everything
SCENE 1 — THE ARGUMENT
INT. SCHOOL HALLWAY — AFTERNOON
The hallway is almost empty. Sharra and Bethany stand facing each other. The tension between them is obvious.
Sharra looks frustrated and hurt. Bethany tries to remain calm, but she can see how upset Sharra has become.
SHARRA
“Please, Bethany. I’m asking you for one thing. Talk to your dad, Mr. Newberger.”
Sharra takes a deep breath.
SHARRA
“He might be able to help my mom. She needs someone to speak up for her. Maybe he can do something to help get her released from jail sooner.”
BETHANY
“Sharra, I already told you. I don’t think my dad can just get involved in this.”
SHARRA
“You don’t even want to try!”
Her voice rises. Bethany looks away.
BETHANY
“I’m sorry, but I can’t promise you anything.”
Sharra stares at her in disbelief.
SHARRA
“I didn’t ask you for a promise. I asked you to help me.”
Sharra turns around and walks away. Bethany watches her leave, feeling guilty.
SCENE 2 — BETHANY REGRETS HER DECISION
INT. BETHANY’S BEDROOM — EVENING
Bethany sits alone on the edge of her bed. The argument keeps replaying in her mind.
She remembers Sharra’s disappointed expression and lowers her eyes.
BETHANY
“What did I do?”
She picks up her phone and thinks for a moment.
BETHANY
“She only wanted me to help her.”
Bethany finally makes a decision.
BETHANY
“I need to apologize. And I need to talk to Dad.”
She grabs her jacket and heads out.
SCENE 3 — THE SHOCKING DISCOVERY
EXT. SHARRA’S HOUSE — EVENING
Bethany walks toward Sharra’s front door. She looks nervous but determined.
She reaches the door and notices that it is slightly open.
BETHANY
“Sharra?”
No one answers.
Bethany slowly steps inside. She hears voices coming from another room.
She moves closer — and suddenly stops.
Bethany’s eyes widen in complete shock.
Sharra is standing with her former boyfriend, Dre. The two are close to each other. Moments later, they kiss.
“OH MY GOD…”
Bethany freezes as she watches them.
Bethany quickly steps behind the doorway. She takes out her phone and starts recording.
Her hands tremble as the camera captures Sharra and Dre together.
She stops recording and stares at the screen in disbelief.
BETHANY
“I can’t believe this…”
SCENE 4 — THE DILEMMA
EXT. SHARRA’S HOUSE — MOMENTS LATER
Bethany quietly leaves the house. She walks down the sidewalk while looking at the video on her phone.
BETHANY
“Larry needs to know.”
She stops and hesitates.
BETHANY
“But should I really show him?”
She looks back toward Sharra’s house.
BETHANY
“Maybe I should talk to Sharra first.”
After a long pause, Bethany looks at the video again.
BETHANY
“No… Larry deserves to know the truth.”
SCENE 5 — LARRY SEES THE VIDEO
INT. LARRY’S HOUSE — NIGHT
Larry is sitting in the living room when his phone suddenly vibrates.
He looks down and sees a message from Bethany.
A video is attached.
Larry presses play.
His expression slowly changes as he watches the footage of Sharra and Dre.
When the video ends, Larry remains silent.
LARRY
“Sharra…”
He watches the video one more time. His emotions are clear, but he stops himself from making an immediate decision.
LARRY
“I need to hear her side.”
SCENE 6 — THE CONFRONTATION
INT. SHARRA’S HOUSE — NIGHT
A knock sounds at the door.
Sharra opens it and finds Larry standing outside.
SHARRA
“Larry?”
LARRY
“We need to talk.”
Sharra immediately becomes nervous.
SHARRA
“About what?”
Larry takes out his phone.
LARRY
“About Dre.”
Sharra freezes.
SHARRA
“How… how do you know about him?”
LARRY
“I saw the video.”
Sharra realizes what has happened.
SHARRA
“Larry, please…”
LARRY
“I want the truth, Sharra. What was going on between you and Dre?”
Sharra takes a deep breath.
SHARRA
“It isn’t what you think.”
LARRY
“Then tell me what it is.”
Sharra struggles to find the right words.
SCENE 7 — BETHANY’S GUILT
INT. BETHANY’S BEDROOM — SAME NIGHT
Bethany sits alone, staring at her phone.
She knows the video has changed everything.
BETHANY
“Maybe I made things worse.”
She remembers Sharra asking her for help earlier that day.
BETHANY
“I wanted to help her… but now everything is falling apart.”
Suddenly, Bethany’s phone rings.
The caller is Larry.
She hesitates before answering.
BETHANY
“Hello?”
LARRY
“Bethany, we need to talk.”
BETHANY
“About the video?”
LARRY
“Yes. Where did you get it?”
Bethany explains that she went to Sharra’s house to apologize and never expected to see Sharra with Dre.
BETHANY
“I thought you needed to know.”
LARRY
“I understand. But sometimes knowing the truth isn’t the same as knowing the whole story.”
SCENE 8 — THE UNEXPECTED TWIST
INT. SHARRA’S HOUSE — NIGHT
Sharra finally looks directly at Larry. Her eyes are filled with emotion.
SHARRA
“Larry, please believe me. There’s something you don’t know.”
LARRY
“Then tell me.”
Sharra takes a deep breath.
Before she can explain, her phone suddenly rings.
She looks at the screen and her expression changes immediately.
SHARRA
“It’s about my mom.”
She answers the call and listens silently.
Her eyes widen.
SHARRA
“What? Are you sure?”
She slowly lowers the phone.
LARRY
“Sharra? What happened?”
Sharra looks at him with tears in her eyes.
SHARRA
“Something happened to my mother.”
Larry immediately becomes concerned.
The argument about Dre suddenly seems less important.
Sharra rushes toward the door while Larry follows her.
