Something Has Changed

For several weeks, Bethany had been noticing something unusual about Larry. He was still around the house, still speaking to her, and still trying to act as if everything was normal, but something between them had clearly changed. Larry avoided getting close to Bethany and seemed uncomfortable whenever she tried to have a serious conversation about their marriage.

At first, Bethany tried to give him space. She thought perhaps he was stressed, tired, or dealing with something personal. But as the days passed, his distance only became more obvious. He avoided intimate moments and quickly changed the subject whenever Bethany asked why.

Eventually, Bethany could not keep her concerns to herself anymore. She decided that Larry needed to be honest with her.

Bethany Demands Answers

One evening, Bethany confronted Larry directly. She wanted to know why he kept avoiding her and whether something was wrong medically.

Larry immediately became uncomfortable. Instead of answering, he lowered his eyes and tried to end the conversation.

But that answer only made Bethany more suspicious. She felt that Larry was hiding something important from her. She was not willing to let the issue continue without an explanation.

The next day, Bethany insisted that Larry go with her to a medical laboratory. Larry was embarrassed and reluctant, but after a long conversation, he finally agreed to get checked.

They completed the necessary medical tests and were told that the results would be available later. The waiting period was uncomfortable for both of them.

Bethany kept wondering what Larry had been hiding. Larry, meanwhile, remained unusually quiet. His behavior made Bethany believe that he already knew something might be wrong.

Finally, the report arrived.

The Report Reveals the Problem

The medical results showed that Larry was experiencing a health condition affecting his sexual function. The doctor explained that this was a medical issue and not something Larry should feel ashamed about. The doctor also emphasized that further evaluation could help determine appropriate treatment options.

Bethany was shocked—not simply because of the result, but because Larry had kept the problem from her for so long.

Larry remained silent. His embarrassment was obvious, and for a moment, Bethany did not know whether to be angry or sympathetic.

What hurt her most was feeling that Larry had faced the problem alone instead of trusting her enough to tell her.

Bethany Calls Her Father

The situation became so serious that Bethany decided to call her father, Mr. Worker. She told him that Larry had a medical problem that was affecting their marriage and that she did not know what to do next.

Mr. Worker arrived at the house shortly afterward. When Bethany explained everything, he initially became angry and emotional.

Bethany took a moment before answering. Her response surprised everyone.

Her words changed the atmosphere in the room. Mr. Worker realized that Bethany was not trying to punish Larry. She wanted to help him and save their marriage.

Mr. Worker Talks to Larry

Mr. Worker then sat down with Larry privately. Instead of continuing to criticize him, he tried to speak to him like a father.

Larry finally looked up. For the first time, he seemed willing to admit that he was afraid. He had been embarrassed about his condition and worried that Bethany would look at him differently if she knew the truth.

Mr. Worker told him that hiding the problem would not make it disappear. The only way forward was to get professional medical advice and understand exactly what was happening.
