🎉 Scene 1 — The Party

The evening is filled with laughter. Inside the house, everyone is gathered together, enjoying themselves.

Music plays softly while everyone talks and laughs. The atmosphere is warm and cheerful.

Everyone seems happy. Everyone except Shayla.

Shayla quietly walks outside and sits alone.

🌙 Scene 2 — Shayla Sits Alone

The backyard is quiet compared to the noise inside. Shayla sits alone on a bench.

She looks toward the window and watches everyone laughing together.

SHAYLA

Everyone is happy together…

SHAYLA

And I’m sitting here all alone.

Shayla lowers her head, feeling as though nobody notices that she has disappeared.

👀 Scene 3 — Mike Notices

Inside the house, Mike suddenly realizes that Shayla is missing.

MIKE

Where is Shayla?

Mike walks toward the doorway and looks outside. He sees Shayla sitting alone.

His expression immediately becomes serious. He quietly walks toward her.

💬 Scene 4 — Mike Approaches Shayla

MIKE

Shayla…

MIKE

Everyone is inside enjoying themselves. Why are you sitting out here alone?

SHAYLA

Because everyone is happy without me.

MIKE

What makes you think that?

SHAYLA

Look at them. They’re all together, laughing and enjoying themselves. And I’m out here alone.

😔 Scene 5 — Shayla’s Loneliness

SHAYLA

Nobody even noticed that I left.

MIKE

I noticed.

Shayla looks at Mike, surprised.

SHAYLA

You should go back inside.

MIKE

And leave you here alone?

SHAYLA

I’m used to being alone.

MIKE

You shouldn’t have to be.

Mike sits quietly beside Shayla. The laughter from inside can still be heard.

MIKE

You’re not alone.

SHAYLA

You don’t understand.

MIKE

Then help me understand.

Everyone says they’re there for you… but when you really need someone, you’re still alone.

🌹 Scene 7 — Mike’s Confession

Mike reaches into his pocket and takes out a flower.

MIKE

This is for you.

Shayla looks at the flower but doesn’t take it.

MIKE

I know you’re hurting. And I know a flower can’t fix everything.

MIKE

But I want you to know something.

MIKE

Shayla… I love you.

Shayla freezes, unsure how to respond.

💭 Scene 8 — Shayla’s Fear

SHAYLA

Don’t say that.

MIKE

Why?

SHAYLA

Because I’ve heard words like that before.

SHAYLA

People say they love you. They promise they’ll stay. And then they leave.

MIKE

I’m not those people.

SHAYLA

That’s what everyone says.

💔 Scene 9 — Broken Trust

SHAYLA

Do you know what I’ve learned?

MIKE

What?

SHAYLA

I’ve learned that men can’t be trusted.

MIKE

I don’t want to prove you wrong with words. I want to prove it with my actions.

Shayla looks at him, still struggling to believe him.

🌹 Scene 10 — The Flower

Shayla takes the flower from Mike. For a moment, Mike smiles.

SHAYLA

You say you love me…

SHAYLA

But how do I know you won’t become just like everyone else?

MIKE

I want to show you who I really am.

Overwhelmed by her emotions, Shayla angrily pushes the flower against Mike’s face.

The flower falls away. Silence fills the moment.

Shayla expects Mike to walk away. But he doesn’t.

MIKE

I’m not going to fight with you.

MIKE

You are hurt. I can see that.

MIKE

I’m not going to force you to trust me.

MIKE

Trust isn’t something I can demand. It’s something I have to earn.

🌙 Scene 12 — A Moment of Silence

Mike sits quietly beside Shayla. Neither speaks for several moments.

SHAYLA

Why are you still here?

MIKE

Because you asked me to leave… but I don’t think you really want to be alone.

Shayla looks down as a tear rolls down her cheek.

MIKE

I want to be here.

🎶 Scene 13 — The Party Continues

Inside, everyone continues enjoying the evening. Outside, Mike and Shayla remain together.

MIKE

We can go back inside if you want.

SHAYLA

Not yet.

MIKE

Okay.

Mike doesn’t pressure her. He simply stays beside her.

💗 Scene 14 — Shayla Opens Up

SHAYLA

Mike… I’m scared.

MIKE

I’m listening.

SHAYLA

I’m scared that if I trust you, you’ll eventually hurt me.

MIKE

I can’t promise that life will never hurt you.

MIKE

But I can promise that I won’t intentionally break your trust.

🌹 Scene 15 — The Flower Returns

Mike places the flower gently on the bench between them.

MIKE

You don’t have to take it.

MIKE

Maybe someday you’ll be ready.

Shayla stares at the flower. She doesn’t push it away.

✨ Scene 16 — Shayla’s Decision

SHAYLA

Maybe I shouldn’t assume every man is the same.

MIKE

Maybe not.

SHAYLA

But I’m still not ready to trust you.

MIKE

That’s okay.

Shayla looks at Mike, surprised by his answer.

MIKE

I want your trust because you genuinely believe I deserve it.

🌷 Scene 17 — A Small Step

Shayla slowly reaches toward the flower.

She picks it up.

SHAYLA

This doesn’t mean I forgive everything.

MIKE

I know.

SHAYLA

And it doesn’t mean I trust you completely.

MIKE

I know.

SHAYLA

Then why are you smiling?

MIKE

Because you didn’t throw the flower away.

For the first time that evening, Shayla gives a small smile.

Shayla and Mike eventually stand and walk toward the house.

MIKE

SHAYLA

I still feel like they don’t notice me.

MIKE

Then don’t worry about them tonight.

MIKE

Tonight, just remember that someone noticed.
