Shayla’s Breaking Point

Wayne’s Secret Podcast Deal Leaves Her Heartbroken

Shayla never imagined that the man she trusted would make such an important decision behind her back. She had stood beside Wayne through difficult moments, supported his ambitions, and believed that their relationship was built on honesty. But everything changed when she discovered that Wayne had invited Dave, Amber, Anthony, and D’Nisha to Los Angeles for a podcast contract without telling her anything about it.

For Shayla, the pain was not simply about a business opportunity. It was about being excluded, overlooked, and made to feel as though she no longer mattered to someone she had trusted with her heart.

The Secret Comes to Light

The truth came out unexpectedly. Shayla learned that Wayne had arranged the entire opportunity and had already involved several people in the plans. Everyone seemed to know what was happening except her.

At first, she refused to believe it.

Shayla: “Wait a minute. You’re telling me that Dave, Amber, Anthony, and D’Nisha are all going to Los Angeles because of this podcast contract, and you never thought to tell me?”

Wayne looked uncomfortable. He knew that Shayla was upset, but he seemed unprepared for the depth of her reaction.

Wayne: “Shayla, listen to me. It’s a business opportunity, and things happened quickly. I was trying to get everything organized before making a big announcement.”
Shayla: “An announcement? Wayne, I’m not a stranger you can update whenever you feel like it. How could you make plans this important and leave me completely in the dark?”

Wayne tried to defend himself.

Wayne: “I wasn’t trying to hurt you. I thought I was doing what was best for the deal.”

But his explanation only made Shayla feel worse. She had expected honesty from him, not excuses after the truth had already come out.

“Why Do You Keep Making Me Feel Like I Mean Nothing?”

Tears began rolling down her cheeks. She turned away, trying to collect herself, but the disappointment had become too overwhelming to hide.

Shayla: “You know what hurts the most? It’s the fact that I had to find out about something this important instead of hearing it from you. Everyone else gets included. Everyone else gets an opportunity. And somehow, I’m the person who gets left behind.”

Wayne stepped closer, hoping to calm her down.

Wayne: “Shayla, please. Don’t think that you mean nothing to me.”
Shayla: “Then why do you keep making me feel like I mean nothing?”

Her question silenced him.

Shayla could not understand how Wayne expected her to trust him when he had failed to communicate something that could affect their professional relationship. She wondered whether the support she had given him had ever meant as much to him as it had meant to her.

Shayla: “I have been standing beside you. I believed in you. I trusted you. Whenever you needed support, I was there. But now I find out that you’re making plans with everybody else, and you couldn’t even give me the respect of telling me yourself.”

Wayne sighed.

Wayne: “You’re taking this the wrong way. This contract could be good for everyone involved.”
Shayla: “Everyone? You keep saying everyone, Wayne. But did you ever stop to think about me?”

He had no answer that could immediately repair the damage.

The Pain of Feeling Left Behind

The more Shayla thought about the situation, the more abandoned she felt. It seemed to her that the people she had trusted were moving forward while she was being left behind to deal with the disappointment alone.

Shayla: “I’m tired of feeling like I’m always the last person to know. I’m tired of pretending that things don’t hurt me just because you have an explanation for everything.”

Wayne attempted to reassure her again.

Wayne: “We can work this out. We don’t have to let one contract ruin everything.”
Shayla: “One contract? You still don’t understand. This isn’t just about a piece of paper. It’s about what that paper represents. It represents a decision you made without me, a conversation you never had with me, and an opportunity you never even discussed with me.”

The Moment She Tears Up the Old Contract

Her voice broke as she looked toward the documents connected to their previous contract. For a moment, she simply stared at them. Those papers reminded her of the professional understanding she had once believed they shared. Now, they seemed to represent promises and expectations that had lost their meaning.

With tears streaming down her face, Shayla picked up the old contract.

Shayla: “Maybe I was foolish to believe that we were on the same page.”
Wayne: “Shayla, don’t do this.”

But she was too hurt to stop. Holding the documents between her hands, she began tearing the previous contract apart. The sound of the paper ripping filled the room as she pulled the pages into pieces.

Wayne watched in shock.

Wayne: “What are you doing?”

Shayla continued tearing the papers, her hands trembling.

Shayla: “I’m done holding on to something that makes me feel unwanted. If you can make decisions about our future without me, then I don’t know why I should keep pretending that our agreement still means the same thing.”
Wayne: “Please, just put the papers down. We can talk about this.”
Shayla: “You had the chance to talk to me before all of this happened, Wayne. You had every opportunity to tell me the truth. But you chose not to.”

Wayne reached for the remaining pages, but Shayla held them tightly before tearing them into smaller pieces.

“Everybody Has a Place Except Me”

Shayla: “I feel like everybody has moved on and forgotten about me. Dave, Amber, Anthony, D’Nisha—everybody has a place in these plans. And now I’m sitting here wondering why I was the only person you didn’t think deserved to know.”

For the first time, Wayne seemed to realize that his decision had damaged more than a business arrangement. He had shaken Shayla’s confidence in their relationship and made her question whether she could trust him again.

Wayne: “Shayla, I never wanted you to feel alone.”

She wiped her cheeks, but fresh tears continued to fall.

Shayla: “Wanting something and actually doing something are two different things, Wayne. You say you care, but your actions keep telling me something else.”

The room fell silent.

Shayla looked down at the torn contract scattered between them. She had hoped that Wayne would recognize her value without forcing her to demand basic honesty and respect. Instead, she felt as though she had been pushed aside while everyone else prepared for a new opportunity in Los Angeles.

Shayla: “I don’t know what happens next. But I know I can’t keep pretending that everything is fine when it isn’t.”

She turned away, still crying, while Wayne remained beside the broken pieces of their old agreement.

Wayne had a new opportunity in front of him, but he might have just lost the trust of the person who once believed in him the most.

The podcast contract might have represented a promising new chapter for Wayne and the people he had invited to Los Angeles. For Shayla, however, the secret had opened a painful question: if she could be excluded from something this important, how much of their trust had already disappeared?
