🏠 SCENE 1 — AMBER’S LIVING ROOM
The house is quiet.
Amber sits on the couch, visibly frustrated. D’Nisha stands nearby, listening carefully.
AMBER
D’Nisha, I need you to do something for me.
D’NISHA
What do you need me to do?
Amber takes a deep breath.
AMBER
I need you to talk to Anthony about the divorce.
D’NISHA
You want me to talk to Anthony about divorcing you?
AMBER
Yes. You and Anthony are together now. He listens to you. If anybody can convince him to make a decision, it’s you.
D’NISHA
Amber, this is between you and Anthony.
AMBER
I know. But I also know he keeps saying different things to different people. I just want the truth.
D’NISHA
What exactly do you want me to ask him?
AMBER
Ask him if he really loves you. And if he does, tell him to give me a divorce.
D’Nisha remains silent for a moment before slowly nodding.
D’NISHA
Okay. I’ll talk to him.
🚪 SCENE 2 — D’NISHA GOES HOME
D’Nisha arrives home. She walks inside slowly, thinking about Amber’s request.
Anthony notices her serious expression.
ANTHONY
What’s wrong?
D’NISHA
Anthony, we need to talk.
ANTHONY
About what?
D’NISHA
About Amber.
ANTHONY
What about Amber?
D’NISHA
She asked me to talk to you about the divorce.
Anthony looks surprised.
ANTHONY
She asked you to do that?
D’NISHA
Yes. She wants to know what you really want.
❤️ SCENE 3 — D’NISHA QUESTIONS ANTHONY
D’Nisha takes another step toward Anthony.
D’NISHA
Anthony, if you truly love me, then why are you still holding onto your marriage with Amber?
ANTHONY
D’Nisha, it’s complicated.
D’NISHA
No. It doesn’t have to be complicated. If you love me, then make a decision.
Anthony looks down.
D’NISHA
Then tell me what you’re going to do.
ANTHONY
I’ll divorce Amber.
D’Nisha looks relieved.
D’NISHA
You’re really going to divorce her?
ANTHONY
Yes. I’ll give Amber the divorce.
D’NISHA
Then tell her.
ANTHONY
I will.
📱 SCENE 4 — D’NISHA CALLS AMBER
D’Nisha steps away and calls Amber.
AMBER
What did he say?
D’NISHA
Anthony agreed to the divorce.
AMBER
He agreed?
D’NISHA
Yes. I heard him say it myself.
AMBER
Then I’ll bring the divorce papers.
D’NISHA
Okay.
📄 SCENE 5 — AMBER PREPARES THE PAPERS
Later that day, Amber sits at a table with the divorce documents in front of her.
She looks at the papers for several seconds.
There is no excitement on her face. Only determination.
AMBER
If this is what Anthony wants, then we’re going to settle everything today.
Amber gathers the documents and walks out.
⚡ SCENE 6 — ANTHONY’S HOUSE
Anthony is inside the living room. D’Nisha is nearby.
A knock comes at the door.
Amber walks inside holding the divorce papers.
AMBER
Here are the divorce papers.
ANTHONY
Okay.
AMBER
You said you wanted a divorce. Then let’s finish this.
Amber places the papers on the table.
AMBER
But before you sign, I want my share.
ANTHONY
Your share?
AMBER
Yes. We were married. I’m not walking away with nothing.
AMBER
Give me what belongs to me. Then sign the papers.
😱 SCENE 7 — ANTHONY CHANGES HIS MIND
Anthony slowly picks up the divorce papers.
D’Nisha watches him closely. Amber waits.
Anthony looks at the signature line.
Then he puts the papers back down.
AMBER
What are you doing?
ANTHONY
I’m not signing them.
Amber freezes.
AMBER
What?
ANTHONY
I said I’m not giving you a divorce.
D’Nisha’s eyes widen in shock.
D’NISHA
Anthony…
💔 SCENE 8 — D’NISHA’S SHOCK
D’NISHA
Anthony, you looked me in the eyes and told me you were going to divorce Amber.
ANTHONY
I know what I said.
D’NISHA
Then why are you saying this now?
ANTHONY
I changed my mind.
D’NISHA
You promised me.
ANTHONY
D’Nisha, listen—
D’NISHA
No. You told me that if Amber brought the papers, you would sign them.
D’Nisha looks deeply disappointed.
🔥 SCENE 9 — AMBER EXPLODES
Amber suddenly slams the papers onto the table.
AMBER
ENOUGH!
ANTHONY
Amber, calm down.
AMBER
Don’t tell me to calm down!
Amber steps closer to Anthony.
AMBER
You told me you wanted a divorce. Then you told D’Nisha you were going to divorce me. Now you’re refusing to sign!
ANTHONY
I said I changed my mind.
AMBER
Then you lied to me!
Anthony tries to respond, but Amber continues.
AMBER
You need to stop doing this!
⚖️ SCENE 10 — THE ARGUMENT GETS WORSE
AMBER
You want to keep this marriage? Fine. But then give me what belongs to me.
ANTHONY
That’s not how this works.
AMBER
Then tell me how it works!
Anthony remains silent.
AMBER
You want me to stay married to you, but you don’t want to give me my share?
ANTHONY
I’m not discussing this while everyone is angry.
AMBER
You should have thought about that before you made all these promises!
D’NISHA
Anthony, you need to explain yourself.
😤 SCENE 11 — ANTHONY IS CORNERED
Amber stands on one side. D’Nisha stands on the other.
AMBER
Sign the papers.
D’NISHA
Tell me the truth.
Anthony looks between them.
ANTHONY
I need time.
AMBER
You’ve had enough time.
D’NISHA
Anthony, this is exactly why I asked you to make a decision.
D’NISHA
You told me you loved me.
ANTHONY
I do.
D’NISHA
Then why does it feel like you’re choosing everything except me?
Anthony has no answer.
💥 SCENE 12 — THE FINAL CONFRONTATION
Amber picks up the divorce papers again and walks directly toward Anthony.
AMBER
I came here ready to end this marriage.
She places the papers in front of Anthony.
AMBER
You said you wanted this.
AMBER
If you don’t want the divorce, then say it clearly.
ANTHONY
I don’t want to sign them.
D’Nisha stares at Anthony in disbelief.
D’NISHA
And now I need to know why.
Anthony looks at D’Nisha.
The room becomes completely silent.
The divorce papers remain on the table.
Anthony looks at D’Nisha.
Then he looks at Amber.
Neither woman moves.
The tension in the room reaches its breaking point.
Anthony opens his mouth to speak…
But before he can say anything, Amber interrupts.
AMBER
No. You’re going to explain everything.
Anthony stands silently between them.
D’Nisha waits for his answer.
Amber waits for hers.
