SCENE 1: BROOKE QUESTIONS SHARRA

INT. SHARRA’S HOUSE — LIVING ROOM — MORNING

The morning is quiet, but Brooke cannot stop thinking about what she witnessed the previous night. She saw Sharra and Dre together in the same room, and now she needs answers.

Brooke enters the living room and finds Sharra checking her phone. Sharra looks calm until Brooke mentions Dre.

BROOKE:

Mom, I need to ask you something. Please don’t avoid the question this time. What were you doing last night?

SHARRA:

What are you talking about, Brooke? I have things to do. If you have something to say, just say it.

BROOKE:

Why were you and Dre in the same room last night? Tell me the truth. Are you cheating, or is there something else you’re hiding?

Sharra puts her phone down. Her expression changes immediately. She did not expect Brooke to question her so directly.

SHARRA:

How dare you question me like that? You saw us in the same room, and now you think you know everything about my life?

BROOKE:

I’m asking because I saw what I saw! If nothing happened, why can’t you explain it to me?

SCENE 2: SHARRA LOSES HER PATIENCE

Sharra crosses her arms and stares at Brooke. Instead of answering, she becomes increasingly defensive.

SHARRA:

Brooke, stay out of this! My personal life is none of your business. You need to stop involving yourself in things you don’t understand.

BROOKE:

Your personal life? You’re my mother! How am I supposed to act like everything is fine when I have questions about what I saw?

SHARRA:

I am your mother, and you need to respect me. You don’t get to interrogate me whenever you feel like it.

BROOKE:

Respect goes both ways, Mom. I’m not trying to control you. I just want an honest answer.

Brooke’s voice trembles with frustration. She had hoped her mother would listen, but Sharra seems more concerned about ending the conversation than explaining herself.

BROOKE:

Were you and Dre hiding something from everyone? Why does it feel like you’re afraid of me finding out the truth?

SHARRA:

That’s enough! You have no idea what you’re talking about. Stop bringing Dre’s name into this conversation!

Brooke takes a step back, stunned by the anger in her mother’s voice. But she refuses to let the matter disappear without an answer.

SCENE 3: BROOKE THREATENS TO TELL LARRY

The tension in the room grows. Brooke looks directly at Sharra, realizing that she may have to involve someone else to get to the bottom of the situation.

BROOKE:

Fine. If you won’t tell me the truth, I’ll tell Larry what I saw. He deserves to know what’s happening.

Sharra freezes. The mention of Larry changes everything. Her eyes narrow, and she takes a quick step toward Brooke.

SHARRA:

Don’t you dare bring Larry into this! This has nothing to do with him.

BROOKE:

Then why are you so worried? If there is nothing to hide, you shouldn’t be afraid of him hearing about it.

SHARRA:

You think you can threaten me in my own house? You need to remember who you’re talking to!

BROOKE:

I’m talking to my mother, someone I thought I could trust. But right now, you’re making me question everything.

Brooke’s eyes fill with tears. She never expected a simple question to turn into a confrontation that could change their relationship forever.

SCENE 4: SHARRA SLAPS BROOKE

Sharra’s anger reaches its peak. When Brooke repeats that she intends to tell Larry, Sharra reacts impulsively and slaps her.

Brooke stands frozen, shocked by what has just happened. She slowly turns back toward Sharra, struggling to believe that her own mother has treated her this way.

BROOKE:

You actually slapped me? All I did was ask you a question!

SHARRA:

You brought this on yourself! I told you to stay out of my business, but you refused to listen.

BROOKE:

You could have explained everything. You didn’t have to do this. I can’t believe you’re treating me like I’m your enemy.

SHARRA:

Listen carefully. If you tell anyone about what happened with Dre, you will regret it. Do you understand me?

Brooke wipes away her tears. Her heart is breaking, but she refuses to let Sharra’s anger erase her right to ask questions.

BROOKE:

You can’t scare me into pretending I didn’t see anything. I deserve the truth, even if you refuse to give it to me.

SCENE 5: SHARRA ORDERS BROOKE TO LEAVE

Sharra points toward the front door, making it clear that she wants Brooke out of the house immediately.

SHARRA:

Get out of my house, Brooke! If you can’t respect my boundaries, you don’t belong here right now.

BROOKE:

You want me to leave because I asked you about Dre? You’re really willing to destroy our relationship instead of telling me the truth?

SHARRA:

I don’t want to hear another word. Leave before this situation gets any worse!

Brooke picks up her belongings and walks toward the door. She looks back one last time, hoping Sharra will stop her or show even a little regret.

But Sharra remains standing in the living room, her arms crossed and her expression cold.

BROOKE:

I don’t know what happened between you and Dre, but I know this isn’t right. One day, the truth will come out.

Brooke walks out and closes the door behind her. Outside, she takes a deep breath, trying to hold herself together. She feels betrayed, hurt, and completely alone.

SCENE 6: WILL BROOKE CALL LARRY?

INT. OUTSIDE SHARRA’S HOUSE — MOMENTS LATER

Brooke stands outside, holding her phone. Larry’s name appears on the screen as she opens her contacts. She knows that telling him could create a serious family conflict, but keeping everything to herself feels impossible.

BROOKE:

Should I tell Larry? He needs to know what happened, but what if Sharra makes things even worse for me?

She remembers Sharra’s angry warning and the shocking moment that ended their conversation. For a few seconds, Brooke considers putting her phone away and walking off without saying anything.

Then she remembers how quickly Sharra turned against her. Brooke realizes that she needs someone she can trust, someone who will listen to her side of the story.

BROOKE:

I can’t keep pretending everything is fine. If I stay silent, Larry may never find out what really happened.

Brooke begins typing a message to Larry, but before she can send it, her phone starts ringing. She looks down at the screen and sees an unexpected name.

Her eyes widen. The timing is strange, and she wonders whether someone already knows about the argument inside Sharra’s house.

Brooke hesitates before answering. Meanwhile, inside the house, Sharra picks up her own phone, realizing that Brooke may not remain silent after all.
