Wayne, Erica & Lauren Story
The Podcast Begins
The podcast studio is busy as Wayne prepares for another episode.
WAYNE
“Erica, you did a great job today. You really know how to keep the conversation going.”
ERICA
“Thank you. I was nervous at first, but everyone made me feel comfortable.”
Wayne smiles while Erica prepares to leave.
Wayne’s Attention
Wayne continues talking to Erica, but his attention toward her becomes noticeable.
WAYNE
“You should come back more often.”
ERICA
“Maybe. If the podcast needs me.”
WAYNE
“It definitely needs you.”
Erica realizes that Wayne’s attention feels different from a normal professional conversation.
A Visit to Wayne’s House
Later that evening, Wayne arrives home with Erica. Lauren isn’t there.
ERICA
“Are you sure it’s okay for me to come inside?”
WAYNE
“Yeah. You can wait here until you figure out your ride.”
Erica slowly enters the house while Wayne closes the door.
Lauren Is Coming Home
Inside the quiet house, Erica suddenly hears a car outside.
ERICA
“Is that Lauren?”
WAYNE
“She wasn’t supposed to be back yet.”
Erica immediately picks up her bag, worried that Lauren might misunderstand the situation.
Lauren Walks In
Lauren enters the house and notices Erica’s belongings near the entrance.
LAUREN
“Wayne? Who’s here?”
Lauren walks through the hallway and suddenly sees Wayne and Erica together.
LAUREN
“Erica?”
Erica becomes nervous. Wayne realizes that the situation is about to become serious.
Lauren’s Anger
LAUREN
“You brought her here?”
WAYNE
“Lauren, listen. Nothing happened.”
LAUREN
“Then why is she here with you?”
Lauren’s voice becomes filled with anger and disappointment.
ERICA
“Lauren, I can explain. I didn’t mean for this situation to happen.”
The Trust Is Broken
LAUREN
“This isn’t just about Erica. This is about you making a choice and expecting me not to question it.”
WAYNE
“I understand.”
LAUREN
“I don’t know if I believe you.”
Erica quietly leaves the house. Wayne remains standing in silence while Lauren walks away.
Wayne’s phone suddenly rings. He looks at the screen but doesn’t answer.
The room becomes completely silent as Wayne realizes that Lauren’s trust in him has been damaged.
