Dan Begs Wayne to Leave Lauren Alone

“I am not here to fight you. I am asking you as a man to respect what I am saying. Please stay away from Lauren. Give us a chance to work things out.”
Wayne finally responds, his expression calm.
“You really think getting down on your knees is going to change everything?”
“I do not know what else to do. I know I have made mistakes, but I do not want Lauren’s life to become even more complicated. I want her to have peace, and I want us to have a chance to fix what has been broken.”
Wayne smiles again, watching Dan carefully. Dan continues to make his feelings clear, refusing to let his pride stop him from asking for another chance.
“You should have thought about all of this before things got this far.”
Dan lowers his head. He knows Wayne has a point, but he refuses to give up.
“I know. I should have handled things differently. But I am asking you now. Please leave her alone.”
Dan’s pride no longer matters to him. He is willing to humble himself because he believes Lauren is worth fighting for.
Wayne slowly walks closer to Dan.
“You say you love her. Then maybe you need to prove that to her instead of trying to prove something to me.”
“I will. I promise I will.”

“This is not about me deciding what happens between you and Lauren. That decision belongs to Lauren.”

“I understand. I just hope you will respect my request and give us some space.”
“I heard you.”
