Amber and Dave Finally Choose Each Other
The Wedding Day Begins
The wedding hall was filled with soft golden lights, beautiful white flowers, and peaceful music. Everything looked perfect, but behind the beautiful decorations was a story that had taken a long time to reach this moment.
Amber stood in front of the mirror, looking at herself in her wedding dress. For a few seconds, she said nothing. Then she smiled.
Her friend said, “You’re really getting married today.”
Amber replied, “I know. Honestly, I still can’t believe it.”
Her friend smiled. “After everything you and Dave went through, I think everybody is surprised.”
Amber looked down at her ring and said, “We both made mistakes. We both said things we didn’t mean. There were moments when I thought we would never speak again.”
Her friend asked, “So what changed?”
Amber smiled softly. “We finally stopped fighting about the past.”
Dave Gets Ready
Across the hall, Dave was getting ready with his friends. He looked nervous but extremely happy.
His friend asked, “You ready?”
Dave laughed. “Ready? I’ve been waiting for this day for a long time.”
His friend shook his head. “After everything that happened between you and Amber, I didn’t think you two would make it here.”
Dave became serious. “Neither did I.”
Dave looked toward the door and took a deep breath.
“But sometimes two people have to lose each other before they understand what they really mean to each other.”
The Message Before the Ceremony
Amber’s phone suddenly buzzed. It was a message from Dave.
Dave: “Are you ready?”
Amber: “I’m trying not to cry.”
Dave: “Don’t cry yet. Save it for when you see me.”
Amber: “Too late.”
Amber smiled at her phone. For the first time, she wasn’t thinking about the arguments they had experienced. She was thinking about the future they were about to build.
Amber Walks Down the Aisle
The music slowly changed. Everyone took their places. Dave stood at the front, waiting.
Then the doors opened.
Amber walked into the room.
For a moment, Dave completely forgot about everything around him. He watched Amber walking toward him, and all the arguments, misunderstandings, and painful memories seemed to disappear.
Dave smiled and said, “You look beautiful.”
Amber replied, “And you look nervous.”
Dave laughed. “I am nervous.”
Amber asked, “Why?”
Dave smiled. “Because this is real.”
Amber looked into his eyes. “It is real.”
The Wedding Vows
The ceremony began. The officiant looked at both of them and spoke about forgiveness, new beginnings, and choosing each other despite the difficult moments.
The officiant said, “Marriage does not mean that two people never make mistakes. It means they decide that their future is more important than the mistakes they made yesterday.”
Dave quietly whispered, “That’s us.”
Amber smiled. “Yes. That’s us.”
Dave’s Promise
The officiant turned toward Dave.
“Dave, do you take Amber to be your wife?”
Dave looked directly into Amber’s eyes and said, “I do.”
Then it was Amber’s turn.
“Amber, do you take Dave to be your husband?”
Amber paused for a moment, looked at Dave, and smiled.
“I do.”
They Finally Let Go of the Past
Before exchanging rings, Dave took Amber’s hand.
Dave said, “Amber, I know we can’t change what happened before today. I know there were times when I hurt you, and there were times when we both let anger speak louder than love.”
“But I don’t want to spend the rest of my life trying to prove who was right. I want to spend it making sure we are okay. I want to wake up knowing that no matter what happens, we will talk, we will listen, and we will choose each other.”
Amber became emotional as she listened to him.
Amber said, “Dave, I used to think loving someone meant never having problems. But I learned that real love is choosing to work through those problems.”
“We lost time because we were holding onto things that should have been left behind.”
“Today, I’m not marrying the person you were during our worst moments. I’m marrying the person standing in front of me now.”
Dave smiled. “And I’m marrying the woman who never gave up on us completely.”
The Rings
They exchanged rings as everyone watched. The room filled with applause.
But just before the officiant announced them as husband and wife, Amber stopped and looked at Dave.
Amber said, “There’s one thing I want to say.”
Dave asked, “What?”
Amber took his hand and said, “I forgive you.”
Dave’s expression softened. “I forgive you too.”
Amber smiled. “And I don’t want to talk about any of it again.”
Dave laughed. “Deal.”
They Become Husband and Wife
The officiant smiled and announced them as husband and wife. Everyone applauded as Dave and Amber shared a joyful kiss.
Later that evening, the reception was filled with music, laughter, and celebration. Amber and Dave sat together at their table, looking at each other with smiles.
Dave said, “You know what’s crazy?”
Amber asked, “What?”
“We spent so much time thinking we were finished.”
Amber smiled. “And now look at us.”
Dave raised his glass. “To forgetting the past.”
Amber raised hers. “And choosing the future.”
The Final Dance
During the reception, Dave stood up and asked everyone for their attention.
“This woman beside me is now my wife. And I want everybody here to know something. We didn’t get here because everything was perfect. We got here because we finally realized that holding onto old problems was keeping us from enjoying what we still had.”
“So tonight, I’m not thinking about yesterday. I’m thinking about tomorrow.”
Amber smiled and said, “And tomorrow, we start over.”
Dave asked, “Together?”
Amber nodded. “Together.”
The music started again. Dave held out his hand.
“May I have this dance, Mrs. Dave?”
Amber laughed. “You’ve been waiting all night to say that, haven’t you?”
“Absolutely.”
She took his hand, and they stepped onto the dance floor.
Under the warm lights, surrounded by family and friends, Amber and Dave slowly danced. For the first time in a long time, neither of them was thinking about who was right or who was wrong.
There was no argument. No jealousy. No old story. Just two people who had finally decided that their future was worth more than their past.
Amber leaned toward Dave and whispered, “We really did it.”
Dave smiled and replied, “We really did.”
Amber looked at him and said, “Then let’s never go back.”
Dave held her hand tighter.
“We won’t.”
And as the music continued, Amber and Dave danced together, beginning the next chapter of their lives as husband and wife.
