Wayne wants a signature. Shayla wants out. Amber just wants to keep what she built — and now she’s the only one left standing between the podcast and the paperwork.

Wayne puts money in front of Shayla and gives her one shocking choice — take the money and sign the contract, or walk away. Shayla knows Amber trusted her not to sign. But when Shayla takes the money and signs the papers, she unknowingly puts Amber’s entire plan in danger. Now Amber has to face a terrifying decision: will she protect the podcast she built herself, or sign Wayne’s contract and risk losing everything?
SCENE 1 Wayne’s Podcast Office Afternoon

The office is quiet. Papers are spread across Wayne’s desk. Shayla stands across from him, looking uncertain. Wayne holds a contract in one hand and an envelope of money in the other — and places both on the desk.

Wayne
You already know what I want.
Shayla looks at the contract. She hesitates.
Shayla
Wayne, I told Amber I wasn’t going to sign these papers.
Wayne
That was before I made you an offer.
He pushes the envelope toward her. Her expression changes.
Wayne
Take the money, sign the contract, and we don’t have a problem.
Shayla slowly picks up the envelope. For a moment she seems conflicted — then she reaches for the pen.
Shayla
Fine.
She signs. Wayne checks the signature. A small smile appears.
Wayne
Good decision.
Shayla puts the money away and walks toward the door, trying not to show how nervous she feels. Wayne watches her leave.
SCENE 2 Amber’s Podcast Office Later

Amber is working at her desk, laptop open, documents scattered around her — focused on her own podcast when her phone suddenly rings. She answers. Her expression quickly changes. She listens silently, then slowly lowers the phone.

Amber
Shayla signed it?
Amber stands up. She looks stunned.
Amber
No. She promised me she wouldn’t.
Amber grabs her purse and heads for the door.
SCENE 3 Wayne’s Podcast Office Evening

Shayla enters and notices Amber standing there, cold and angry. Shayla immediately realizes something is wrong.

Amber…
Amber
You told me you wouldn’t sign the contract papers.
Shayla looks away.
Amber
So why did you sign them?
Shayla remains silent. Amber waits.
Amber
I trusted you.
Shayla
Wayne offered me money.
Amber
Money?
Shayla
He said I could take it if I signed the contract.
Amber
So you took the money and signed?
Shayla
I didn’t know what else to do.
Amber
You could have told me!
Shayla
I was scared.
Amber takes a deep breath, trying to control her emotions.

Do you understand what you just did? You didn’t just sign a piece of paper. You changed everything.

Amber returns alone and closes the door. The room is silent. She sits and stares at the contract — cameras, microphones, production notes, everything she has built, right in front of her.

If I sign this, what happens to everything I built here?
She looks around the room, her expression becoming emotional. She puts the papers down. Her phone rings — it’s Wayne. She hesitates before answering.
Amber
What do you want?
Wayne
I heard you found out about Shayla.
Amber
Yes, I did.
Wayne
Then you know she made her choice.
Amber
She made her choice because you paid her.
Wayne
I gave her an opportunity.
Amber
And now you expect me to sign too?
Wayne
I expect you to understand the situation.
Amber
I understand perfectly.
Wayne
Then sign the papers. You can’t keep standing in the middle forever.
The call ends. Amber slowly puts the phone down.
