The Divorce Papers – Cinematic Story

THE DIVORCE PAPERS

A CINEMATIC DRAMA STORY

The Ultimatum

The room is quiet. Wayne stands near the window while Lauren sits across from him, tense and uncertain.

WAYNE

“If you want to stay with me, then you have to get a divorce from Dan.”

Lauren looks at Wayne in shock. She lowers her eyes, struggling with the weight of his words.

LAUREN

“I won’t meet Dan alone. If I’m going to ask Dan for a divorce, you have to come with me.”

The Decision

Wayne watches Lauren carefully. He knows the meeting with Dan could become dangerous.

WAYNE

“Fine. I’ll come with you.”

Lauren nods. Determination slowly replaces the fear in her eyes.

LAUREN

“Then I’ll get the divorce papers prepared.”

Lauren gathers her courage. The decision has been made.

At Dan’s House

A car stops outside Dan’s house. Lauren steps out first, holding the divorce papers tightly in her hand.

Wayne follows her. Lauren looks toward the house and takes a deep breath.

WAYNE

“Lauren, if you’re not ready, we can leave.”

LAUREN

“No. I have to do this.”

Lauren walks toward the entrance and knocks on the door.

The door opens. Dan steps outside.

The Divorce Papers

DAN

“What are you doing here?”

Lauren opens the folder. Her hands tremble slightly as she removes the papers.

LAUREN

“I came here to talk to you.”

Dan notices the documents in her hands.

LAUREN

“These are divorce papers.”

Dan freezes. The atmosphere suddenly becomes heavy.

LAUREN

“Sign these divorce papers. I want a divorce from you.”

Dan’s Fury

Dan slowly takes the papers from Lauren.

He looks down at the documents. His hands tighten around them.

DAN

“You came all the way here just to give me this?”

LAUREN

“Yes.”

DAN

“You think you can just walk into my house, hand me divorce papers, and expect me to sign them?”

Lauren takes a small step backward.

LAUREN

“Dan, I don’t want to fight with you.”

The Papers Are Torn

Dan grips the divorce papers tightly.

LAUREN

“Dan, don’t—”

Dan suddenly tears the divorce papers in half.

The sound of ripping paper cuts through the silence.

He tears them again. The pieces fall from his hands onto the ground.

LAUREN

“Why did you do that?”

DAN

“Because I’m not signing them.”

Lauren stares at the torn papers in disbelief.

Wayne’s Anger

Wayne looks at the torn papers scattered across the ground.

His jaw tightens. His anger suddenly rises.

WAYNE

“You had no right to do that.”

Dan turns toward Wayne, furious.

DAN

“This is between Lauren and me.”

WAYNE

“She came here respectfully.”

Lauren quickly steps between the two men before the argument becomes physical.

LAUREN

“Enough! I don’t want another fight.”

Wayne looks at Lauren and slowly controls his anger.

Lauren looks one final time at Dan before turning away.

Wayne walks with her toward the car. Dan remains outside his house, staring at the torn divorce papers.

The night becomes silent.
