Wayne, Dan, and Lauren’s Biggest Secret

1. Wayne Makes His Move

It was late at night, and the atmosphere was tense. Wayne had finally learned that Dan had given Lauren money and had continued putting pressure on her. Wayne had reached his limit. He was determined to protect Lauren and make sure Dan stayed out of her life.

Wayne confronted Dan with a large check in his hand. Dan looked at him in confusion. Wayne held out the check and said, “This is a $100,000 check. I am paying you back every dollar you gave Lauren.”

Dan stared at the check. Wayne continued in a firm voice, “From today forward, you will never bother Lauren again. You will not call her, message her, or interfere in her life. And don’t ever try calling me again.”

2. Wayne Gives Dan a Final Warning

Wayne’s voice became even more serious. He looked directly at Dan and said, “Lauren is about to become my wife. I’m going to marry her. You got your money back, so there is nothing left between you and Lauren.”

Dan took the check, but instead of leaving immediately, he gave Wayne a strange look. Then he said, “Wayne, don’t trust Lauren too much. You don’t know what she’s really capable of.”

Wayne frowned. “What are you trying to say?”

Dan replied, “Lauren betrayed me too. She’s with you today, but tomorrow she could betray you just like she did me. Don’t trust her blindly.”

For a moment, Wayne went silent. Dan’s words planted a small seed of doubt in his mind. However, Wayne refused to let Dan change his decision.

3. Dan Is Ordered to Stay Away From Lauren

Wayne pointed toward the exit and said, “That’s enough. Get out of here. Whatever happened between you and Lauren, I’ll deal with it myself. But if you call Lauren, message her, or bother her again after today, I’ll take you straight to the police.”

Dan tried to say something, but Wayne refused to listen. Dan finally walked away. However, the look in his eyes suggested that he still had a secret—something Wayne didn’t know about.

Wayne watched Dan leave before turning toward Lauren. His mind was now filled with conflicting emotions. On one side was his love for Lauren. On the other was Dan’s warning.

4. Lauren Begs Wayne for Forgiveness

Lauren walked toward Wayne with tears in her eyes. She grabbed his hand and said, “Please forgive me. I know I hid some things from you, but I never wanted to betray you.”

Wayne remained silent as Lauren continued, “I was scared. I was afraid that if I told you everything about Dan, you would leave me. That’s why I kept some things from you.”

Lauren’s voice trembled as she added, “I didn’t want to lose you. I love you, and I was terrified that the truth would destroy our relationship. Please give me another chance.”

Wayne’s anger began to fade, but Dan’s warning kept replaying in his mind.

Wayne looked at Lauren and said, “If there’s anything else you’ve been hiding from me, tell me now. I don’t want to start our marriage with lies.”

5. Was Dan Telling the Truth?

Lauren looked into Wayne’s eyes. She was about to answer when suddenly her phone rang. Lauren looked at the screen, and her entire expression changed.

Wayne immediately asked, “Who is calling you?”

Lauren tightened her grip around the phone and remained silent.

Wayne asked again, “Lauren, tell me. Who is it?”

Tears filled Lauren’s eyes again. She quietly said, “Wayne… I was going to tell you everything.”

Wayne looked toward the phone. A message from an unknown number had just appeared on the screen. It said:

“Don’t tell Wayne yet what Dan has as proof…”

Wayne saw the message. He slowly looked at Lauren and asked, “Proof? Lauren… what else have you been hiding from me?”

Lauren couldn’t answer. At that moment, Wayne realized that perhaps Dan’s warning wasn’t simply an attempt to destroy Lauren’s reputation. Maybe Dan really had evidence—evidence that could destroy Wayne and Lauren’s relationship before they ever made it to the altar.
