THE PROPOSAL THAT TURNED INTO A NIGHTMARE
SCENE 1 – A DREAM PROPOSAL
Location: Atlanta – A Beautiful Wedding Venue
The evening was filled with romance. Beautiful decorations, glowing lights, and elegant flowers surrounded Dave and Amber.
Dave stood in front of Amber, holding a beautiful engagement ring. His eyes were filled with emotion as he slowly got down on one knee.
DAVE
Amber, you’ve brought so much happiness into my life. I’ve made mistakes, but one thing I’ve never doubted is how much you mean to me. I don’t want to spend another day imagining my future without you.
He opened the ring box.
DAVE
Will you marry me?
Amber covered her mouth in surprise. Her eyes filled with tears as everyone around them waited for her answer.
AMBER
Dave… I don’t even know what to say. This is something I never expected.
DAVE
You don’t have to say anything complicated. Just tell me if you’ll spend the rest of your life with me.
Before Amber could answer, a loud voice interrupted the beautiful moment.
SCENE 2 – OMNI’S SHOCKING ENTRANCE
OMNI
STOP! Dave cannot marry Amber!
Everyone immediately turned toward the entrance. Omni was standing there, visibly pregnant, with anger and determination written across her face.
AMBER
Omni? What are you doing here?
OMNI
You really thought you could get down on one knee and propose to another woman without telling her the truth?
DAVE
Omni, what is this? Why are you here?
OMNI
Because there’s something everyone deserves to know. I’m pregnant, Dave!
A wave of shock spread through the crowd.
OMNI
And the baby I’m carrying is yours!
Amber stepped backward, unable to believe what she had just heard.
SCENE 3 – AMBER’S WORLD FALLS APART
Amber looked at Dave, desperately waiting for him to explain. AMBER Dave, please tell me she’s lying. Tell me there’s some kind of misunderstanding. DAVE Amber, listen to me. I know this looks terrible, but I can explain everything. AMBER Explain what, Dave? That another woman is standing in front of me claiming she’s carrying your baby? OMNI You deserve to know the truth, Amber. I didn’t come here to watch another woman accept a ring from the father of my child. AMBER So while you were talking about marriage and building a future with me, you already had another situation going on? DAVE I never wanted to hurt you. AMBER But you did. And you did it in front of everyone.
SCENE 4 – OMNI REVEALS MORE
Omni looked directly at Dave.
OMNI
You can’t keep running away from your responsibilities. You knew about me, Dave. You knew there was something between us, and now you have to face the consequences.
DAVE
Omni, this isn’t the way to handle this. You should have spoken to me privately.
OMNI
Privately? And when exactly were you planning to tell Amber? After the wedding?
AMBER
Is she telling the truth? Did you know about this pregnancy?
Dave hesitated. That hesitation was enough to make Amber’s heart sink.
AMBER
Oh my God…
DAVE
Amber, I wanted to tell you. I just didn’t know how.
AMBER
You had plenty of opportunities, Dave. You had every opportunity to be honest with me!
SCENE 5 – AMBER WALKS AWAY
Amber slowly removed her engagement ring and looked at it for a moment. The same ring that had made her so happy just minutes earlier now reminded her of everything she had discovered.
DAVE
Amber, please don’t do this. We can work through this together.
AMBER
Together? Dave, I don’t even know who I’m standing in front of anymore.
DAVE
I love you. That hasn’t changed.
AMBER
Then why didn’t you tell me the truth?
Amber placed the ring on a nearby table.
AMBER
I came here thinking you were offering me a future. Instead, I found out that you were hiding an entire part of your life from me.
She turned away. Dave called her name, but Amber kept walking.
SCENE 6 – DAVE IS LEFT WITH QUESTIONS
Dave stood frozen as he watched Amber disappear. Omni remained nearby, holding her stomach.
OMNI
Dave, we need to talk about our baby.
DAVE
Omni, do you understand what just happened? You destroyed the most important moment of my life!
OMNI
I didn’t destroy anything. You created this situation yourself.
DAVE
I need time to understand everything. I can’t process all of this right now.
OMNI
You have to accept that things are different now. There’s a child involved.
Dave looked down at the engagement ring Amber had left behind.
SCENE 7 – AMBER DISAPPEARS
Location: A Quiet Road Outside Atlanta
Hours later, Amber was sitting alone in her car. Her phone kept lighting up with calls from Dave.
AMBER
How could he do this to me? How could he stand there and promise me forever when he was hiding something so important?
She wiped away her tears and started the car. She decided she needed distance from Atlanta, from Dave, and from everyone who had witnessed that moment.
She drove toward a quiet place far away from the city.
SCENE 8 – DAVE TRIES ONE LAST TIME
Back in Atlanta, Dave continued calling Amber. Finally, he sent her a message.
DAVE
Amber, please answer me. I know I owe you the truth. I never wanted things to happen this way. Please give me one chance to explain everything.
Amber read the message. For a moment, she considered replying. But the memories of Omni’s announcement returned to her.
AMBER
I can’t keep listening to promises. I need to know the truth, and right now I don’t know if I can ever trust him again.
Meanwhile, Dave sat alone, realizing that his proposal had changed everything.
SCENE 9 – A NEW BEGINNING OR THE END?
Location: A Quiet House Far Away From Atlanta
Amber finally arrived at a peaceful place where nobody knew what had happened. She stepped outside and looked at the unfamiliar surroundings.
Her phone rang again. It was Dave. This time, she declined the call.
AMBER
I’m done running after explanations. If Dave wants to fix anything, he needs to start by telling the truth.
Back in Atlanta, Dave looked at the ring box. He had planned to begin a new chapter with Amber, but Omni’s shocking revelation had changed the future for all three of them.
Omni wanted Dave to accept his responsibilities as the father of her unborn child. Amber wanted answers and distance. And Dave was left wondering whether he had permanently lost the woman he wanted to spend his life with.
