Brooke’s Desperate Plea to Stop Isaiah From Leaving for Philly

Brooke’s Desperate Plea to Stop Isaiah From Leaving for Philly

Scene 1 — Isaiah’s House — Late Afternoon

The afternoon feels unusually quiet. Brooke walks quickly toward Isaiah’s house, her face filled with worry. She has been trying to reach him, but she knows Isaiah is preparing to leave for Philly with his father. She stops at the front door, takes a deep breath, and knocks. A few seconds later, Isaiah opens the door, looking surprised to see her.

Isaiah
Why are you here, Brooke?

Brooke looks at him with tears in her eyes.

Brooke
Isaiah, please… I need to talk to you.

Isaiah steps outside and closes the door behind him.

Isaiah
I already told you. I’m leaving.
Brooke
Please don’t go to Philly. I’m serious, Isaiah. Please don’t leave me. I don’t know what I’m going to do without you.

Brooke moves closer, desperately trying to make him understand.

Brooke
We’ve been through so much together. You can’t just walk away like none of it ever mattered.
Isaiah
Brooke, you need to accept that I’m leaving.
Brooke
Then take me with you.
Isaiah
No.
Brooke
Why?
Isaiah
Because there’s nothing left between us.

Scene 2 — The Truth Comes Out

A painful silence fills the space between them. Brooke hopes Isaiah will change his mind. Instead, he says something that completely crushes her.

Isaiah
I never loved you the way you thought I did.
Brooke
What did you just say?
Isaiah
You heard me.
Brooke
No… You don’t mean that.
Isaiah
I do. I was only spending time with you.

Brooke’s expression changes immediately. She looks at Isaiah as if seeing him differently for the first time.

Brooke
So everything was a lie? All those conversations? All those promises? Everything you told me?
Isaiah
Brooke, it’s over.
Brooke
How could you do this to me?
Isaiah
I’m not arguing about this anymore.
Brooke
You’re really going to leave after saying all of that?

Scene 3 — Isaiah Prepares to Leave

Isaiah walks toward the car. Brooke follows him.

Brooke
Isaiah, please! Just give me one reason to believe that you ever cared about me.

Isaiah pauses. For a moment, Brooke hopes he will turn around. But he doesn’t. He gets into the car beside his father. Brooke stands in the driveway, devastated. The engine starts. Her anger and heartbreak suddenly boil over. She rushes toward the front of the vehicle.

Isaiah’s Father
Brooke! Move away from the car!

The car stops immediately. Isaiah looks through the windshield, shocked.

Isaiah
Brooke, what are you doing?
Brooke
You can’t just leave me like this!

Isaiah’s father quickly puts the car in park, gets out, and approaches Brooke carefully.

Isaiah’s Father
Brooke, please step away from the vehicle.
Brooke
He said he never loved me! He said I was just someone he was passing time with!

Isaiah lowers his eyes. His father looks at him with disappointment.

Isaiah’s Father
Isaiah, you need to handle this situation better.

Scene 4 — Brooke Breaks Down

Brooke finally steps away from the car. She wipes her face, but more tears fall.

Brooke
I gave you everything. I defended you. I trusted you. I believed every word you said. And now you’re leaving like I never mattered?

Isaiah doesn’t know what to say. For the first time, his confidence disappears.

Isaiah
Brooke…
Brooke
No! Don’t say my name like you still care.
Isaiah’s Father
Brooke, you need to go home and calm down.
Brooke
I just wanted him to stay.
Isaiah’s Father
I understand. But you cannot force someone to stay. You have to protect yourself and give yourself time to process what happened.

Brooke looks down. She knows he is right, but the pain is still overwhelming.

Scene 5 — Isaiah’s Decision

Isaiah slowly gets out of the car. He looks at Brooke.

Isaiah
I’m sorry.
Brooke
Sorry doesn’t fix this.
Isaiah
I know.

There is a long silence.

Brooke
Are you really leaving?
Isaiah
Yes.
Brooke
Then go. Go to Philly. But don’t ever come back expecting me to be the same person who was waiting for you.

Isaiah has no response. He slowly gets back into the car. His father starts the engine. The vehicle begins moving away. Brooke watches from the driveway. This time, she stays safely away from the road.

Scene 6 — A Painful Realization

Brooke sits down on the front steps. She looks at the empty driveway. Her phone is still in her hand. She considers calling Isaiah. Then she stops. Instead, she locks the phone and takes a deep breath.

Brooke
I can’t make him love me. But I can choose what happens next.

Brooke slowly stands and walks back toward the house. The car carrying Isaiah disappears down the street. Inside the vehicle, Isaiah looks through the window. His father notices his silence.

Isaiah’s Father
You know she really cared about you. Sometimes people don’t realize what they had until it’s gone.

Isaiah looks down. For the first time, doubt appears on his face. But the car continues toward Philly. Back at the house, Brooke closes the door behind her. She leans against it and takes a deep breath. Her heart is broken, but she knows she has to move forward.
