A Dramatic Story • Part One
Libby’s Breaking Point
Kendrick pushes too far in Natasha’s office—and one shocking moment threatens to expose a secret that could change everything.
1. An Unwelcome Arrival
It was supposed to be an ordinary day in Natasha’s office. Natasha was reviewing a stack of important documents, Terry sat nearby, and Kendrick leaned back in his chair with the confident, teasing expression everyone had come to recognize. Nothing seemed unusual—until Libby walked through the door.
Libby looked tired and troubled. She had come to speak with Natasha, hoping to discuss something important and leave without any drama. But the moment Kendrick noticed her, a knowing smirk spread across his face.
“Well, well, look who decided to show up,” Kendrick said loudly.
Libby ignored him and started toward Natasha’s desk. Kendrick, however, had no intention of letting her pass in peace.
2. Kendrick’s Cruel Taunts
“Libby, why can’t you ever stay out of trouble with men?” Kendrick called after her. “One minute you’re going to Terry, and the next you’re coming to me. What exactly do you want?”
Libby stopped. The accusation stung, especially because it was being made in front of Terry and Natasha. She turned around, trying to keep her voice steady.
Instead of backing down, Kendrick laughed. “What’s wrong? Don’t like hearing the truth? You want everyone to think you’re innocent, but I know what you’re really like.”
Libby’s expression tightened. She had hoped he might stop if she refused to engage, but every time she stayed quiet, he seemed more determined to embarrass her.
3. Terry and Natasha Step In
Terry rose from his seat. “Kendrick, that’s enough. Can’t you see she’s already upset? You don’t have to turn everything into a joke.”
Kendrick turned toward him, irritated that someone had challenged him. “Why are you taking her side? Do you think everything she says is right?”
“I’m not taking sides,” Terry replied firmly. “I’m telling you that you’ve crossed a line.”
Natasha set her documents down and stood as well. Her voice was calm, but there was no mistaking the authority behind it.
Yet Kendrick refused to stop. He continued making personal remarks, acting as if the warnings around him meant nothing. Libby tried to hold herself together, but the hurt in her eyes became impossible to miss.
4. Libby Reaches Her Limit
“What have I ever done to you?” Libby finally asked, her voice trembling. “Why do you keep trying to humiliate me in front of everyone?”
“I’m only saying what everyone can see,” Kendrick replied with another dismissive smile.
That was the moment Libby’s patience finally gave way. Near the edge of the desk sat a kettle containing hot water. In a burst of anger and distress, she reached for it.
“Libby, don’t!” Terry shouted, jumping forward.
Natasha hurried around the desk. Kendrick’s smirk vanished as he realized Libby was no longer simply arguing with him. He stepped back, suddenly uncertain.
“What are you doing?” he demanded. “Put that down!”
Libby’s hands shook as she struggled to contain her emotions. “You think you can say whatever you want? You think my feelings don’t matter? I’ve asked you again and again to stop!”
5. A Moment Nobody Can Take Back
Terry moved closer, keeping his voice firm. “Libby, put the kettle down. Whatever happens next, you don’t want to make this worse.”
But the room had become a storm of anger, fear, and hurt. In the confusion, Libby tipped the kettle, and hot water splashed toward Kendrick. He cried out and stumbled backward, shocked by what had happened.
“Libby! What have you done?” Kendrick shouted.
Terry quickly took the kettle away and placed it safely on the desk. Natasha guided Kendrick away from the spill and immediately called for medical assistance. Everyone’s attention shifted from the argument to making sure nobody was in further danger.
Only moments earlier, Kendrick had been laughing at Libby. Now he stood stunned, his confidence gone. The office fell silent except for the hurried voices of Terry and Natasha as they checked what help was needed.
6. The Argument Turns Personal
Terry looked at Libby, angry and shaken. “Do you understand how dangerous that was?”
Libby wiped her tears away. “Do you understand how long he’s been hurting me in front of everyone? I asked him to stop. I only wanted to be left in peace.”
For a moment, Terry had no answer. Natasha asked Libby to sit down and take a breath while she made sure Kendrick was being helped. The room felt completely different now. No one was laughing, and no one seemed sure what to say next.
Kendrick looked from Libby to Terry. His expression hardened, but there was uncertainty beneath his anger.
Libby’s face went pale. “Kendrick, don’t you dare bring that up here!”
Terry turned toward her, stunned. “What is he talking about, Libby? What haven’t you told me?”
Natasha watched them both, realizing that the confrontation was no longer just about cruel remarks or a terrible mistake. Something deeper had been hiding beneath the surface all along.
To Be Continued…
Kendrick opened his mouth to reveal the secret, while Libby desperately tried to stop him. Terry waited for an explanation, and Natasha stood frozen between them.
What is Libby hiding—and will Terry’s trust in her survive the truth?
