SCENE 1: DAVE MEETS YAYA’S FRIEND

The house is filled with laughter as Yaya welcomes Dave into the living room. Her friend is sitting on the couch when Dave walks in. The moment he sees her, he stops. He recognizes the woman immediately. She is his ex-girlfriend, someone he once loved deeply.

YAYA

Dave, come inside! I want you to meet my friend properly.

DAVE

Wait a minute. Is that really you?

YAYA’S FRIEND

Dave? I can’t believe this! It’s been such a long time.

Yaya looks between them, surprised by their reaction. Dave sits down, trying to hide his emotions, but the memories of their past are already returning.

YAYA

Hold on. You two already know each other?

DAVE

Yes, Yaya. We knew each other a long time ago. We have quite a history together.

SCENE 2: BEAUTIFUL MEMORIES RETURN

Yaya goes into the kitchen to bring refreshments, leaving Dave and his ex-girlfriend alone. The silence between them feels familiar. Dave remembers their long conversations, their laughter, and the promises they once made.

DAVE

I never expected to see you again. I thought our paths would never cross.

Can I talk to you for a minute?

YAYA’S FRIEND

Of course. What’s on your mind?

DAVE

Ever since I saw you today, I haven’t stopped thinking about us. I thought those feelings belonged to the past, but now I’m not so sure.

She turns toward him, surprised by his honesty.

YAYA’S FRIEND

Are you telling me that you still have feelings for me?

DAVE

Yes. Seeing you again reminded me of everything we shared.

YAYA’S FRIEND

What about Amber? You can’t forget that she’s part of your life.

Dave becomes quiet. He knows Amber deserves honesty, but he has not resolved his own feelings.

DAVE

I know things are complicated. But I want another chance with you.

His ex-girlfriend looks at him in disbelief. Before she can respond, Dave reaches into his pocket and takes out a small ring box.

SCENE 4: AN UNEXPECTED PROPOSAL

Dave opens the box, revealing a sparkling ring. He gets down on one knee. His ex-girlfriend covers her mouth, overwhelmed by the unexpected moment.

DAVE

I know our past wasn’t perfect, and I know we cannot erase everything that happened. But I still remember how happy we were together.

He looks up at her, holding the ring box carefully.

DAVE

YAYA’S FRIEND

DAVE

SCENE 5: AMBER CATCHES THEM

WHAT IS GOING ON HERE?

Dave freezes. Amber stands at the entrance, staring at Dave on one knee with a ring box in his hand. She immediately assumes another woman is trying to take her man.

AMBER

Dave, are you serious right now? What do you think you’re doing?

DAVE

Amber, wait! Let me explain what you’re seeing.

AMBER

And you! You think you can accept a proposal from my man?

YAYA’S FRIEND

Please, you don’t understand what’s happening.

AMBER

I don’t understand? I can see exactly what’s happening!

Consumed by anger, Amber rushes forward and grabs Yaya’s friend by her hair, pulling her backward. The woman cries out in surprise as Dave quickly gets to his feet.

YAYA’S FRIEND

Amber! Let go of me!

DAVE

Amber! Stop it! Let her go right now!

Amber releases her, but she continues shouting, unaware that she has misunderstood the situation.

AMBER

Dave belongs to me! He is mine, and nobody is going to take him away from me!

SCENE 6: DAVE REVEALS THE TRUTH

Dave stands between the two women. The ring box remains in his hand, and the tension is unbearable.

DAVE

Amber, you need to calm down. You haven’t even allowed me to explain.

AMBER

Explain what? That you were about to marry another woman while I’m still in your life?

DAVE

You don’t know the whole story.

AMBER

Then tell me! Who is she, and why are you proposing to her?

Dave hesitates before finally revealing the truth.

DAVE

She’s Yaya’s friend, but she’s also my ex-girlfriend. We were together a long time ago.

Amber stares at him, shocked by the confession.

AMBER

Your ex-girlfriend? And you thought it was a good idea to propose to her again?

DAVE

Seeing her brought back feelings I thought were gone. I need to be honest about that.

AMBER

So you’ve been with me while your heart has been somewhere else?

Dave has no immediate answer. Amber realizes that the real problem is not simply another woman. Dave has made a choice that could destroy their relationship.

SCENE 7: YAYA DISCOVERS THE SHOCKING TRUTH

Yaya hears the shouting and rushes outside. She finds Amber furious, Dave holding a ring box, and her friend visibly shaken.

What happened? Why is everybody shouting?

YAYA’S FRIEND

Dave recognized me as his ex-girlfriend. We talked about our past, and he told me he still had feelings for me. Then he proposed.

Yaya turns toward Dave in disbelief.

Dave, you proposed to my friend? What about Amber?

DAVE

I know this looks terrible. I should have thought about the consequences.

YAYA

This isn’t just about how it looks. You’re involved with Amber, and now you’re asking another woman to marry you!

AMBER

I want to know whether he’s been hiding his feelings for her behind my back.

YAYA’S FRIEND

I haven’t even given him an answer. I was completely surprised. I need time to think.

Everyone falls silent. The proposal has turned into a painful confrontation, and nobody knows what will happen next.

SCENE 8: A LOVE TRIANGLE WITH NO ANSWERS

Dave closes the ring box. He looks at Amber, then at his ex-girlfriend, finally understanding that neither woman can simply ignore what has happened.

DAVE

I know I’ve created a mess. I can’t expect either of you to trust me just because I say I’m confused.

AMBER

Then tell me the truth. Do you still love her?

Dave looks toward his ex-girlfriend. His memories are beautiful, but he knows memories alone cannot decide his future.

DAVE

I still have feelings for her. But I need to understand what those feelings mean before making another promise.

Amber’s expression changes. Her anger is now mixed with disappointment and heartbreak.

AMBER

She turns and walks toward the house. Yaya follows her, hoping to prevent the situation from getting worse.

DAVE

I don’t have an answer right now. I need to take responsibility for my choices.

YAYA’S FRIEND

She walks away, leaving Dave alone with the ring box. Through the glass doors, Amber watches from inside, wondering whether their relationship can ever recover.
