Bethany vs. Brooke — The Door Was Open, But the Real Battle Had Just Begun
1. The Warning
Bethany was sitting on the couch, watching Brooke closely. She already knew Brooke was thinking about slipping out.
Brooke slowly walked toward the front door.
Bethany: “Brooke! Don’t even think about stepping outside. I know exactly what you’re trying to do.”
Brooke stopped, turned around, and calmly replied, “Sneak out? The door is right there.”
2. Brooke Turns the Tables
Bethany warned Brooke to come back inside, but Brooke deliberately opened the door and stepped outside just to see Bethany’s reaction.
Brooke smiled and said, “I was just checking how quickly you’d panic.”
Bethany became furious, but Brooke refused to back down.
“I’m just giving you a taste of what it feels like when someone else controls every move you make.”
3. The Argument Explodes
Bethany ordered Brooke to go to her room because she said so. Brooke challenged the constant control.
Brooke: “That’s always your answer. ‘Because I said so.’”
Bethany snapped, “This is my house!”
Brooke immediately replied, “And I live here too. Or does that only matter when you want to control me?”
The argument became more intense until Bethany finally stormed out.
4. Larry Hears Everything
Larry had heard the argument from downstairs. He told Bethany that the real problem was that both she and Brooke were trying to win.
Larry then placed an envelope on the table.
Bethany asked, “What is that?”
Larry answered, “Something I’m not ready to explain yet.”
He then added, “The real surprise is only a few steps away.”
5. The Knock at the Door
Brooke overheard everything from the staircase.
Suddenly, there was a knock at the front door.
Knock. Knock. Knock.
Larry looked serious and said, “That’s the surprise.”
Bethany opened the door. The moment she saw who was standing outside, her eyes widened.
Bethany: “You?”
Brooke watched from the stairs as the unexpected visitor stood at the door.
The problem was no longer just between Bethany and Brooke. The real secret had finally arrived.
