SCENE 1 — WAYNE’S HOUSE — DAY
The room is tense. Wayne’s brothers stand firmly in front of Dan. Lauren stays close to Wayne, clearly shaken but determined.
“From now on, Dan, you don’t come to Wayne’s house. Lauren is happy with Wayne. Give Lauren the divorce she deserves and leave her alone.”
Dan stares at him, completely unmoved.
“I’m not doing any of that.”
“And Wayne… don’t think this is over. I’m not going to leave you alone.”
“Dan, you need to stop. Lauren has made her choice.”
“You’ll regret standing in my way.”
Dan turns around and walks away. Lauren watches him leave, worried about what might happen next.
“Wayne, I don’t trust him.”
“He’s trying to scare us. We’ll be okay.”
SCENE 2 — WAYNE’S HOUSE — THE NEXT DAY
The next afternoon, Wayne and Lauren are home alone. The house is quiet.
Suddenly, several vehicles pull up outside. Wayne looks through the window and his expression immediately changes.
“Wayne… who is outside?”
“It’s Dan.”
“What does he want?”
“Stay inside. I’ll handle this.”
“Wayne, please don’t go out there.”
“I’m not going to let them hurt you.”
Wayne walks outside.
SCENE 3 — OUTSIDE WAYNE’S HOUSE — CONTINUOUS
Dan’s men stand near the vehicles. One of them steps forward.
“Wayne! Come outside!”
“What do you want?”
“Just come out here.”
Wayne steps farther away from the house. He realizes that he is surrounded.
“Where’s Dan?”
“You’ll see him soon.”
Suddenly, the men rush toward Wayne. A struggle breaks out. Wayne tries to defend himself, but there are too many of them.
Wayne falls to the ground as Dan’s men continue attacking him.
“Wayne!”
Before Lauren can reach the door, Dan appears inside the house. Lauren freezes.
“I told you yesterday. This wasn’t over.”
“You need to leave.”
“No. You’re coming with me.”
Lauren tries to pull away, but Dan grabs her hand and starts taking her toward the door.
“Let go of me!”
“I’m not going anywhere with you!”
Lauren looks toward the window and sees Wayne still struggling outside.
“Wayne!”
Outside, Wayne hears Lauren screaming and tries to get back up.
“Lauren!”
SCENE 4 — THE DRIVEWAY — MOMENTS LATER
Dan pulls Lauren toward the vehicles. Lauren keeps looking back at Wayne.
“Lauren! I’m coming!”
“You should have stayed out of this.”
“You’re not going to get away with this.”
“Watch me.”
“Dan, this won’t change anything. I chose Wayne.”
“We’ll see about that.”
Dan opens the vehicle door. Lauren looks back at Wayne one last time.
“I love you, Wayne!”
“I love you too!”
Dan takes Lauren toward the vehicle. The door closes, and the vehicle begins to move.
SCENE 5 — AFTERMATH — EVENING
The street becomes quiet again. Dan and his men disappear into the distance.
Wayne slowly gets back on his feet and looks toward the road where Lauren disappeared.
“I’m coming for you, Lauren.”
Wayne takes out his phone. His hands are still shaking, but his voice is steady.
“Dan thinks he can take her away from me. He’s wrong.”
Wayne looks toward the empty road. The night is quiet, but his determination is stronger than ever.
TO BE CONTINUE.
