Dave Wants One Thing: The Divorce Papers
Anthony refuses to give up the property. Dave refuses to leave without the divorce. But Amber is hiding something that could change everything.
SCENE 1 — THE DEMAND
The evening was quiet until Amber walked toward Anthony’s front door with Dave beside her.
Amber looked nervous, but Dave was completely focused. He was carrying a folder in his hand.
Neither of them had come to negotiate.
Anthony opened the door and immediately noticed the tension between them.
ANTHONY: “What are you two doing here?”
AMBER: “Anthony, we need to talk about the divorce.”
Anthony folded his arms.
ANTHONY: “The divorce is one thing. The property is another.”
Dave stepped forward and placed the folder on the table near the doorway.
DAVE: “Then let’s make this simple. Keep the property.”
Anthony stared at him, clearly surprised.
DAVE: “We don’t want your house. We don’t want your money. We want the divorce papers.”
SCENE 2 — ANTHONY’S REFUSAL
Anthony picked up the folder and opened it. Inside were documents related to the property.
He slowly looked through the papers before placing them back on the table.
ANTHONY: “You think you can walk in here and demand a divorce like this?”
DAVE: “I’m not demanding anything from you except what needs to be signed.”
Amber stepped between them.
AMBER: “Anthony, please. This doesn’t have to turn into another argument.”
ANTHONY: “Then why is he here?”
Amber became silent.
Anthony noticed her reaction immediately. His expression changed. He knew there was something
they were not telling him.
Anthony pointed toward the property documents. “You want half of my property, Amber. And now
he suddenly wants the divorce finalized tonight. Something isn’t adding up.”
SCENE 3 — THE PROPERTY WAR
Amber took a deep breath.
AMBER: “I asked for fifty percent because I believe I’m entitled to it.”
ANTHONY: “And I already told you no.”
Dave shook his head.
DAVE: “Anthony, you’re making this harder than it needs to be.”
ANTHONY: “No. You’re making it suspicious.”
Dave’s expression hardened.
DAVE: “What exactly do you think I’m hiding?”
ANTHONY: “I don’t know yet. But I know you’re in a hurry.”
The room suddenly went silent.
Anthony looked directly at Amber.
ANTHONY: “Tell me the truth. Why does Dave need these divorce papers so badly?”
Amber looked at Dave. Dave looked back at her.
SCENE 4 — THE SECRET
For several seconds, nobody spoke.
Finally, Amber reached for the folder.
AMBER: “Anthony, there is something you don’t know.”
Anthony’s face became serious.
ANTHONY: “I knew it.”
DAVE: “Amber, don’t.”
Anthony immediately stepped closer.
ANTHONY: “Don’t what? Tell me what?”
Amber opened her mouth, but before she could speak, Dave stopped her.
DAVE: “The divorce has nothing to do with your property.”
ANTHONY: “Then what is it about?”
Dave looked at the divorce papers in his hand.
“Because once these papers are signed, Anthony, you are going to find out exactly what Amber has been keeping from you.”
SCENE 5 — THE CLIFFHANGER
Anthony reached for the papers, but Dave pulled them back.
ANTHONY: “Give me those papers.”
DAVE: “Not until you hear the truth.”
Amber stood frozen between the two men.
Anthony stared at her and lowered his voice.
ANTHONY: “Amber, if you have been hiding something from me, tonight is the night I find out.”
Amber’s eyes filled with fear.
Dave slowly opened the folder and pulled out one final document. Anthony looked at it and
suddenly stopped breathing for a moment.
It wasn’t a property paper.
It wasn’t the divorce agreement.
It was a document with Amber’s name on it.
And whatever was written on that page could change the divorce, the property, and all three of their lives forever.
