A CINEMATIC STORY OF FEAR, COURAGE & SURVIVAL

The Chase Begins

INT. DELICIA’S HOUSE – LIVING ROOM – NIGHT The room is tense as Dan follows Lauren through the house. Lauren struggles to get away from him, desperately trying to create some distance. LAUREN Dan, stop! Leave me alone! Dan continues after her. The struggle moves toward the front door as Delicia watches nervously, unsure of what to do. Lauren finally makes it outside.

Danger At The Door

EXT. DELICIA’S HOUSE – FRONT YARD – NIGHT Dan steps toward Lauren again. Lauren backs away. DAN You’re coming with me. LAUREN No! I’m not going anywhere with you! Dan moves closer. Delicia becomes frightened and looks around for something that could help protect Lauren. Her eyes land on a can of spray. She quickly grabs it.

Delicia Steps In

Delicia steps forward, holding the spray. DELICIA Dan, stay back! Dan turns toward her. Delicia uses the spray, forcing Dan to stop and stumble backward. Lauren quickly moves away. Delicia drops the can and takes a deep breath. The yard suddenly becomes silent. Lauren looks at Dan and then reaches for her phone.

Wayne Refuses To Help

Lauren calls Wayne. LAUREN Wayne, please answer. Dan came after me. He’s forcing me to go with him, and I don’t know what to do. Wayne pauses on the phone. WAYNE Lauren, I don’t want to get involved in this. Lauren looks shocked. LAUREN Wayne, I’m asking you for help! Wayne refuses to get involved and ends the call. Lauren slowly lowers her phone. Her expression changes. The fear in her eyes begins turning into determination.

The Hockey Stick

Delicia looks nervously toward Dan. DELICIA What are we going to do now? He’s going to wake up soon. Lauren looks around the yard. She notices a hockey stick near the side of the house. Lauren walks over and picks it up. She returns to Delicia. DELICIA Lauren, why did you get that? Lauren looks at Dan. LAUREN Hold his hands. Delicia stares at her, frightened.

A Final Warning

DELICIA What are you planning to do? Lauren grips the hockey stick tightly. LAUREN Just do exactly what I told you. Delicia hesitates before moving toward Dan. Lauren raises the hockey stick. Delicia becomes even more frightened. DELICIA Lauren, please think about what you’re doing. Lauren looks at Dan. Her anger is obvious, but she stops herself. LAUREN I’m done being afraid of him. Delicia looks at Lauren. DELICIA You don’t have to become like him. Lauren slowly lowers the hockey stick.

Help Finally Arrives

Dan begins to regain consciousness. Lauren immediately steps back. LAUREN Don’t come any closer. Dan looks toward Lauren. DAN You really called the police? LAUREN Yes. This ends tonight. Lauren places the hockey stick on the ground. In the distance, sirens can be heard. Red and blue lights begin flashing across the walls of the house. Police vehicles arrive outside. Delicia stands beside Lauren. Lauren takes a deep breath. DELICIA You okay? Lauren looks toward the arriving officers. LAUREN Not yet. But I’m going to be. The camera slowly pulls away from the house as the police approach. FADE OUT.
