A Night That Changed Everything
INT. BROOKE’S HOUSE – BEDROOM – EARLY EVENING
Soft golden sunlight filters through the curtains.
Gentle music plays from a small speaker on the dresser.
Birthday decorations are scattered across the room. A few wrapped presents sit neatly on the bed.
Brooke carefully hangs fairy lights on the wall, smiling to herself as she adjusts the final ribbon.
The rest of the family has gone out to prepare for the birthday dinner, leaving the house unusually quiet.
She steps back to admire her work.
A sudden knock echoes down the hallway.
Brooke smiles.
She assumes Isaiah has returned after forgetting something.
She walks to the bedroom door and opens it.
Standing outside is ISAIAH’S UNCLE.
He offers an uneasy smile.
ISAIAH’S UNCLE
“I thought everyone had already left.”
Brooke politely nods.
BROOKE
“They’ll be back soon. Did you need something?”
Without answering, he slowly steps inside the room.
Brooke’s smile fades.
She instinctively takes a small step backward.
The atmosphere immediately feels different.
Silence replaces the music in her mind.
BROOKE
“I think you should wait downstairs.”
She gestures toward the hallway.
Instead of leaving…
He quietly moves in front of the doorway.
Blocking the only exit.
Brooke’s heartbeat quickens.
Her breathing becomes heavier.
BROOKE
“Please move.”
He doesn’t respond.
Instead…
He takes another step closer.
Brooke’s eyes quickly scan the room.
Her phone rests on the nightstand beside the bed.
She slowly reaches toward it.
The moment her fingers touch the phone—
He lunges forward, attempting to stop her from making a call.
Brooke pulls away.
Fear flashes across her face.
She gathers every bit of courage she has.
BROOKE
“HELP!”
Her scream echoes throughout the house…
