He reached for the folder, but before he opened it, he looked at Shayla again.

“Before I read this, I want to know exactly what you’re trying to prove.”

Shayla’s eyes filled with emotion.

Anthony finally opened the folder.

He pulled out the document and began reading. At first, his face showed irritation. He appeared convinced that Shayla had brought him another problem designed to create drama.

D’Nisha soon learned that Shayla had confronted Anthony with DNA results, and she immediately wanted to know what was going on.

“Have you actually read it?”
“Yes, I’ve read it,” Anthony snapped.
“And?”

Anthony refused to give her a direct answer.

That silence made D’Nisha even more uncomfortable.

She looked at Shayla and asked whether the test had been properly conducted and whether the document had been independently verified.

Shayla explained that she wanted the results examined carefully so nobody could dismiss the situation with another excuse.

D’Nisha understood that a DNA report could have serious consequences, but she also knew that rumors and assumptions could destroy relationships just as quickly.
