Shayla approaches Anthony because she needs advice about an important contract. However, their conversation takes an unexpected turn when D’Nisha walks in and sees them together.

Scene 1 – Shayla Needs Advice

The afternoon is calm inside the office. Anthony stands near a large window, looking over several papers on his desk. The atmosphere is quiet, but there is a serious expression on his face.
The door slowly opens. Shayla walks inside while holding a folder close to her chest. She looks nervous, as though she has been thinking about something for a long time.
Anthony: “Shayla? What’s going on?”
Shayla takes a deep breath and walks closer to Anthony.
Shayla: “Anthony, I need your advice. I’ve been thinking about this contract, and I honestly don’t know what to do.”
Anthony: “What kind of contract?”
Shayla opens the folder and shows Anthony the document. He takes a moment to look over the papers.
Shayla: “They want me to sign it, but I’m not completely sure if it’s the right decision. I wanted to ask someone who understands the situation.”
Shayla: “Do you think I should sign the contract or not?”
Anthony is about to answer when suddenly the door opens again.

Scene 2 – D’Nisha Walks In

D’Nisha walks into the room. She immediately notices Shayla standing beside Anthony.
Her expression changes. The atmosphere becomes uncomfortable almost instantly.
D’Nisha: “Wait… you came to my man for advice?”
Shayla looks surprised by D’Nisha’s reaction.
Shayla: “Anthony has been my man before, so I thought it would be okay to ask him for advice.”
D’Nisha’s expression immediately becomes serious. Her eyes move from Shayla to Anthony.
D’Nisha: “Your man before?”
Shayla: “That’s not what I meant. I’m only here because I need advice about the contract.”
D’Nisha: “You could have asked somebody else.”
Shayla: “I came to Anthony because he knows the situation. I wasn’t trying to disrespect you.”
D’Nisha moves closer, clearly upset.
D’Nisha: “Then why does it feel like you’re using this contract as an excuse to come back into Anthony’s life?”
Shayla: “I don’t want Anthony back. I simply asked him a question.”

Scene 3 – The Tension Explodes

D’Nisha becomes even more upset. The tension in the room rises as she moves toward Shayla.
For a moment, it looks like D’Nisha might lose her temper. Anthony immediately steps between them and raises his hands to stop the confrontation.
Anthony: “D’Nisha, stop!”
D’Nisha: “Move, Anthony. She knows exactly what she’s doing.”
Anthony: “There’s no reason to put your hands on Shayla.”
Anthony remains between the two women, trying to keep the situation under control.
D’Nisha: “You didn’t hear what she just said. She called you her man.”
Anthony turns toward Shayla.
Anthony: “And Shayla, you need to understand that things have changed between us.”
Shayla lowers her eyes for a moment. She understands that Anthony is making his position clear.
Shayla: “I understand. I wasn’t trying to cross a line.”
Anthony: “Then let’s keep this conversation about the contract.”

Scene 4 – Anthony Sets Boundaries

Anthony picks up the contract from the desk and looks at Shayla calmly.
Anthony: “If you need advice about the contract, we can talk about it. I’ll tell you what I think, but the final decision has to be yours.”
Shayla: “That’s all I wanted.”
Anthony then turns toward D’Nisha. His expression becomes serious.
Anthony: “And D’Nisha, I understand why you’re upset.”
D’Nisha: “Do you?”
Anthony: “Yes. But being angry doesn’t give anyone the right to hurt somebody.”
Anthony makes it clear that the situation needs to be handled through communication rather than fighting.
Anthony: “If we’re going to handle this situation, we need to talk instead of fighting.”
D’Nisha remains silent while Shayla watches the conversation carefully.

Scene 5 – Shayla Explains Herself

Shayla takes another step toward the desk while keeping a respectful distance from D’Nisha.
Shayla: “D’Nisha, I know you don’t trust me. Maybe you have every reason to be suspicious because of our history.”
Shayla: “But I’m not here to take Anthony away from you.”
Shayla: “I came here because Anthony has known me for a long time, and I believed he could give me honest advice.”
Anthony: “That’s exactly what happened.”
D’Nisha looks at Anthony carefully.
D’Nisha: “So you’re saying there’s nothing else going on?”
Anthony: “No. There isn’t.”
The room becomes quiet.
D’Nisha takes a deep breath and tries to control her emotions.

Scene 6 – D’Nisha Gives Her Warning

D’Nisha turns toward Shayla. Her anger has not completely disappeared, but she is calmer now.
D’Nisha: “Fine. If you’re really here for business, then keep it about business.”
Shayla: “I can do that.”
D’Nisha: “And you need to make sure the boundaries are clear.”
Anthony: “I agree.”
Shayla opens the folder again.
Shayla: “Can we please just look at the contract now?”
Anthony: “Sure. Let’s go through it carefully before you sign anything.”
Shayla sits down. D’Nisha remains nearby, watching the conversation closely.

Scene 7 – An Uncomfortable Silence

Anthony begins explaining the important parts of the contract. Shayla listens carefully and asks a few questions.
D’Nisha doesn’t interrupt, but her expression shows that she is still uncomfortable with the situation.
Shayla: “Thank you, Anthony. I really appreciate the advice.”
Anthony: “No problem. Just make sure you understand everything before you sign.”
Shayla stands up and looks toward D’Nisha.
Shayla: “And D’Nisha… I’m sorry if my words upset you. I should have explained myself better.”
D’Nisha: “Just don’t give me a reason to question your intentions.”
Shayla: “Fair enough.”
Shayla turns toward the door.
Shayla: “Thanks again.”
Anthony: “You’re welcome.”
Shayla walks out. The door closes behind her.

Scene 8 – Anthony and D’Nisha

D’Nisha remains quiet for several seconds. Anthony turns toward her.
Anthony: “You okay?”
D’Nisha: “I didn’t like seeing her here, Anthony.”
Anthony: “I understand.”
D’Nisha: “And when she said you used to be her man, it made me angry.”
Anthony: “But you have to trust me.”
D’Nisha looks at Anthony seriously.
D’Nisha: “I want to trust you. I just don’t want anyone coming between us.”
Anthony: “Then we handle these situations together. No yelling. No fighting. Just communication.”
D’Nisha slowly nods. The tension begins to fade.
