Larry Tells Brooke to Leave the House After She Returns
A Cinematic Family Drama
SCENE 1 — BROOKE RETURNS HOME
The afternoon is quiet as Brooke slowly approaches the front door. She carries her belongings and looks emotionally exhausted. After everything that has happened, she has spent some time away from the house trying to clear her mind and understand what she truly wants.
Brooke stops for a moment before entering. She takes a deep breath, hoping that returning home might finally give her a chance to talk things through. She knows there have been arguments, misunderstandings, and painful moments, but deep inside, she still believes that her home is where she belongs.
She opens the door and steps inside.
But almost immediately, Brooke notices Larry standing near the entrance.
His expression is cold and serious. He looks at Brooke as though he has been waiting for her to return.
Brooke slowly puts her bag down.
BROOKE
“Larry… I’m home.”
Larry doesn’t answer immediately. He simply stares at her.
Brooke becomes nervous.
BROOKE
“Why are you looking at me like that?”
Larry takes a step toward her.
LARRY
“Why did you come back?”
Brooke looks confused.
BROOKE
“Because this is my home too.”
Larry shakes his head.
LARRY
“Not anymore.”
Brooke’s expression immediately changes. She looks at Larry, trying to understand what he means.
SCENE 2 — THE CONFRONTATION
The tension in the room becomes heavier. Brooke knows Larry is angry, but she still hopes he will calm down enough to listen to her.
LARRY
“Why did you leave the house, Brooke?”
Brooke lowers her eyes.
BROOKE
“Because everything became too much for me. I needed some time to think.”
Larry’s voice becomes louder.
LARRY
“And now you’re just coming back like nothing happened?”
BROOKE
“That’s not what I’m doing.”
LARRY
“Then what are you doing?”
Brooke looks directly at him.
BROOKE
“I’m trying to come home.”
Larry lets out a bitter laugh.
LARRY
“You don’t get to leave whenever things become difficult and then decide that this place is still waiting for you.”
Brooke’s eyes begin to fill with tears.
BROOKE
“Larry, please. I don’t want to fight with you.”
LARRY
“I’m not the one who started this fight.”
Brooke wipes away a tear.
BROOKE
“I never wanted things to become like this.”
SCENE 3 — BROOKE HEARS THE WORDS THAT BREAK HER
Larry takes another step toward Brooke. His anger is obvious now, and Brooke realizes that he is not ready to forgive her.
LARRY
“You had your chance.”
Brooke looks at him with confusion.
BROOKE
“My chance for what?”
LARRY
“To stay here.”
Brooke’s heart sinks.
BROOKE
“I thought you would at least listen to me.”
LARRY
“I’ve listened enough.”
Larry points toward the front door.
LARRY: “You have no business being in this house anymore. Now get out of here.”
Brooke becomes completely still.
For a few seconds, she cannot say anything.
She looks toward the door, then back at Larry.
BROOKE
“Are you seriously telling me to leave?”
LARRY
“Yes.”
The single word leaves Brooke devastated.
SCENE 4 — BROOKE’S HEARTBREAK
Brooke looks around the house. The familiar walls suddenly feel unfamiliar. Every corner reminds her of memories she once treasured.
BROOKE
“Larry… this place has been my home.”
LARRY
“Not anymore.”
Brooke’s voice trembles.
BROOKE
“How can you say that so easily?”
Larry looks away.
LARRY
“Because you made your choice.”
Brooke shakes her head.
BROOKE
“I came back because I thought there was still something worth saving.”
Larry remains silent.
BROOKE
“I thought maybe we could talk.”
LARRY
“There’s nothing left to talk about.”
Brooke wipes her tears.
BROOKE
“You don’t even want to hear my side.”
LARRY
“I already know enough.”
Brooke slowly picks up her bag.
SCENE 5 — BROOKE MAKES A DECISION
Brooke walks toward the door, but before leaving, she stops. She turns around and looks at Larry one final time.
BROOKE
“Before I leave, I need you to understand something.”
Larry says nothing.
BROOKE
“I didn’t walk away because I stopped caring about this family.”
Larry’s expression changes slightly.
BROOKE
“I walked away because I was hurt. I was confused. I didn’t know what else to do.”
She takes a deep breath.
BROOKE
“But I came back because I still cared.”
Larry looks away.
BROOKE
“Maybe I made mistakes. Maybe I handled things badly. But I never wanted to destroy everything.”
Larry finally responds.
LARRY
“Then you should have stayed and faced the consequences.”
Brooke nods slowly.
BROOKE
“Maybe you’re right about some things. But kicking me out won’t fix everything.”
SCENE 6 — BROOKE WALKS AWAY
Brooke stands near the doorway with her bag in her hand. She is heartbroken, but she refuses to beg Larry to let her stay.
BROOKE
“I’m not going to beg you to let me stay.”
Larry watches her silently.
BROOKE
“But I want you to know that I never wanted us to become enemies.”
For a brief moment, Larry’s expression softens.
Brooke reaches for the door handle.
BROOKE
“One day, you may understand why I left.”
She opens the door.
Brooke steps outside and looks back one last time.
The house that once felt safe now feels like a place where she is no longer welcome.
BROOKE
“Goodbye, Larry.”
Larry says nothing.
Brooke slowly walks away.
SCENE 7 — LARRY BEGINS TO REGRET HIS DECISION
The door closes behind Brooke.
Larry remains standing in the entryway, staring at the closed door.
His anger begins to fade, replaced by uncertainty.
He looks at the empty space where Brooke had been standing only moments earlier.
LARRY
“Maybe I went too far.”
Larry takes a step toward the door.
He stops.
His pride prevents him from opening it.
Outside, Brooke continues walking. She wipes away her tears and keeps moving forward.
She doesn’t know where she will go next. She doesn’t know what tomorrow will bring. But she knows she cannot continue standing in a place where she is no longer wanted.
SCENE 8 — A NEW BEGINNING
Brooke stops for a moment and looks toward the sky.
BROOKE
“I don’t know what I’m supposed to do now… but I can’t give up.”
She takes a deep breath.
Then she continues walking.
Inside the house, Larry remains alone with his thoughts.
The argument is over, but the consequences have only begun.
Brooke may have lost her place in the house, but she has not lost her strength. This painful moment could become the beginning of a completely new chapter in her life.
Meanwhile, Larry is left wondering whether his anger caused him to make a decision he may eventually regret.
Sometimes, pushing someone away can create a loss that cannot easily be repaired.
FADE OUT.
