Brooke’s Heartbreak

Brooke’s Heartbreak 💔

Isaiah Chooses Mariah

SCENE 1 — ISAIAH’S HOUSE THE UNEXPECTED DISCOVERY

The sun begins to set as Brooke arrives at Isaiah’s house with her luggage. She has left her home behind, believing Isaiah will welcome her. She takes a hopeful breath and knocks on the door.

The door opens. Isaiah stands in the doorway with a cold expression. Brooke looks past him and sees Mariah standing inside. Her smile disappears.

BROOKE

Isaiah? What is she doing here?

ISAIAH

Why are you here, Brooke?

BROOKE

What do you mean, why am I here? You told me I could come to you. You said we would figure everything out together. And now I find her standing in your house?

MARIAH

Maybe you should have called before showing up.

BROOKE

I wasn’t talking to you. I’m asking Isaiah a question. Isaiah, please tell me what’s going on.

ISAIAH

There’s nothing to explain.

SCENE 2 — THE COLD TRUTH THE RELATIONSHIP ENDS

Brooke steps closer to the entrance, struggling to understand why Isaiah is treating her like a stranger.

BROOKE

Nothing to explain? I left everything behind because I trusted you. I thought you cared about me. I thought we had something real.

You promised me that I would always have a place in your life. Was everything you told me a lie?

ISAIAH

Listen carefully, Brooke. I don’t want this anymore.

BROOKE

Don’t want what anymore?

ISAIAH

Us. This relationship. All of it.

The words hit Brooke hard. She grips her suitcase to steady herself.

BROOKE

You can’t be serious.

ISAIAH

I am serious. I don’t need you anymore.

BROOKE

You don’t need me? After everything I’ve done for you? After every time I stood by your side when nobody else did?

When you were struggling, I was there. When you needed someone to believe in you, I believed in you. And now you’re telling me you don’t need me?

ISAIAH

That’s your problem, Brooke. You keep bringing up the past. Things change. People move on.

BROOKE

People move on? You could have at least respected me enough to tell me the truth.

ISAIAH

I’ve told you everything you need to know. Now get out of my house.

SCENE 3 — BROOKE BREAKS DOWN BETRAYAL AND HEARTBREAK

Brooke looks at Mariah, who stands beside Isaiah as though she belongs there. Brooke feels as if she has already been erased from his life.

BROOKE

So this is what you wanted? You wanted me out of the picture so you could be with her?

MARIAH

Maybe Isaiah finally realized who he really wants.

BROOKE

You knew about me, didn’t you? You knew what he meant to me.

MARIAH

Brooke, I don’t owe you an explanation. If Isaiah wants me here, that’s between him and me.

Brooke shakes her head as tears begin rolling down her cheeks.

BROOKE

I can’t believe either of you would do this to me. Look me in the eyes and tell me you never loved me.

Isaiah hesitates for a moment. A flicker of uncertainty crosses his face, but he quickly hardens his expression.

ISAIAH

I don’t love you anymore.

Brooke goes still. The silence feels heavier than any argument.

BROOKE

Then why didn’t you just tell me? Why did you let me believe we still had a future?

ISAIAH

Because I didn’t want to deal with this drama. Now leave.

BROOKE

You know what, Isaiah? You are a coward. You let me trust you, and now you want to throw me away like I meant nothing.

ISAIAH

Get out, Brooke. Now.

SCENE 4 — THE SLAP HEARTBREAK TURNS TO ANGER

Isaiah reaches for the door, preparing to shut it in her face. Something inside Brooke finally snaps. She steps forward and slaps him across the face.

The sharp sound echoes through the doorway. Mariah gasps. Isaiah turns back toward Brooke, furious. Brooke is shocked by her own action, but she does not take back her words.

BROOKE

That was for every lie you told me. And for making me believe that your promises meant something.

ISAIAH

Are you out of your mind?

BROOKE

No! I’m heartbroken! You have no idea how much I loved you. You have no idea what this is doing to me!

ISAIAH

I don’t care! You need to get away from me!

Mariah moves closer to Isaiah and places a hand on his arm.

MARIAH

Isaiah, don’t let her keep doing this. She needs to leave.

BROOKE

You can have him. But remember this day. Remember how you treated someone who genuinely loved you.

ISAIAH

Get out, Brooke. Now.

SCENE 5 — THROWN OUT THE FINAL HUMILIATION

Isaiah grabs Brooke by the arm and forces her toward the outside of the house. She struggles to keep her balance.

BROOKE

Isaiah, stop! Let go of me!

Mariah watches from inside. Isaiah shoves Brooke out through the doorway and kicks her away from the entrance. Brooke stumbles and falls onto the porch, catching herself with her hands.

BROOKE

Oh my God!

Brooke struggles to sit up. Isaiah brings her suitcase to the entrance and throws it outside. It lands heavily on the pavement, and some of her belongings spill out.

BROOKE

My things! Isaiah, those are my things!

ISAIAH

Take your stuff and don’t come back.

BROOKE

You can’t do this to me!

ISAIAH

I just did. Stay away from me and stay away from this house.

Isaiah steps back inside. Mariah stands beside him, watching Brooke with a satisfied expression.

BROOKE

Isaiah, please! Please don’t leave me like this.

For a brief moment, Isaiah looks down at her. Brooke searches his face for compassion, but finds none. He slams the door. The sound echoes across the porch.

SCENE 6 — WALKING AWAY THE FINAL GOODBYE

Brooke sits on the pavement beside her scattered belongings. Her suitcase lies on its side, and clothes are spread across the ground. She slowly pulls herself upright and begins gathering her things.

Behind the closed door, Isaiah and Mariah remain inside. Brooke looks toward the house through her tears.

BROOKE

How could you do this to me, Isaiah?

I gave you my heart. I trusted you with everything. And you couldn’t even give me the truth.

She lowers her head and cries. Then she notices her phone beside the suitcase. She picks it up, unsure of whom she can call. She has nowhere to go, and the person she thought would stand beside her has just thrown her out.

BROOKE

I loved you so much. But I never deserved this.

She closes the suitcase as best she can and struggles to her feet. For one final moment, she looks toward Isaiah’s house. Then she turns away and begins walking down the street, pulling her luggage behind her.

Inside, Mariah looks at Isaiah.

MARIAH

Do you think she’ll come back?

ISAIAH

I don’t care. I made my decision.

Mariah smiles faintly and moves closer to him. But as Isaiah turns away, his expression briefly changes. His anger gives way to a flicker of uncertainty.

Outside, Brooke disappears around the corner. The door remains closed. The promises, the memories, and the love she once believed in are now behind her.
