Dave’s Secret
Property Strategy

A quiet plan, a signature, a wedding — and a property battle that hasn’t even started yet.

Scene 1 — Dave’s House · Living Room · Evening

The Plan Before the Papers

The room is quiet. Amber sits on the couch, looking down at a stack of divorce papers, her expression conflicted. Dave stands near the window, thinking carefully.

Amber

Anthony says he’ll only give me ten percent of the property if I agree to the divorce.

Dave

Then don’t fight him over the property right now.

Amber looks confused.

Amber

What do you mean?

Dave walks toward the couch and sits across from her.

Dave

I mean, don’t take your share from Anthony right away. Your priority should be getting him to sign those divorce papers as quickly as possible.

Amber

But ten percent is nowhere near what I believe I deserve.

Dave

I know. But right now, the divorce papers matter more than the percentage.

Amber remains silent. Dave continues.

Dave

If Anthony signs the papers, the marriage between you and Anthony is over. Then you and I can move forward with our own lives.

Amber

And then?

Dave leans forward.

Dave

Then we get married.

A long silence fills the room.

Amber

You’re saying we should stop arguing over the property for now?

Dave

Exactly. Once the divorce is finalized and our circumstances change, we can talk to a lawyer about what rights may exist regarding Anthony’s property. But don’t let the property dispute stop you from getting the divorce completed.

Amber

So you want me to accept less for now just to get him to sign?

Dave

I want you to think about the bigger picture.

Amber looks back at the papers. Her uncertainty begins turning into determination.

The Signature

Anthony stands near the fireplace, holding the divorce papers. Amber sits across from him. The tension between them is obvious.

Anthony

You came here for your answer.

Amber

Yes.

Anthony places the papers on the table.

Anthony

I told you what I’m willing to offer. Ten percent.

Amber looks at the papers. For a moment, she remembers Dave’s advice. She slowly reaches for the pen.

Amber

Fine.

Anthony

You’re accepting it?

Amber

I just want this chapter of my life to end.

Anthony studies her carefully, then picks up the pen. The room becomes completely silent. He signs the divorce papers. Amber watches every movement. The moment the signature is complete, she exhales.

Anthony

It’s done.

Amber looks at the signed papers. A small smile appears on her face.

Amber

Yes. It’s finally done.

Anthony looks away. Amber walks toward the door. Her expression changes as soon as she steps outside — she immediately reaches for her phone.

Scene 3 — Dave’s House · Night

Step One, Finished

Dave opens the front door. Amber stands outside, holding the signed divorce papers. She smiles.

Amber

He signed.

Dave freezes for a second, then a relieved smile crosses his face.

Dave

He actually signed?

Amber

He did.

Dave

Then the first step is finished.

Amber

Your plan worked.

Dave

Our future is what matters now.

Amber

I knew you had a plan.

Dave

Now we have to be patient and handle everything properly.

Amber looks at him with admiration.

Scene 4 — Wedding Ceremony · Day

A New Beginning

Soft music plays. Family and friends gather as Amber and Dave stand together. Amber walks toward Dave, her face filled with happiness. They exchange vows.

Dave

I promise to stand beside you through whatever comes next.

Amber

And I promise to build a new life with you.

The ceremony concludes. Everyone applauds. For Amber, it feels like the beginning of a completely new chapter.

Scene 5 — Dave and Amber’s Home · Evening

Waiting, Not Forgetting

Several weeks have passed. Amber sits at the dining table, reviewing documents. Dave enters carrying a folder and places it on the table.

Amber

What’s that?

Dave

Documents related to the property situation.

Amber

I thought you said we should wait.

Dave

We are waiting. But waiting doesn’t mean forgetting. We need to understand the situation before making another move.

Amber

Anthony only gave me ten percent.

Dave

And that is why we should not rush into anything.

Amber

I still feel like I gave up too much.

Dave

I understand. But decisions involving property can become complicated. We need proper legal advice before assuming we have a right to anything.

Amber

So what’s your strategy now?

Dave

First, we make sure the divorce is legally finalized. Second, we gather every document connected to the property. Third, we speak with a qualified lawyer. We don’t threaten Anthony. We don’t make promises we can’t keep. And we don’t assume that marriage automatically gives us a claim to someone else’s property.

Amber

You’ve really thought about everything.

Dave

I’m thinking about our future.

Scene 6 — Dave’s Home Office · Night

Getting the Facts

Dave sits behind his desk. Amber stands beside him. A large folder sits between them.

Amber

Do you really think we can get fifty percent?

Dave

I think we need to find out what the law actually allows.

Amber

But you told me before that once we were married, things could change.

Dave

Our circumstances changed, yes. But that doesn’t automatically change Anthony’s ownership rights. I never wanted you to make a decision based on a promise that might not be legally possible.

Amber

Then what do we do?

Dave

We get the facts. If you have a legitimate claim, we pursue it properly. If you don’t, we accept that and build our own future.

Amber looks at Dave. For the first time, she realizes that the situation may be more complicated than she originally believed.

Scene 7 — Living Room · Later That Night

Together

Amber stands near the window. City lights glow outside. Dave approaches her.

Dave

Are you okay?

Amber

I’m just thinking about everything that happened. I thought signing those papers woul
